Interestingly, the release date for these boxes (at least in US and Canada) is on 27th of November, which happens to be Friday rather than the usual Saturday release date. More specifically, the Black Friday if I have understood correctly. Will the rest of the world see them on the same day, or a day later on Saturday?

Should probably also try counting the discount levels for the two boxes.

And after some frantic checking of prices, my calculator gives the following total prices for the items if bought separately (assuming £160 per box):

- Vanguard box: £253.50 (discount 36.9 %)

- Heavy support box: £237 (discount 32.5 %)

For reasons that are unclear to me, the Mk III Tactical Squad is currently priced at only £52 on GW online store, while the other Tactical Squads (Mk II, IV and VI) are priced at £57.

Quick tot up from me was about £200 rrp and it was good then, if these are £160 and then down to ~£120 with FLGS discount, that's a steal. Trade the tanks for a melee/heavy weapon sprue and you have a neat ZM force in a box.

so... when does that lotd box arrive?

You mean the Kill Zone Team boxed set that was previewed in September?

Since these are for release on the last weekend of November, that might see the day of light in early December.

Corrected Kill Zone into Kill Team

I could be tempted by either but I have more than enough Heresy stuff to be getting on with so I really shouldnt

Personally, what would have been really nice would have been an tank boxset. 5-6 Rhino based chassis e.g Preds and Whilwinds

That theme would certainly fit with the Tanksgiving Weekend release date for the North American market.

Considering the circa £250 price point at full retail price, one possible set-up might have been e.g. 3 Predators, 1 Whirlwind, 1 Rhino and 1 Officer on foot waving a sword and shouting orders (*). The last two elements being there so that it could be marketed as a "complete starting force" for HH 3.0 beginners.

(*) The said orders likely being "Drive closer so that I can hit them with my sword".

Will be on the Friday internationally too; GW has run releases on Black Friday for a long time (at least as far back as the release of Warhammer Quest Blackstone Fortress which they named "Blackstone Friday"). We have Amazon to "thank" for exporting this tradition around the world.

This weeks pricesheet already included the battleforces and they will be up for preorder on the 14th.

All at 255$ so 206€/£160

If this is legit then it makes the Blood Angels box even worse compared to the others than we already thought. Every other year the boxes have varied in price slightly based on the contents. I understand the point of aligning the prices, but failing to align the contents too is just such a fail.

Thanks for the information, I was not aware of it having become a tradition. That "Blackstone Friday" sounds quite striking name.

Considering that the Chaos Marine battle force is likely to be a good seller, perhaps this year the day could be known as "Black Legion Friday"?

Though when the Blood Angel players see the contents (or the lack of) for their battle force, it might end up becoming known as "Black Rage Friday".

BA box could´ve done with another jump pack dudes or another 3 Sanguinary guards to compensate their already ridiculous price per box

The sanguinary guard in the box just shouldn't be there, but I get why cuz of Dante.  It's just such a non-bo with the combat patrol.

I agree another 3 SG would've gone a long way to making the box feel with the price, but it'd still be a tough sell even then. Just buy another Combat Patrol and a Dante and still come out cheaper than this box.

Hmm. The more I muse on them the more the Vanguard one looks appealing. It's a shame it's MKVI rather than MKIV which would have made it a sure thing for me, but it's still very usable. The fact that it's got one of the best discount rates of all 14 boxes doesn't hurt.

Considering that the Mk IV Maximus battle group was released less than half a year ago, it would have been a bit early to expect a second battle group with Mk IV this year. Maybe next year?

(I have to admit that Mk IV is also one of my favourite types of power armour.)

My 3k list last event was about 80 power armoured bodies, 5 terms and a few tanks (kratos, Typhon, rhinos, contemptor). Bodies are cheap in heresy, these are a great way to bulk things out and a good addition to saturnine, the siege force from last Xmas, or the maximus set.

I love preds and have alphas, so I'm very tempted by the Mk6 one.
