son of nocturne
Alrite Kikk! As ever your Iron Hands are looking marvelous, love the BA techmarine conversion, i think that that is my favourite model out of the BA range and you have done it justice there! You do realise that now you have started using Plastic card you will NEVER go back... I ran out a couple of months back and for about 3 weeks i was a bit... sensitive (*read* mental) so went over to my hoby shop and bought enough to last me about 2 years so that i NEVER have to go through that again! You doing a big squad of Sternguard or a 5 man squad? S.O.N. kikkala
Hehe, I was already wondering when you'd show up SoN ;). After getting into plasticard, I'm constantly using it :D. Addinationally, I'm already planning to purchase more plasticard, the amount I already have isn't just enough for drop pods... wait... did I just say it out loud :P. But enough rambling, not anything to say about libbie?? It was you who remember my wip librarian! ;) 4th member done. Family gets bigger. 4 out of 10 done, 6 to go. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1782682 Share on other sites

The Angelus Sanctus
The Sternguard are coming along great, very characterful for both IH and the fact they are Sternguard :tu: Also glad you used a proper left hand too :) I'm really liking your use of the plasticard as well, you've achieved some excellent effects with them. I should really try and finish up the painting i'm doing on one, i mean, once the model is painted black, thats like 3/4s of the work done :D Plus i do have a surprise of two coming up ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1782798 Share on other sites

The Angelus Sanctus
Ah, i know what you mean about busy weeks, been having a few myself, so my modelling has been pushed aside a bit as well... However, i'm at a loss as to how you can describe the 5th sternguard as "rushed" :). The model looks great and i'm really liking how you are branching out with the bionics and everything. Really giving them a solid appearance and theme Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1787502 Share on other sites

kikkala
@captain kantor & Captain Mick Thanks :). @TAS 5th sternguard is rushed, 'cause he has so many thing I'd redone entirely. But you can't get everything you want :P, so I hope that paintjob will correct modelling rushing. @ShotgunFacelift Hehee, thanks :D. @Desert Eagle Will do. Tack ;). Can paintjob help rushed conversion? Thank god that its weekend soon! happyhours
That 4th Stern is absolutely gorgeous; inspiring me to grab some straws and covert more =]] Do you have all these bits lying about? Or do you go to stores and buy, well little plasticy things? Master Toddius
They're coming along great. Alot of character and the metalics are really cool and gothic. Most of these conversion are simply stunning. That last heavy flamer member reminds me of the first iron man suit in the latest movie. Hes like a mad scientist wanting to get revenge for a fallen brother. :D I would say to add another bit of IH icons and/or purity seals to his chest plate. That should clean him up nicely. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1788079 Share on other sites
Asmodeus' Swordhand
That 4th one really struck me as awesome, kik. Beautiful work :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1788282 Share on other sites
Montuhotep
Damn you and your bionic goodness, damn you I say! :P Why are you so good at it and I suck totally? **wanders off, mumbling in frustration** Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1788306 Share on other sites
The Angelus Sanctus
Toddius had a good point about some extra work on the chest area as there are some dimples from where the GS work wasn't perfectly flat. However, the paint job has covered up every other imperfection well and the mini looks flawless :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1788569 Share on other sites
Shortsonfire79
Some pretty top notch stuff. Do you think we can get a group shot? Or 3 or 4 =-D Man..I hope I'm not like you... I just went back and read your whole thread..because when I first showed up, I didn't think that the first picture was too great...so I didn't waste my time with the rest of the thread. But now that I'm at a point where there's painted pieces (the page I had didn't have pictures at all) Everything is awesome. But like I said, I hope I'm not like you, I don't want to be pulling apart my Dark Angels for another army, because I really want to mount my Beamer on the Attack Bike...and the DA one is the only one I have =-P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1788645 Share on other sites
kikkala
@Snozz Hold your horses there ;), Sternguard ain't finished yet, there'll be 5 more of them. @happyhours Thanks. Yeah, I have lots of random stuff lying around, and last time I bought something was last year. :D @Master Toddius Thanks for tips, I went for purity seal and freehand aguilla. @Asmodeus' Swordhand Thanks dude. @Paladin7221 Practice and patience are the keys to success, and never be afraid of mistakes :). @TAS Thanks buddy, I didn't use GS on this model though ;). @Shortsonfire79 Thanks mate :). As Master Toddius suggested, more work on chest. Aguilla-freehand and purity seals, Vóila. Looks better already :D. Happy family. More Sternguard coming on next update. What? I told you that there'll be 10-man squad :D. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1788835 Share on other sites

Master Toddius
See, I would have never guessed to paint on a blue/white aguilla then add a blue purity seal. Now what was a little issue has turned into a great addition. The mode and accompany squad is beautifully done. ++ golf clap ++ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1789433 Share on other sites
The Angelus Sanctus
No GS? For some reason i can see you making an IH dreadnought using only bits of sprue now ;) The free hand aquila looks fantastic... I had to look at it for a few minutes just to see if you were pulling our legs and just glued a real one on :o. However the 5th Sternguard has come out beautifully :jaw: Can't wait to see the final 5! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/12/#findComment-1789475 Share on other sites
