Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but if I take a bunch of Nurglings to make use of their ‘mischief’ rule, does this mean I lose the Battleforged DG benefits? Would I have to take them in a separate detachment? Saa...... .....or something like that

Finished the book whilst travelling back home on business and I have to say I was pleasently surprised. The insight into Colchisian culture was very compelling and the characters were well written and interesting. I've always had a soft spot for Lorgar and the words 'All I wanted was the truth' echoed though my head on every turn of the page however for me the highlight was the fleshing out of Kor Pharons character. I think from now on I'll not prejudge a book purely because it was written by author who's works I've not enjoyed so much in the past, as it's clear that Mr Thorpe has grown and developed his skills as a writer. I'll even buy Old Earth on this premise Saa...... ......or something like that

So. I bought a LE copy with much trepidation because of the author covering my favourite Primarch. My wife as a secret gift bought me a copy because she knew I was reluctant to buy it because of my bitching about the authors previous work within the Heresy. So now I have TWO LE copies of it and I can't bring myself to read either of them for concern of disappointment. Can someone please give me an overview and advise me if it'll be painful or not haha Someone without massive bias towards the series as a whole.......no names mentioned Saa....... .....or something like that

This is hands down the most inspiring modelling thread I've ever read. You've made the daunting parts of truescale seem achievable. I tip my hat to you Sir and thank you for the guide so far. Saa .......or something like that -

Well I finished it and I'm left feeling a little numb. Firstly I've gotta say, this guy writes Chaos well. Really well. Perhaps he should consider branching out deeper into tales of the ruinous powers rather than Blood Angels. Sanguinius was really well portrayed. I've always been a bit anti 'Primarchs exposition' as it humanises these Demi Gods too much for my liking, however this is a Primarch that can be humanised. I bit my lip as he confided in Horus about the BA curse, I gnashed my teeth as Horus told Ka'Banda that his brother had to die and I railed at the heartache Sanguinius felt knowing Horus had betrayed him..........the other BA characters......I couldn't give a rats ass about. That is where this book failed in my eyes. It doesn't suck, I enjoyed it. Quite a lot, I even jacked work today to finish it. It fleshed out a great part of the HH and gave me a Sanguinius I expected and gave me a glorious, dark and majestic Chaos. But the characters just wernt there to pad the void between Primarch action and Chaos glory Saa .....or something like that

I've gotta say too though.....pg 66.....Cador saying 'Throne's sake' made me think.....................uuuuuuuurgh learn your background Mr Blood Angel........or quit Quantum Leaping.....what 'Throne' are you refering to during this time period............. Damn I'm pedantic Saa ........or something like that

I've gotta say....I'm less than a hundred pages through. I've read this this thread with interest. I've read every HH book so far and have vocally expressed my opinions on shining stars such as The First Heretic and Prospero Burns (screw you haters) as well as travesties like BftA (I refuse to type its full name on principal)........but Fear to Tread has got me wet and unecessary .......... Horus and Sanguinius' interplay so far has made the 'end game' so much more painful already...........oh Horus....what did you do ........... Saa ....or something like that

Have you read Aurelian yet? If not, do so asap. I have though I only bought the 'silver' edition :) By portrayed I meant more 'visually depicted' I guess. Regardless of the justice A D-B has done to my favourite Primarch (and believe me I couldn't have wished for more), people still refer to him in my circle of friends, on forums etc as a 'weak' Primarch. It's great to see him elevated visually as well as in the written word :) Edit: another thing that strikes me as awesome in the artwork is that it's Lorgar doing the asswhooping and not Angron and though that doesn't diminish Angrons raw power in any way, that in itself highlights the sheer coolness of the XVII Primarch standing shoulder to shoulder in battle with the 'known' warmonger as an equal without being 'carried'. Ah Jesus. I mean cmon. I need a heads up for stuff like that. I clicked the link thinking 'yeah I'm sure it'll look quite good'. I was not prepared for the volume of WIN contained in one picture. It's so great to see Lorgar portrayed the way 'I' see him and not as the 'weakling Primarch' so many people think of him as. Dammit, I'm a 35 year old man I shouldn't be gushing like this over a picture but damn it's a fine piece of art. Saa .......or something like that

How exactly am I baiting him? By asking him a valid question? Asking a valid question and maintaining neutrality are not necessarily the same thing. There's at least three refs to Tyranid Hunters directly aimed at someone that you know has issues with this element of UM lore which is clearly not neutral :cuss That is your opinion I'm afriad. I of course approach everything in a neutral, calculated mannner. Although I do thank you for your little insight into Legatus's comment. I thank you. that's MY attempt at neutrality :cuss

@Gree.....for someone who repeatedly bangs on about his hallowed "I always post from a neutral stance" you're baiting Legatus pretty hard especially regarding Tyranid Hunters. @Legatus Then it would be impossible to disobey the suggestions of the Codex, since the Codex would have no suggestions for this situation. Great, isn't it? You just shot yourself in the foot regarding....*cough* Tyranid Hunters dude............. Saa
