The Red Hunters- Army Ideas

Well the new updated faction packs has me thinking and leaning into a certain idea for my Red Hunters.  My Howling Griffons are Ultramarine Successors and My Exorcists are Imperial Fist Successors, the Red Hunters have no Parent Chapter listed so I can use any Chapter I want or No Chapter at all.  I am leaning towards Dark Angels. I like the following Detachments as I feel it fits their Belief that the Emperor is a God. 

 

Interrogation Conclave

1 Detachment Point

 

▪ In the Fight phase, when a friendly CHAPLAIN unit destroys an
enemy unit, enemy units within 6" of that CHAPLAIN unit make a
battle-shock roll.


▪ Friendly CHAPLAIN units have the following ability:
Sower of Dread (Aura): While an enemy unit is within 6" of this
unit, that enemy unit has -1 Ld.


Restrictions: Your army can include DARK ANGELS units, but it
cannot include any ADEPTUS ASTARTES units drawn from any
other Chapter.

 

Enhancements

 

LIMITLESS ZEAL
This Interrogator‐Chaplain is restless and dynamic, not
only in his pursuit of enemies but also when eliciting their
screamed confessions.


CHAPLAIN model only. This unit has +1 to charge rolls.


INESCAPABLE INTERROGATION
Whatever physical obfuscation the enemy hides behind mirrors
only the lies shrouding their souls. This experienced Chaplain is
deceived by neither.


CHAPLAIN model only. This unit’s ranged attacks have
[IGNORES COVER].

 

My other points would be the Librarius Conclave (another 1 point Detachment) and either Fulguris Task Force or Darkflight Pursuit since both are Land Speeder based detachments.

A few things actually but it’s mainly to fit to the cannon. 

-They Worship the Emperor as a God, so having more chaplains makes sense for spiritual support.

  The Chaplins would be there to teach and guide the chapter to being faithful servants of the God-Emperor. This would help the chapter  a better relationship with the Ecclesiarchy than other Space Marine Chapters. 
  So giving the Chaplins some kind of buff for them makes sense. And Dark Angels are the only ones with Chaplain specific buffs.

 

-The Darkflight Pursuit is land speeders ignore cover while the Fulguris Task Force is ingress moves. You can take enhancements in DFP that lets you ingress and in FTF you can take take an enhancement for shooting in cover.

  I have 2 Landspeeders and a storm speeder hammerstrike I am planning to build as the minimum for land speeders class. So DFP may actually be better for me to ignore cover over the ingress moves and then the 3 to to have ingress can get that enhancement.
 

Now this is just matching the rules to the cannon. I don’t believe Red Hunters are Dark Angel successors. They have been listed before as Ultramarines Successors but that was redacted. IMHO they are loyalist Word Bearers. But I also feel that Exorcists are Grey Knights successor. 
 

Some Fluff reasons to play Red Hunters as Dark Angels.

-Hunt for the Fallen, using the Inquisition to help hunt the fallen and capture them to keep the secret of the fallen from the imperium. Red Hunters are silencing the ones that know under Inquisition mandate 

-Deathwing/ Ravenwing are attached to the other companies as support rather than having 1st and 8th companies 

-penance for the fallen, serving the inquisition and killing traitors to the god emperor because of the fallen.

Ah I see, I like your fluff idea. Well can't help you with the rules part, but I personally like the idea of a chimeric-geneseed for the Red Hunters.
