WarCom are pumping out news articles ready for the release of Secundus this Saturday. Today we have: Who are the Spyre Hunters? It's a look at the design process for the updated Spyrers and what you get on the sprues (but sadly no sprue shots). All told, an interesting article, but I'm rather sad they've chosen to just make them part of the Imperial House, rather than any of the Noble Houses. The second article, Undoing Perfection, talks about the design process for the new Malstrains. Another good article for the design process, and some info that (as expected) the Brood Scum heads fit all gang bodies, but seemingly work really well with Orlocks! For those concerned about GSC vs MIG (Malstrain Infected Gang) and GSC being binned, the article's gist is that GSC still exist, and despise the MIG. The models do look really freaky, and I'm really looking forward to their release! Despite their chat in the article, I still think I'm going to use either a Von Ryan Leaper or a Deathleaper head to change the Malstrain Alpha head and lean into the weird horror. Alternatively, use the Von Ryan for the Alpha and convert the Deathleaper into my Malstrain Patriarch! Also, the article touches on using a Malstrain gang outside Secundus. The takeaway is; it's not designed for wider Necromunda, but can be done provided everyone agrees. However (obviously), stuff like the Trading Post is off-limits. The MIG is what they want people to use, and I think the MIG have access to the Malstrain 'Stealer as a Brute choice, if I'm reading between the lines correctly. As an aside, they showed the original Space Crusade mission from WD145, and I recognised it straight away, as I have that issue and used that (with my friend) as a campaign mission for our game of Space Crusade years ago! It's good to see a throwaway mission from the past be relevant to today! I'll update this thread for Thursday and Friday, when I suspect we'll have more articles on Secundus. Edit: Other Secundus Threads on B&C; Preorder thread, Book of Desolation thread

After adding some Kataphron bitz to the ooP Pit Slaves bodies (see former blog entry), its time to paint the brain washed killing machines: The pallet I used is the same than for all other servitors, with some exceptions: these lads exhibit some serious parts of skin and no coats or areas suitable for the grey I use on my Skitariis. But in the end it is rather consistent in terms of general aspect. Skin was done with Kislev Flesh washed with Apothecary white. Not do decayed in aspect but give a small idea that being a Servitor is not especailly synonym of being healthy. Flesh is weak they say. And here are the 4 guies, freshly based: With some close-ups: The Kataphron kit is rich of spare bits ready for a lot of converting options. I gives a rather good overall aspect to thes rescued minis and modernize them quite a lot. Kuddo to the ones who put some kitbashing videos on Youtube as they inspired me,... quite a lot.

While looking for Eldar metal bits (see Call to Arms 2023 entries) I casualy encountered 4 bodies of old Necromunda Pit Slaves. They were probably coming from a swap I did years ago and I had forgotten these lads. But what to do with them??? Servitors! It is not that the unit itself ios really worth but at least it has character. So, as I was missing most arms, I refreshed these models´ extremities using spare bits from the Kataphron sprues. In order to stick to an AdMech flavour I set the Plasma culverins. Heavy bolters or Multimeltas are OK but I do not feel like they fit in the aesthetic of AdMech... Here is the result so far, prior to any painting (I decline responsability for the aspect of any prior painting): Plasmas were fitted on Breachers weapon blocks left (as I assemblied mine as Destroyers). The initial gluing was goofy so I added a HH SM back back to give volunme and equilibrate the whole stuff. Cannon fodder Servitors use the spares from the Techmarine´s servitors boxed set. The result is not worth of an art premium but they mostly fit their purpose, for not a single dime.
