So I am working on modeling a unit that represents True Grit and was looking for some ideas from all of ya.

Please post pics that show's your best GH True Grit model, meaning using the Bolter in one hand while weilding a CC weapon.

I want to make my new grey hunters have chainsword bayonets like in gears of war however I am unsure as to whether some players would be analy retentive in letting me use the models as grey hunters with a Bolter and close combat weapon. What do you guys think? In anycase I think that would be a cool idea in representing true grit.

There have been previous posts about true grit and how to represent it, and a lot of players have been using the bayonet method you just mentioned and they've had no trouble at all with other players using it. I say go for it, they looked pretty cool, just a combat knife on the end of the bolter. :D

Ok, I wanted to post a picture of the one I have so far, but I have never done such a thing. Went looking for how to/where to upload a picture and cant find a tutorial which prob means its easy as turning a screw, I just don't know where that screw is. Does anyone have a walk through on how to post/upload a picture?

as well as this there is something in the librarium on how to make chainsaw bayonets for bolters, if you havent already seen it. i dont think people will mind, you might have to point it out to them so no confusion, i would actually bet more people would ask how you did it cause as you said, it is a cool ide

I think if you try to imitate the pose, you will see it's pretty close to the way it should be elbow and all, here is a different angle

I typically model all my Grey Hunters with bolters in hand and one of the rather large Space Wolf knives from the accessory sprue somewhere on their armor. Usually they'll have it on their leg or waist for quick access. For Wolf Guard/power weapon guys, I just replace the bolt pistol on a bolt pistol arm with a bolter.

ok usually I don't paint until I have the squad done but couldn't help myself.

Generally, I just use 'regular' marines and put a knife on them, but I was also converting up several used armies, so needed the CCW without tearing them apart.

Otherwise, like Wolf, I just use the BP arm and cut and glue a bolter on.

Thanks Barek, working on more but will wait till I have the squad done for more pictures.

I was thinking of doing a model with a Bolter and a Bolt Pistol the Bolt Pistol being the CCW. Since C: SM now allows the use of either the BG or BP in combat, would this cause issues?

Nice work there Vrox, only thing is he's a bit too "bright" still for my taste, darken in between the raised and recess areas for a better effect, otherwise he looks more like a white consul over a Space Wolf... and we don't want that. :(

Great pose too, really neat.

Paint job isn't brilliant, but here's my "John Woo" Grey Hunter:
