Octavulg
(Subject sobs uncontrollably for several minutes until disciplinary correction administered by sergeant Bullen) Name where this is from and why the subject is such a wreck For cool bonus points, name the two people in the room with him... Nerberus
It's from an article in WD (chapter aproved?) about necrons a while back. I can't rember the subject's name (Durio?) but Sergeant Bullen was one of those present. The 'subject' is in such a state because of guilt. After seeing his command ripped apart by necrons he ran into a bunker and locked the door; locking the rest of his pltoon outside to die. This bloke was the only survivor. The other person in the room was an Imperial officer but I can't rember his name or rank (Commissioner?). Octavulg
Trooper Duro, IIRC. Colonel Montague was the other gentleman present. Twas from the chapter approved list about them. Well done. Tis the one 40K quote that really sticks in my memory. The hat goes unto you. Stef
:D Octavulg just PM'ed me that he found the answer to my question on the internet, which is enormously lame. I found out that 90% of you guys do that in this topic, i'm not going to bother anymore. Do as you like, but know theres no honour at all in you. Nerberus
I only just found out that 'do not anger the machine god' is not in effect on this thread :D . A simple way round this is to do a search on the net for the answer to the question you are going to ask to make sure it can't be found that way. I just did that with my current question. To my surprise you can find sites that mention Barghesi, but thankfully none have anything to do with 40k. Hopefully this will seperate the fluff masters from the websearch whores (shame on all you who rely on them). So again, who, what or where is Barghesi (in the 40k universe)? the_fifth_horseman
Well, I don't know and I read a lot of fluff... guess it's something really, really rare... though brings a Guard reminiscence somehow. Nerberus
Really, really rare? Not so, but I guess it depends on how you look at it. Barghesi has nothing to do with IG. Keep reading. Brother Sergeant Alasseo
Sounds a bit like an imperial curry... But I have a vague memory of an Imperial Archivist/Historian/Rememberer with a name like that... Was Barghesi an Imperial Historian-dude? @Stef: I have never used the 'net to answer a question in this thread. I may have guessed, ransacked every fluff-book in a four mile radius, but Never have I used the net. So one of us guys has honour at least. Nerberus
Barghesi is not any form of historian-dude. The staus of Barghesi reguarding Imperial curries is unknown. I have never used the 'net to answer a question in this thread. I may have guessed, ransacked every fluff-book in a four mile radius, but Never have I used the net. Respect to you sir! Now get ransacking! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/43170-fluff-competition/page/51/#findComment-668943 Share on other sites
Aurelius Rex
I would also urge that the 'Do not anger the Machine God' (no websearches) ruling be followed in this thread as well. Otherwise it stops being a test of fluff knowledge, desparately searching through the stacks of WD, codices, rulebooks and BL books, and simply becomes a test of who can type the key-word into Google fastest. :D All we can do is rely on the honesty and integrity of the players, but the only person they will be cheating is themselves. MCAAGR!A(UK)
okay . a guess . they are a alien race of miners or bounty hunters Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/43170-fluff-competition/page/51/#findComment-671107 Share on other sites
Nerberus
;) And I went to the trouble of writing a little cryptic clue as well :( The answer is indeed an alien race. It is not mentioned if they are bounty hunters or miners in the fluff, as GW has only written three words on the Berghesi, one of which I admit is Barghesi. Page 139 of the new rulebook lists the "hyper-violent Barghesi" as one of the 'lesser' xenos civilisations that pose a thread to the Imperium, along with the Khrave, Drugh, Hrud and Lacrymoles. I know that techincally this was not a question relating to the Imperium (I didn't realise they had to be until I read the whole post) but since everyone here should really have the rulebook I figured the little bit written about them was easily accessible to everyone, so I left it. Also it really was impossible to find using an internet search (which are now BANNED from this thread by the way). *stops and turns to Stef, Allesso, Moridin, SomeMarine and Aurellius in nods to each in turn in respect of their honur (which is a much revered thing to a follower of Khorne). And also to goggen, for not only banning websearches but also starting this most holy of holy threads* A few people recognised the word, but couldn't place it. So at least it wasn't that impossible (besides, how long would it take for someone to guess "xenos". Not too long apparently). Anyway enough excuses for asking a question about something so obscure that also slighly bent the rules of this thread. The (now 8-pointed star shaped) Iron halo of asker of questions goes to you MCAAGR!A(UK).
