From the album: The First Legion, sons of the Lion
THis Hydra was painted in a slightly different scheme to represent the unit sitting in a yard, unused, for a few years. Heavy rust powder was appied and fixed to this unit to give a heavily rusted apperance. The cannons and turret as well as the carriage are all magnetic but the platform was too heavy to stay up for long.-

From the album: The First Legion, sons of the Lion
This Hydra was painted to resemble a piece that had been under heavy sustained fire and is very fire blackened.-

From the album: The First Legion, sons of the Lion
This is a pre-finished pic of a pair of Hydras from Forgeworld that I got about 1999, and finished in 2013. I am using the Salt-and-Hairspray method for speed, as these were to go up on ebay. Base caot was black, sponged on three colors of rust, brown, tan and orange. Sprayed with hairspray and coated with corse salt grains. Red overcoat with yellow and black warning stripes. Fast pass with a toothbrush and hot water to remove salt and then light brush with rust powder and metallic details. They didn't go for as much as I wanted, only about 35/45$. Only one had a carriage, forgeworld was out of stock at the time.-
