Gaming Thoughts

List-building for 11th ed

This will be different from my normal blog posts in this thread. I'll be working on making current, 11th ed compatible lists for four of my armies- Necrons, DA/Primaris, Votann, and CSM. I also have Imperial Knights and Imperial Agents, but I don't really want to run Knights right now (aside from annoying my friends) and Agents are not really an army I want to try to make work as they are currently. So, I'll run down my list and then thoughts on how it will play.       Necron

CtA 2026 - Planning...

So, I of course am going to do the CtA 2026. Love the event and getting more stuff finished! So far, I've decided to challenge myself and complete at least 5 points, or a minimum of a character model/5 man squad, in each of the Strongholds (Space Marines, Imperium, Chaos, Xenos, and Horus Heresy). I don't have a lot for all of the Strongholds, but I have at least a single character that I can do. Here's what my plan is so far-    Chaos Vow - All Word Bearers Chaos Lord in Terminator

The Nightbringer is built

Managed to build the Nightbringer on his base and greenstuff the gaps despite suffering from Nurgle's Blessing the last two days. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out- the Purple Sun is such a cool model and I think it will make a statement on the table. As a bonus, I guess I get a Convergence of Dominion stele, which will probably never see the tabletop because it is not good.     Next up for hobbying I'm getting in a full set of Deathwing Companions from the He

Issues...?

So, got back from RMO (went 2-4, a personal best in a 30+ player tournament- I am never good in tournaments) and decided to start on my Nightbringer conversion. Tell me if you can figure out the issue -      So. My original idea of using one of the Convergence of Dominion steles to be the base and put a Purple Sun of Shyish on top of it is probably not going to work. I don't really see a way to make the full stele work as basing material and at this point I think cutti

Diorama finished

Finished up the diorama, Unexpected Finds, which was painted in about 3 days over six/seven hours. I now know why the really good painters do things in sections, as getting into some of the areas was not easy and I had to do more clean-up than I wished. Still happy with it, especially since it was basically a "free" diorama that I was able to put together with leftover/unused kits that were sitting around my hobby space.     Up next for painting is finishing my

Votann, DA, Necromunda, and Inquisition weirdos

Just got some bits in and went on a little building spree. Included in the order was a single stele from the Necron Convergence of Dominion- did not really realize how big they were. It will still work for the base of my Nigthbringer count-as, but might just have to make the angle it is resting on a little more extreme, as it being 7 inches tall itself means that it is almost as big as the Nightbringer alone. Something new...

I'm a member of Yaktribe because I occasionally mess about with Necromunda and for a long time it was the default organizational tool for that game. Now, I mainly hang out in their hobby boards because I can post about my minis that aren't 40k. They have periodic contests of differing topics and this latest one was Hallowed and Haunted: make something that is sacred, uncanny, or cursed. Small Nightbringer update

Got the bits for the Nightbringer, but decided I wanted to up my game a little bit. So instead of just the Purple Sun floating with the puzzle/blackstone bits, I will take one of the Convergence of Dominion steles and use it as a base. Canted at an angle, I think it will sell the whole "C'tan that broke free" that my Necron stuff is going for. Plus, found some old FW scarabs that should make good basing material as well. Both of those are going to be shipped to me in the next couple of weeks and

A start....sort of

Hello all. I decided to start another blog, this time to chart out my progress for stuff that isn't currently my Night Lords or Votann. Since I have quite a few other armies/projects, I figure that rather than create new blogs for all of them I'll consolidate them into one. I will still have my various threads for the complete minis (Word Bearers, Necrons, Primaris), but since those threads are all typically about complete models/fluff, this will be where my weird ideas come to bloom.
