Recommended Posts

Just thought i'd post mine here as well. The dread has been finished for a while, but i just recently took some good pictures of it.

A converted dread based on the aobr chassis. I play it as a missile launcher and twin linked autocannon.

Man, did anyone play Earthsiege back in the day? Love the conversion :(

Looks like a Longbow from battletech to me. :D

Lots of great looking dreads here; some quite spectacular. Impossible as it might be to pick a favourite, I intend to do just that. It'll take some time though, so don't hold your breath! :)

As for my dreads: neither of these are new, but new stuff's not the point of this thread, so here you go...

gallery_2_1337_14487.jpg

Brother Elias, my first dread. An also-ran in the B&C 2004 dreadnought painting contest.

gallery_43_3605_84364.jpg

Brother Stirner, another GD UK also-ran. He was an exercise in converting the plastic dreadnought when it was still quite new. I completed this model just in time for the T/L autocannon option to disappear in C:SM4. So that's already one good reason I have to like the new codex. :HQ:

Uppage !!!

Sorry for the poor quality of the photos but I had a choice to make between apologies for photos or apologies for the painting. Pride chose "photo-logies".

Here is a pic of my Venerable from my Iron Hands. I used a FW Venerable torso for it after the legs I had disintegrated while washung them(really un-cool ;) !) , and added a new head with some scratch-built bionics. The legs were cut and repositioned, and some bits added here and there. The Assault Cannon arm came from the Metal Venerable when you could still order individual bits, and the other arm is a product of leftover parts of the legs from the aforementioned FW venny. I clipped off the lower leg, and built up a 'hand' similar to the Chapter icon to represent the army as a whole. The fingers by the way are actually the sensor arrays from a Tau Tank, cut and reset to look the way they are. Sadly, I had to sell the whole army(this model included) due to becoming a product of the U.S. booming economy. I am rebuilding, so perhaps the new owner may have a kind heart(if you are reading this hint hint), and sell me back the Dred, as I really don't want to do this again. Here it is:

I see you lost the spikes off his halo as well. I eventually cut them all off and left the arch as his ornamentation.

My take on the Assault on Black Reach dreadnought for my Snow Leopards space marine chapter.

gallery_45081_3702_41346.jpg

Who turned out the lights? All I see is blueberry flavored candy cane!

Nice, that'll confuse those pesky Tau.

"Is that a Dreadnaught or a snowy Rock?" Squintinginto the distance, Fire Warrior

" That would be a rock!" Dreadnaught, from behind the Fire Warrior

"Oh crap" Now deceased Fire Warrior

Ha! Referencing fail.

Bit of a pointless jibe there. But I did that for good reason, to save peeps from seeing the same images over and over again, and since mine was the post directly after, I thought I'd save our fellow user's minds so they can scroll down and see newer images.

Everything has a reason for happening brother. :)
