New Apocalypse 50K point army WIP

Recommended Posts

The lower leg / lower thigh joint is free moving and is held up in position by the knee piston, but any weight or over balance will pull the joint apart

The lower thigh / upper thigh joint is a ratchet type of joint where ridges help to stabilise the positioning, but, again any extra movement will pull the joint apart

The pins just reinforce the stability while I position the pose and then glue in place... they are not required for the construction normally... it is my choice to multiple experiment while I build and before I glue the final selection

The pins are about 6-8mm long and the heads are on and visible so that I can pull them out for the painting / gluing stages

Once I do pull them out, I will replace them with a pin without a head and will not be able to remove it again... ever

This pin will in fact fill the hole, visibly... but don't forget, it's only 1mm

The thing is that they are still dry fit... I can't be extreme at the moment, these stances are for reference

All I can do right now is move forward or back... if I move sideways, the hips will fall apart

As I said, this part of the layout is for experimenting... because I drilled out the pistons and free wheel pinned the joints, I can do anything until I actuall glue

Fantastic work!!!! The dedication this project demands and receives is astounding especially when you take into consideration the other things going on in your life.

WELL DONE YOU!!!!! :whistling:

As to the poses of the legs I assume that the center leg set looks pigeon toed because it was moved? It would be cool to see if the legs could be positioned as if it was running or at least moving, but will that pose support the rest of the model? I look forward to seeing more of your magic

Dead???

Not a chance...

I've built a couple of Baneblades and magnetised them to become Hellhammers... camera broke, pix to follow soon

I've scored another set of Banblade turret sprues and am designing a Stormhammer... thinking of using a Shadowsword hull... in the pix from Epic days, the Stormhammer lookes more like it than it does a baneblade hull (rear deck is further back

My Warhound Titans are moving along nicely... working on pin hinges for the toes

I've started back on making a couple more IG figs (only a few out of 500 owned)

For those that remember my plight... having a mate as a border... well he finally left a couple of weeks ago and I'm getting my games room back together

DEAD... over my dead body mate

Slow yes... dead never

This is amazing work i'm loving the progress and Titans ;)! what more can you add and draft in. Soon you will be putting out wanted minature painters posters. So you can get it all painted. This year, i'm doing roughly the same thing, saving up and by all my units at once probably not a 50k point army more along the lines of 5 - 6k got so much so far. But still deciding on chapter either Blood Angels or Imp Fists

Regards

Matt

This is the greatest WIP thread ever! You sir are a god amongst men with what you're doing. Who cares about painting? If i was you once i have made every thing, i'd set them up, sit in the middle and laugh manically to myself. Upon completion i think you need to contatc GW and get an award or at very least your own WD article. Keep going, you inspire the rest of us to glory!

Courage and Hnour my friend!
