The Dire Catechists
Where the Dire Catechists walk, your faith dies screaming.
The breakers of idols, the hammers of false light
Our steps unmake creeds, our voices drown hymns
Shrines crumble beneath our litanies of ruin
Priests fall silent beneath the weight of Truth
Where we tread, belief is shattered to dust
We are the Dire Catechists, and faith dies before us
The Dire Catechists
Legionaries of the Ebon Word
They are the hammer that falls upon sanctuaries, the scripture‑burners, the sermon‑killers. Where the Dire Catechists tread, the Imperial Creed withers like parchment in flame. Once acolytes of the Word’s deepest exegetical circles, they have long since abandoned the quiet study of truth for the violent proclamation of it. Their armor is etched with shattered aquilas and broken litanies; their blades are engraved with verses from the Book of Lorgar inverted into weapons of blasphemous revelation.
The Dire Catechists do not merely kill the faithful- they unmake belief. They tear down shrines stone by stone, defile relics with ritual precision, and silence preachers with the same reverence others reserve for prayer. To them, every chapel is a lie waiting to be exposed, every priest a false prophet whose tongue must be stilled. As the Iscarne teaches, “Doubt begets failure, never doubt the Word,” and so they bring doubt to the Imperium by force, by fire, by the ruin of its sacred icons.
In battle they advance as a litany of destruction, chanting counter‑sermons that drown out the hymns of the Ecclesiarchy; collapsing cathedrals as they smash statues, pulp holy tomes, and carve the Eightfold Truth into the ruins. Within the Ebon Word, they are indispensable; to the Imperium, they are the nightmare of apostasy made manifest.
