  1. @Kisada, That is a mightily impressive contribution to these vows. The extra detailing on the LRC (inside and out) is superbly delivered.
  2. IMHO, - An Emperor's Champion will be specific to a Crusade, but not all crusades will have an Emperor's Champion. - However, there is nothing to prevent a Marshal (or High Marshal) from nominating a champion (with a small "c"?) from within his household of brethren. This would fit in with the 8th Edition Company Champion for stats - bending the naming for a Chapter that has no Companies! After all, we have worked around the Captain /Lieutenant - Marshal/Castellan issues for the Templars?

    Black Templars

This is the Serpentis Crusade, gathered under Marshall Orion. More information on latest models and work in progress is shown on my profile "about me" page.
  4. The latest addition to the Serpentis Crusade is a Castellan on a Bike, to carry an expensive Thunder Hammer or a custom Mace, depending where I want to race in with the hurt or buff. As a Castellan, I have put his personal heraldry on the front of the bike, instead of my usual Templar Cross. Together with the Iron Halo and (GS) Cape, he is probably carrying enough bling to segregate him from the veteran bikers. He also gets a large oval display base (with magnets in the tyres). 5. @Stemplar You have no problem with Company Veteran numbers in your squad. The Marshall, Champion and Apothecary are characters, and thus the biker squad can be for 1x Sword Brethren plus 1x Initiate, and up to three more Vets if you take the extra Power number.
  6. The Serpentis Crusade has been joined by a full squad of Company Veterans on Bikes with Storm Shields, together with Company Champion, Chaplain and Apothecary:
  7. I have brought the Company Veterans Squad to the maximum number with this additional Initiate and an Apothecary. The latter is a conversion of the metal model, as I am too stingy to buy the full 6-man Finecast(?) Company Command. 8. @Othniel's Blade I haven't been able to trace this. Any link, please?
  9. On this rare occasion, I would disagree on the lightning. The gold trim is strong and lightning would just be too much clutter.
  10. Knightfall vow completed, for one Drop Pod and a minimum Crusader squad of five initiates. This drop pod is probably the worst model that I have completed for some time. The painting progressed in the end, but the build afterwards was a nightmare, as the alignment of the vanes kept twisting. Fortunately, I had magnetised the five ramps to the engine panels (see the red dots on the panels), enabling me to get the engine in place and fit the vanes, albeit poorly. What I cannot recall is how I managed to get my previous drop pod building so much better! I am not in a rush to tackle another pod.
  11. Staying with the five BT Initiates as the valid unit for my vow (being editted now).
  12. Thanks Ciler - I might get used to the new 8th Edition text sometime! 5 Initiates it is (I will try to get the Kill Team finished as well, as an extra - they are overdue some TLC).
  13. Although my crusade needs another drop pod, I very nearly opted out of this Knightfall, strugling with the following reasons: I hate painting drop pods - too many hidden corners to find for paint I am filling in my 9-man Crusader Squads with 5ive marines, as an alternative to taking Sword Brethren (can't think why though but 5 Initiates are only a comabt squad, not a valid Unit. Then I remembered that I have a base-coated IF Kill Team that has made no recent progress. @Firepower - If our Legion brothers can be allowed to fill/borrow this BT Drop Pod for Knightfall, then I will vow to complete all three elements as the first item. I, Pyskic_scribe, hereby vow the aid of a Drop Pod, five Initiates and a Kill Team to the Eternal Crusade before the Night of the Witch! I enter with the mark of the Neophyte, and will emerge glorious as an Initiate by Crusade's end as a true brother of the Black Templars. Should I fail in my duties, I will wear the mark of failure until year's end, that all may know my sin! Starting point photos: Hidden Content
  14. Black Templar Castellan I have a lot of HQ choices for my Black Templar Crusade, but I realised that I did not have a “basic” 8th Edition Captain for any low points Detachment. Based on the Commander model, this one carries a master-crafted boltgun and chainsword. Castellan (Captain) with m/c boltgun and chainsword: OK, so I couldn’t resist a few magnetised weapon options: Castellan with Storm Bolter and Storm Shield: Hidden Content Castellan with Combi-melta and Power Sword: Hidden Content
