Neat model. Mostly I'm thankful for something not Legion Imperialis on Heresy Thursday -
Siege of Terra and the next campaign books
bushman101 replied to loginomicon's topic in + WARHAMMER: THE HORUS HERESY +
I don't think the Campaign books in the past (1st ed) were in any particular order as far as a time line. It seems GW/FW chooses campaigns and side quests to focus on as they feel inclined. Even if they did jump into the SoT, they could lean into the Scouring a good bit. Plenty of stories to tell as Chaos gets slowly pushed to the Eye of Terror -

Returning to 2nd Edition HH with some questions...
bushman101 replied to Unit1126PLL's topic in + Rules +
Your not allowed to take a Warlord in an Allied detachment. Warlords can only be from the Primary. Under the Detachments section on p280, it basically says you chose a Warlord before you select another detachment. Basically, anything that 'must' be a Warlord is invalid to be chosen as a Allied HQ. -

Do you plan to use Indomitus Terminators?

I saw this pic and the only thing I saw is that he wasn't wearing socks or foot coverings That's got to be rough for so many reasons -

How important are challenges?
bushman101 replied to Valkyrion's topic in + WARHAMMER: THE HORUS HERESY +
If you teach the game, I'd leave out challenges. That being said, challenges can be super important if you build for them, generally if you're playing a melee army. It's basically Sniping up close -
Siege of Cthonia thoughts
bushman101 replied to SkimaskMohawk's topic in + WARHAMMER: THE HORUS HERESY +
Just curious, does Militia have a lot of options for ZM? Is it hampering or an inconvenience to not have that unit? (I genuinely don't know, since I have no experience with Miltia in Heresy) -

At this rate, my new list will consist of a single HQ with Retinue and all the rest cheap Troop choices (Tact, Despoilers and Breechers). I should be able to get everything on the board quickly this way -

Yeah. There is a 'designer's note' that gives a guide. For example, for each 12"x12", use up to 2 Barricades. Etc -

Tangent to this, it seems that ZM is now 'intended' to be played on a 4x4 no matter the point level. The White Dwarf rules had a scaling size by points -
Just to answer the original question, I do see them periodically in my area (central Ohio). But I tend to stick with my gaming group. I don't do big events much these days (barring gaming conventions)

Siege of Cthonia thoughts
bushman101 replied to SkimaskMohawk's topic in + WARHAMMER: THE HORUS HERESY +
The Reinforcement points are an odd thing. The ZM games I have played, the first 2-3 turns are all movement and little to no action. This is due to navigating bending hallways and closed doors. In my mind (I haven't played the new ZM rules yet), Renforcement points will cause more units to lag behind. Sure, you can use points to flank and such, but points used to do that means putting less on the board in time. With all that said, I guessing the format will mean people will bring fewer but larger units (up to the limit allowed by ZM). -

Just got my book in the mail, and it looks pretty good. I like that there is a section describing what each Legion/Faction is doing in the Heresy despite not actively participating in the Seige of Cthonia. I'll really need to sit down and read the ZM rules and check for changes. I'll probably never use any of the new units in the book. I play BA, so the Decurions have little appeal. And the BA Inductii are just bad -

Any noticeable changes to ZM? My book is in the mail -
Are you going to build some Inductii?
bushman101 replied to Marshal Mittens's topic in + WARHAMMER: THE HORUS HERESY +
If they have line, that's not to bad. Some Legions got better rules than others. And so far, the BA one is just bad. Hopefully there will be something redeeming on the datasheet -

bushman101 replied to Marshal Mittens's topic in + WARHAMMER: THE HORUS HERESY +
I'm not sure I'm impressed with the BA Inductii. No sweeps for maybe Fear? And did I hear they don't score? I'll really have to see the full rules, but it's looking like 'no' for me -

bushman101 replied to Marshal Mittens's topic in + WARHAMMER: THE HORUS HERESY +
I've seen some of the abilities, but do we know points or weapon options? I'm not really sure what the Inductii will bring compared to what we already have. -
Speculation on the Horus Heresy Road Map?

I'm eager to try the ZM update in the new book (or the very least, have the rules in hardback) -
I painted some Termis. I've been enjoying Termis more this edition. They don't die as quickly as the previous edition.

Legion Command Squad - New Models
bushman101 replied to Etruscan's topic in + WARHAMMER: THE HORUS HERESY +
Ideally, it will be a box with 5 marines and a lot of weapons and dress up bits. Kind of like the old 40k Command box but x5. More likely, it will be more like the old 40k Vet box. Some weapons, but not a lot -
Speculation on the Horus Heresy Road Map?
bushman101 replied to Marshal Mittens's topic in + WARHAMMER: THE HORUS HERESY +
The mkIV Destroyers had extra armor plates on them, compared to mkIV Assault/Tact. Not saying they wouldn't make a upgrade for mkVI Destroyers, but they would be changing the precedent if they did.
