Space Hulk Modeling Thread

Recommended Posts

Well, I did paint up some Fists for the campaign, but I modelled them on jungle bases to tie in with the rest of my army :P ... The good news is that they're almost finished  .

How many termies do you need to join?

Got five Black templar termies awaiting painting.

Btw, can the sergeant have equipment from the armoury?

You can use the Return to Space Hulk-article as a guideline. Most kill teams will consist lf 5 terminators.

Oblit, every time my IF see your IF, they try to leave my house.

I am ashamed of my yellow painting (and green, and purple, and blue, and white, but I prime like a mad man!)

Amazing minis. Don't worry, I will make an internal jungle enviroment to provide oxygen!

The "Purple with Gold" trim Chapter has purchased their Terminators!

Now I will have to go one step further, and make magnets on the feet of the terminator, for switchable bases! Yes, you heard it here first, an original idea by Refuse. Instead of swappable arms, swappable bases! Cover the base with metal, and the termies will stick on it!

It would be cool to have in person games with these teams at the various Games Days and events throughout the year. Would be a good way to bring us all together in person playing games and showing off our models while still keeping the portability and quick playability (and finish-ability ^_^ ) you don't get in full armies.
but I modelled them on jungle bases
just say your boarding pod smashed thru the wrong layer causing you to begin the conservatory

way ahead of you  i've got x2 lots of bases as well (magnetic of course)

Soul Drinker's??

Some times I think you guys do this on purpose, You all know I have NO! self control! ^_^

So I just had to start a Kill Team also.

Here is the WIP Pic's. Just minor arm conversions.

Since I didnt know if any of you are making an Assault Team, Thats what I made, you know just to be diffrent.

:P

And there is Refuse again, with all this talk about his highly descriptive "Purple and Gold Trim" Marine legion ;)

Nicorex.... You are one CRAZY individual!! I swear you must have a hidden bits vault somewhere, as you come up with conversions, i swear on an almost daily basis!! Man, all these comps are giving me really bad cravings >.<

A shame the DW rules got nerfed (temporarily?) in 4th Ed, as i would loved to have made a mix n match squad... Oh well... Maybe out of sheer randomness i could enter in half of my old OOP Termies since i havent used them for anything, although converting them will be a major pain in ones backside (and arm).

Space Hulk here as well.

Though not using the Kill Team rules.

Using homegrown rules inspired by X-Com.

For those doing Terminators and have not yet glued the arms on, I highly recommend magnetizing them with Rare Earth Magnets.

Hole drilled into arm's shoulder joing and then magent glued into place:

Here are some "proof of concept shots":

When the time comes to play, pick your weapons.

I am in the process of giving the same treatment to a set of close combat arms and a couple extra assault cannons and flamers.

I would like to join, but I already have more than I cna chew for myself with my 2000+ Iron Warriors and now the Medusa Wing.

Nicorex - Somehow when I saw the guy with the twin lighting claws clsoe together I couldn't help but say "RRRRR...<insert angry grin face showing his teeth"

No photos no belief.

AND STAY OUT OF MY MIND (only room for one!)

;)

Hi all ;)

Ok, i got 2 boxes of Termies un-opened, one basic, one assault & i'm currently

working on a DIY themed templar army which uses templar rules, i could tie in

the termies with my army as well as use them for spacehulk, so i suppose i can

take part in this craziness ;)

Aside from that...

@ Nicorex, those termies look well mate, good job although for the piping

on the claws maybe consider using some bass guitar strings with a little

wire through the centre just to hold it in place

@ CRasterImage, do you by anychance know where i can pick up some of

those magnets in the uk? online perferably ;)

enjoy!

I bought 1/8" diameter, 1/32" thick disk magnets from K&J Mangetics:

They are an American company.

To find a company closer to you, try searching this site for "rare earth magnets".

I bet one of those discussions mentions some online stores in the UK.
