List-building for 11th ed

This will be different from my normal blog posts in this thread. I'll be working on making current, 11th ed compatible lists for four of my armies- Necrons, DA/Primaris, Votann, and CSM. I also have Imperial Knights and Imperial Agents, but I don't really want to run Knights right now (aside from annoying my friends) and Agents are not really an army I want to try to make work as they are currently. So, I'll run down my list and then thoughts on how it will play.

Necrons

Detachment - Starshatter

C'tan Shard of the Void Dragon

Illuminor Szeras

Imotekh the Stormlord - Attached to 10man Lychguard squad w/sword and board

Technomancer - Attached to 6man Wraith squad w/claws and beamers

Psychomancer - Attached to 10man Warrior squad w/reapers

Canoptek Reanimator

Canoptek Spiders - 2man unit w/beamers, claw array, and gloom prism

Lohkust Heavy Destroyer w/guass - 3x 1man units

Deathmarks - 5man

Flayed Ones - 5man

Skorpekh Destroyers - 1x 3man and 1x 6man squad

Tomb Blades - Twin gauss blasters, shieldvanes, and shadow looms

Thoughts-

With Starshatter being Priority Assets disposition, I need a lot of smaller squads able to do actions, with a few key squads to either be able to take a hammering (Wraiths/Lychguard) or give out a hammering (6man Skorpekh/Spiders). The general plan is for the Wraith squad to head to a center objective to make it really annoying to kill them off, backed up with the big Skorpekh squad, while the Warriors/Lychguard hit my Expansion objective. Flayed Ones/Tomb Blades/small Skorpekh run around and do actions/annoy the enemy. Anti-vehicle duties are set up for the Heavy Destroyers and the Void Dragon, while the Illumnior gives the Warrior squad buffs and provides a counter-beatstick to that flank. Deathmarks sit on my home objective only to deny the enemy any points, because Priority Assets really doesn't reward you for holding your home objective. This army will be fairly fast for Necrons and mainly work on the idea of Necrons being hard to put down fully- it won't be the killiest thing out there but it will be a grind to get through. Don't think this style of Necron will be seen a lot, we'll see how it goes in a few weeks.

DA/Primaris

Detachment - Wrath of the Rock (or...?)

Lion el'Jonson

Azrael - Attached to a 6man Inner Circle Companions squad

Judicar - Ancient Weapons Enhancement - Attached to a 6man Inner Circle Companions squad

Terminator Captain - Deathwing Assault Enhancement - Attached to 5man Deathwing Knights squad (Maces)

Intercessor squad - 2x 5man squads (1 w/powerfist, 1 w/thunderhammer)

Redemptor Dreadnought - Macro plasma incinerator, gatling cannon, storm bolters, icarus rocket pod

Outrider squad - 3man

Aggressor squad - 3man w/flamestorm

Eradicator squad - 2x 3man w/multimelta

Infiltrator Squad - 5man w/helix gauntlet and comms array

Thoughts-

Similar plan to the Necrons with Wrath of the Rock being Priority Assets, so the Deathwing Knights being able to drop down turn one onto a center objective or the enemy's home turf is very nice, while the ICC squads storm up the center/expansion objectives and provide a big target because they're scary. Aggressor squad and a single Eradicator squad stay in Reserve to pop out where needed, while the Lion, Redemptor, and other Eradicator squad are put on big stuff killing duty. Intercessors can be objective monkeys and so can the Outriders/Infiltrators (if they don't die too quickly). I ran this once already, without the Outriders because it was before points day, and it worked fairly well. I'm looking at options for other detachments and/or utilizing my Ultramarine special characters instead of DA (so Victrix instead of ICCs, Gulliman instead of the Lion, etc...), so this will probably be my most flexable/adaptable army this edition.

Votann

Detachments - Armoured Trailblazers, Needgard Oathband

Uthar the Destined - Attached to a Hearthkyn Warrior squad w/Theyn pistol + melee weapon, 2 plasma knives, HyLas autorifle, Hylas rotary cannon, ion blasters

Memnyr Strategist - Dead Reckoning Enhancement - Attached to 3man Ironkin Steeljacks with heavy volkanite

Einhyr Champion - Ancestral Crest Enhancement - Attached to 5man Einhyr Hearthguard sqaud w/hammer, plasma, fists

Sagitaur transports - 2x with Optimised Attack Lines Upgrades

Hearthkyn Warrior squad - Theyn pistol + melee weapon, 2 plasma knives, HyLas autorifle, Hylas rotary cannon, ion blasters

Brokhyr Thunderkyn squad - 3man w/conversion beamers

Hernkyn Pioneers - 3man w/Hylas, searchlight, panspectral scanner

Hekaton Land Fortress - w/conversion beamer and heavy bolters

Ironkin Steeljacks w/Melee weapons - 6man w/swords

Kapricus Defenders - 2x 1man units, 1x 2man unit, all with magna-rail cannons

Thoughts-

Needgard is Purge the Foe, so I need to kill stuff and hold outlying objectives. I think this army will do decently at that, and while Needgard doesn't have the greatest detachment rule itself I quite like the strats and enhancements. Both Warrior squad will split up into two- the Hylas/Theyn/Knives go into a Sagituar (one with Uthar) and the basic guys will be useful as action monkey/OC pieces. The 3man Steeljacks will sit on my home objective while the big squad go out to contest the middle. Hearthguard and Thunderkyn stay in Reserves to drop into a useful area turn 2/3, while the Pioneers and Defenders rush out to control/hopefully do damage. This is a really fast Votann list, with the Sagitaurs gaining both a Scout move (along with the Pioneers/Kapricus) and Mobile to go through terrain, so hopefully surprising those that think of the Leagues as plodding along stubby-legs. I'll be running this list Tuesday against a Fellhammer Siege Host CSM list that has a bunch of Obliterators/Mutilators/Havocs, so I'll really see how well I can do against something that pretty much counters any of my advantages...

Chaos Space Marines

Detachments - 1 (Fellhammer Siege-Host and Murdertalon Raiders) 2 (Nightmare Hunt and Devotees of Destruction)

Terminator Lord - Bastion Plate Enhancement(1)/None - Combi-weapon/Exalted weapon - Attached to 5man Terminator squad w/Paired accursed weapons, 1 chainfist, 3 powerfists, reaper autocannon, combi-bolters

Jumppack Lord - Pack of Cursed Pinions Enhancement (1)/Sorrowscent Vulture Enhancement(2) - Paired Lightning Claws - Attached to 10man Warp Talon squad

Master of Executions - Attached to 5man Chosen squad w/2 plasma pistols, powerfist, 2 combi-weapons, 1 paired accursed weapon, 3 accursed weapons

Master of Executions - Attached to 5man Chosen squad w/2 plasma pistols, powerfist, 2 combi-weapons, 1 paired accursed weapon, 3 accursed weapons

Legionaries - 2x 5man squads w/plama pistol, 2 heavy melee weapons, 2 chainswords, lascannon

Terminator squad - 5man squad w/1 powerfist, 4 accursed weapons, 1 heavy flamer, 4 combi-weaons

Havocs - 5man squad w/plasmagun and powerfist, 4 lascannons

Obliterators

Raptors - 2x 5man squads w/3 plasma pistols, 3 heavy melee weapons

(1) Traitor guard squad w/power weapon and bolter, grenade launcher, flamer, plasmagun

(2) Cultist mob - 10man w/1 bolt pistol

Thoughts-

This is a pair of lists that are very, very similar barring a couple of Enhancements and a Traitor Guard/Cult squad swap. The Fell/Murder list has the option to be either Purge the Foe or Take & Hold, while the Night/Devotee list is Disruption/Priority Assets. So both lists are very similar, but they will play quite different- Fell/Murder is going to go hard into smashing into the enemy and using all the Deepstriking assets (Termies/Raptors/Warp Talons) to harass the enemy's scoring units. Night/Devotees will be using the small squads to do actions and probably wind up doing less damage to the enemy because of it. I don't know if this army will do great, as it is very much a themed list based on my the Terror and the Truth blog's semi-conflicting Night Lords and Word Bearers army, so it may be a big mess. It will be my next Crusade (or whatever narrative campaign thing replaces it) army, so I will probably be getting a lot of reps in with it no matter how badly it does.
