Also Dante may be as capable strategically as a Primarch, but he’s tired, old and is no longer as physically capable, even after crossing the rubicon, as for Mephiston, because his geneseed activated twice (something that is physically considered impossible and is outside of the emperors design for the organ) Mephiston is physically evolving, not just psychically, and the geneseed does contain the entire genetic make up of Sanguinius, so he may well be turning into a mini Sanguinius and not realise it.

we don’t know what 10k years as a warp entity with some level of belief in him as a savior of a sort has done to his physical appearance 

 

new model has been upscaled to primaris sized so it seems clear that he’s increased in size since then.

This has been explained by Sanguinius when he was speaking to Mephiston and explaining the twin angels, the sanguinor has grown, but not by much, and that’s the reason for the change, but he’s still not anywhere near the size of a Custodes, much less a Primarch.

 

The Black Angel however, is much bigger, and stronger, and this is due to how much the black rage is rampaging through the blood angels.
