Guest WG Vrox
So I am working on modeling a unit that represents True Grit and was looking for some ideas from all of ya. Please post pics that show's your best GH True Grit model, meaning using the Bolter in one hand while weilding a CC weapon. Wolf89
I just use bolt pistol arms and hands then cut off the BP and attach a bolter. :D The guy in the picture shows one of my 13th co. grey slayers with true grit, he's got it slung down while holding his chain sword up ready to use. ;) http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/7260/truegritgreyslayerdi6.png Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150380-true-grit/#findComment-1747701 Share on other sites
mailliw
I want to make my new grey hunters have chainsword bayonets like in gears of war however I am unsure as to whether some players would be analy retentive in letting me use the models as grey hunters with a Bolter and close combat weapon. What do you guys think? In anycase I think that would be a cool idea in representing true grit. There have been previous posts about true grit and how to represent it, and a lot of players have been using the bayonet method you just mentioned and they've had no trouble at all with other players using it. I say go for it, they looked pretty cool, just a combat knife on the end of the bolter. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150380-true-grit/#findComment-1747708 Share on other sites
Dark Bjoern
@Vrox: You had been stupid enough to ask for pics. So i bore you all again with my old GH pics. :) ;) http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/GreyHunter6.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/GreyHunter5.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/GreyHunter4.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/GreyHunter3.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/GreyHunter2.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/GreyHunter1.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/GreyHunter7Front.jpg At the end i used the bp and ccw arms from BC and Assault squad boxes. Guest WG Vrox
Ok, I wanted to post a picture of the one I have so far, but I have never done such a thing. Went looking for how to/where to upload a picture and cant find a tutorial which prob means its easy as turning a screw, I just don't know where that screw is. Does anyone have a walk through on how to post/upload a picture? Battle_Wolf
hello, well there is a tutorial here on how to post pics http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=141716 as well as this there is something in the librarium on how to make chainsaw bayonets for bolters, if you havent already seen it. i dont think people will mind, you might have to point it out to them so no confusion, i would actually bet more people would ask how you did it cause as you said, it is a cool ide Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150380-true-grit/#findComment-1747806 Share on other sites

Bjorn Darkwolf
all of my GH packs are representing true grit. i just buy BC boxes and use helmets, and bolters from other sprues/friends/ebay. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh264/DarkPhoenix_48/Space%20Wolves/Picture091.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150380-true-grit/#findComment-1747822 Share on other sites

Kurasuke
The bolter arm seems to be posed in a very unnatural way. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150380-true-grit/#findComment-1747948 Share on other sites
Guest WG Vrox
I think if you try to imitate the pose, you will see it's pretty close to the way it should be elbow and all, here is a different angle http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq71/WG_Vrox/TrueGrit2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150380-true-grit/#findComment-1747977 Share on other sites
Brother SRM
I typically model all my Grey Hunters with bolters in hand and one of the rather large Space Wolf knives from the accessory sprue somewhere on their armor. Usually they'll have it on their leg or waist for quick access. For Wolf Guard/power weapon guys, I just replace the bolt pistol on a bolt pistol arm with a bolter. Guest WG Vrox
ok usually I don't paint until I have the squad done but couldn't help myself. http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq71/WG_Vrox/TrueGrit31.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150380-true-grit/#findComment-1748957 Share on other sites
WolfLordLars
Generally, I just use 'regular' marines and put a knife on them, but I was also converting up several used armies, so needed the CCW without tearing them apart. Otherwise, like Wolf, I just use the BP arm and cut and glue a bolter on. Guest WG Vrox
Thanks Barek, working on more but will wait till I have the squad done for more pictures. I was thinking of doing a model with a Bolter and a Bolt Pistol the Bolt Pistol being the CCW. Since C: SM now allows the use of either the BG or BP in combat, would this cause issues? Thorgrim Blackwolf
I have a 'John Woo' style Grey Hunter with Bolter and BP in one of my squads. Nobody has any issues with me using him WYSIWYG and I've had positive comments on him. He always seems to survive my games some how, maybe its his uber coolness :( :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150380-true-grit/#findComment-1749351 Share on other sites
Guest WG Vrox
Any chance I could get you to post a picture of him, would like to see what you did with him? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150380-true-grit/#findComment-1749381 Share on other sites
Wolf89
Nice work there Vrox, only thing is he's a bit too "bright" still for my taste, darken in between the raised and recess areas for a better effect, otherwise he looks more like a white consul over a Space Wolf... and we don't want that. :( Great pose too, really neat.
