Servitors energized
Bouargh posted a blog entry in AM Not-Stygies - A Blog about building a new Army
Hi folks, I needed some distraction from the black robes of my (populous and numerous) Night Goblins for the World that Was. Time to resume work on the AdMechs, starting with the Servitor clade and the kitbashed Seer I prepared in Sept. It is a small step into coming back into the fray of cybernetical sociopaths, knowing that I still have some models I initially bought for CtA25 but did not unbox yet. The Servitors have been painted as per my usual colour scheme. But this time I musta dmit that the blue pyjama is not necesarilly giving the best outlook. It is globally OK but I feel like the scheme that works on the Skitarii is a little bit out of phase on the Servitors. Probably because it lacks of the balance brought by the trenchcoats.. The same goes witht the Kataphrons, that were balanced by the tracks' colours. Her, well, I dunno. Let judge by yourself: a And some close ups: But who will benefit from this retinue? Well, what about another Seer? Of course I have more than I need so this one is a kind of extra: The pic is not that clear and you probably do not see the whole model. I made a bicolour scheme: bottom (legs and torso in fact) is a bronze (dry brushed) while the arms and paultrons are red with gold trim. It is a distinctive scheme vs. what I am used to apply for my Mechanicum priesthood. The idea behind is that this guy is an ordo reductor affiliate. Smashing hammer, laser cutter to break into fortifications and a pet servo skull... But I then met this piece of fluff: Ordo Machinum — Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum Which might be a seed for building up a small allied party I am thinking about for a while: this guy would become an augmented Inquisitor leading a small party of Deathwatch Marines as an elite force fighting (and surveying) the Mechanicum explorator force... I have some spare models gathered over the time that might be completed with a few Necromunda models in order to get a small retinue. It is time to search for these models and remind where I stored them last time... See you.- 5 comments

Hi Folks, After a big summer spent on Pointy Ears for CtA25 challenge, I swapped to the World that Was and focussed on my big back log of Night Gobelins. Painting these photosensitive evil dirty little things is not the most difficult color pallet. But batch painting is something common with GObs, and it might become, say, boring (?). After 3 mobs and 2 characters, I needed a break. I came back to the sociopathic cyborgs. just to be kept busy and change my mind. I had this set of Servitors from KT that needed being build. I made the assembly as a retinue for 40K, leaving apart the specialists and their bits so typical of KT. The assembly was smooth, event without instructions (I dropped it in the bin with other trash and realized to late that I did it...). Anotehr activity was kitbashing anotehr Seer. I had a left apart body of a techmarin with servoharness. The harness ended on a SW Iron Priest conversion 5 years ago. But the resin Body was still there. A good base for an Ordo Reductor aligned Seer. Head comes from Sicarian bitz. Big hamme has been built from Grey Knight Hadeberd, with MkIII 30k arms and SM vehicle crew paultrons. Bits from the Servitor clade accesories were used for the back pack, the Lascutter and the servo arm. Other bitz include mechadendrite from Sicarian (again), hammer head from SM assault squad, Servo skull from Devastators, and various bitz recovered from Skitarii sprues or cut from the EngineSeer I kitbashed last year (or is it already 2 years ago) to give him a Mining Lasr.. It will be a Admech character without robes, except for the hood and will probably end up very redish! The shame is that I already get 3 entries of each kind of Seer, so this one will be extranumerous. Unless I start building a Heresy era Mechanicus force some day... But it is time to go back to Night Gobs. I have plenty of Fanatics to be painted? And 5 more mobs. Minimum. See you when I will make another break into the 40k universe.

KitBash Time! EngineSeer at work
Bouargh posted a blog entry in Bouargh´s miniatures´ closet clean-up
After grabbing "accidentally" a GSC patrol box, on purpose to use the body to kitbash some IG regiment, I am potentially left with some bits inc. mining tools. I then remembered this pic, unless I decided that GSC bodies would do better base for IG than Orlock gangers BECAUSE of this pic: I am already the happy owner of enough Engineseers to fill all the slots in my AdMech army. And I have been left with one extra (remaining from a Patrol box), in desperate need for a purpose in its life of plastic toy soldier. Kitbashing it to get an oversized clamp and a mining laser looked ike a fun idea. And here is the result: The beauty of AdMech kits is the amount of left bitz you have once the models are built. For this one, I used a Skitarii arm, chopping away the rifle as right arm. Left arm is the spare arm from my mago, removing the serpenta. and servo arm has been relocated whille adding a small Kataphron mechanical limb to handle the laser will on rest after harvesting a quintal of noctilith... extra bits from grav canon of Kataphrons make the handles. As you can eventually appreciate, from this too dark pics bellow , it gets an oversized hydraulic clamp from GSC Metamorphs. A little bit otT maybe... To be painted in June, with the rest of my AdMechs, once starting the CtA challenge! To be continued...- 2 comments
