Tie miniature to a base

I don't know who this can help, but still I have used several ways to tie a miniature to the base.  First and most common is a weathering.  You use same color/pigment to weather base and lower part of miniature.  It's easy and work nice for most cases. Yellow. Yellow is the king of the color scheme. This is a king with character who does not tolerate violation of his rules.  There can only be one king, which means he won't tolerate another shade of yellow (or you'll get a neon sign instead of armor).  Every king rules by force and the king's strength lies in his army - in the base coat.  If it is bad, incomplete, or does not match in shade, it will not help its king in any way.
