So it's been probably years since I have put my face on these forums and it's probably time I get back to where it all started... I've had some very hectic tournaments in the last few years, focusing primarily on CSM but moved the start of 2016 to the loyalist and superior codex of SPACE MARINES! I've gone through a full circle event realising that as much as I do love Death Guard, they were not heavy on the chaos iconography like other chaos marines were so I went back and built a full army of loyalist kits with the preheresy scheme with a few worn out models but mostly basic painting on them. I ran with this on the CSM codex for a good two years, heavily investing in vindicators, land raider and terminators to get my work done and I performed well most games but then the codex creep came... Experiments with 4 Maulerfiends, Cypher in Spawn stars, and all the like left me feeling let down by the basic elements of the army and so the Emperors guiding light set me free. The leap into using preheresy models came almost 2 years ago because of their rugged and tough appearance plus being expensive they were not seen often at tournaments in this area so I took to it quickly and they suited my painting style - fast and washy! Within months I had made 50 marines and a few tanks as well as ordered 15 odd terminators, which is now in the 50 mark thanks to BAC and BOP box sets. My shift in the hobby though turned towards the hobby, where I found solace those earlier years when things in life just seemed tough, warhammer and particularly the building of terrain gave me a reason to be excited for tomorrow. https://www.facebook.com/DistrictTerra/ I put most of my stuff on here, been using it as a good creative release and have just in the last month moved in to a much bigger home where I can finally get some real work done and all those half finished projects can go to rest. Just to make sure there is enough spam in the post. I hope to reconnect again with those of you I may have lost, and make new friends along the way!!! Introduce yourself either here or FB. Looking forward to a good reunion.

A long time ago I had thought of building the Angels of Vengeance (because I thought black armor was the easiest to paint). I ended up with the Dark Angels because hey, who doesn't want to be the parent chapter? Now that I've got close to a completed 3rd company, it seemed to make sense to start transitioning back to building out the Angels of Vengeance, particularly with Primaris marine reinforcements, given how many casualties they sustained during the Massacre at Darkmor. As the story goes - the existing marines were all promoted up to the Dreadwing and Raptorwing, thus ensuring strong first/second companies to continue hunting the fallen. New marines, and leaders from the Dark Angels were seconded to the Angels of Vengeance to ensure continuation of their battle-line companies. Master Hadriel, formerly of the Dark Angels, now with the Angels of Vengeance leads his company of renown: Assisted by Codicier Itherael, testing the resolve of the new Primaris marines from Guilliman Interrogator-Chaplain Malthael to keep the faith Finally Apothecary Raziel, to ensure the gene-seed continues to flourish with these new marines. Excited to continue to build and share these guys as the journey continues!

++ INCOMING TRANSMISSION ++ Brothers, the dogs of Lorgar have shown their treachery today. Let them know that the Sons of Guilliman do not fall so easily, and make them pay for their betrayal of the Emperor in blood and death. Courage and Honour! ++ END TRANSMISSION ++ Here I go again.. Hi all, with the latest Primaris release firmly cementing my 40K hobby into a 30K hobby, I've decided to start a new WIP log based on updating my old 30K Ultramarines. Originally the marines that I have recently been true-scaling were for a 40K army so that the Classic Marines didn't look too short next to any Primaris Marines I was going to get, but I have set my heart on only focusing on the 30K side of things for now as I am feeling a bit disenfranchised with the current 40K setting. Therefore, everything I have worked on this past year is being retrofitted to make a new, slightly taller, AoD Ultramarines army (still using 8th Edition rules unfortunately as my main opponent only plays 8th Edition Orks). My old topic is here for anybody interested: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328330-the-atrocity-at-calth-the-38th-company/ I decided to restart my Ultras and scrap all the old army as I was not happy with the paint job I had done on them as I have since improved, and I've always wanted to make my Marines slightly taller than standard so they don't look so short compared to Imperial Guard etc. Just to kick things off I thought I would share a few of my favourite figures that I have been working on recently, but I will share more stuff over the coming weeks as I get deeper into the project. To begin with, this is my latest iteration of my homebrew character, Centurion Jay Burgii of the 38th Company. The name Jay Burgii is a play on my own real life name. I have a habit of creating characters that are meant to represent what I would like to be in the Warhammer universe. An as of yet unnamed Chaplain A Librarian for when Guilliman eventually re-allowed them And just some regular marines to show the scale of them compared to regular marines (Note that the red lines aren't perfect but are just there so you can get the gist of the size difference) Obviously there is a lot of work to be done in filling in the gaps and smoothing out the areas that I have shoved plasticard into, but it will all eventually get finished. I currently have all the parts to make 3 10-Man Tactical Squads, a 5-man command squad, and a contemptor dreadnought. I have also got my Sicaran Battle Tank and a WIP Leviathan Dreadnought that I would like to strip to start again, but have yet to build up the courage to do so. Thank you for looking all, and I hope to give you an update in the not too distant future. I have a habit of starting WIP logs and never getting very far with them, but hopefully I can stick to it this time. In my 17 years of the hobby I have yet to complete a fully painted army of any substantial size, which is something I really need to rectify. Especially now that I have finished University and have a full time job so I can actually afford to do so. Thank you for looking, Jay
