I am suddenly gripped by a compulsion to spend a lot of money on pre-heresy Alpha Legion marines. ;)

At least it'll stop me wanting Pre-Heresy Salamanders. Or at least until I go back a page or so. ;)

EDIT: The cover art of the Dornian Heresy book is geniunely cool. I will personally fight anyone who says otherwise. :P

Oh my effing God.

I am in love with you Mister.

All of them, so.. shiny and awesome. Although I'm a BA-player at heart, I feel that your Dorn is so far the greatest. The one Primarch I didn't really know how to visualize myself.

Brilliant Mister, I salute you.

My valiant brothers...

These are coming at more regular intervals than the last I had posted, so I hope that's keeping you happy and still excited to see the completion of this project. I'm almost there and I have mixed feelings as I'm plunging into the final few; on one hand, I feel relieved, because this has been a titanic endeavour that's consumed a lot of my time. But, on the other hand, I'm happy that I've had the opportunity to experiment with a lot of new things, different techniques and angles as well as developing more consistently my skills as a storyteller and designer. To give these steps forward whilst illustrating the Primarchs is truly a blessing.

As usual, I'd like to thank you all for the enormous support you've shown me and the Moderators of the boards for tolerating the constant threadomancy brought upon the forum's front page; I hope the artwork is wirth the trouble. I wish I could reply to each and everyone of you, as I used to, but my time is consumed with work and my first baby's coming in a few weeks, so I hope you understand. Know that every bit of insight and critiques is noted and I do sit with expectation in front of my monitor when I open up the B&Cs Hall of Honor forum to see what you've thought of my latest addittions.

And speaking of which, after that rather long introduction, here's what I've come to show you today:

I'm sure you'll recognise this angry fellow right away. Yes, he's Angron, Primarch of the bloody World Eaters.

As I said elsewhere, I'm quite proud of how this illustration one turned out, especially considering I did take a lot of liberties with it.

There's an official representation of Angron, which I didn't hold too close to my chest when coming up with my own vision. To me, his gladiatorial past was paramount to the character as well as the whole anger stance he should have. On top of that, I also envisioned this Primarch to be like Alpharius: closer to the rank and file soldier than high up above them. Getting dirty is a must for a leader who's watched in horror how all of his battle brothers were slaughtered in his homeworld.

There are a few details I'd like to point out and which hold particular interest to me: the gory axe versus the white of his armour are something I love. I thought about the grim fact that white armour would likely be moist with blood all the time, making it more noticeable and terrible to behold; I chose it over the gold of the official.

The tattoos are also something I'm fond of. From afar it looks like it's blood, but when you look closely you see they have a pattern. Thus, he looks as if his whole face was drenched in blood. Also, I've featured a stubble on him as well. I didn't reckon he'd be the clean type of Primarch after all.

The background is a homage to his gladiatorial roots and the whole design of his artificer armour is also meant to look light and permit a vast ammount of speed when in close combat. I wanted Angron to look like he could outrun you easily, despite being a terrible giant.

So, I hope you enjoy this rendition, C&C is always more than welcome and stay tuned for the last illustrations of this project!

Aerion.-

That leaves you Corax, Lorgar, Curze and the Smurf.

Amazing job from the start.

Not true, if you look on his one of his two links, he has Konrad Curze in there somewhere.

The pieces of Curze there however are from before Nic went full-color so he has yet to remake Curze in this "new" fashion :(

Between you and Slaine I got my work cut out for me on the art section. :D but seriously your artwork is awesome sir! Makes me get off my bum and get back to the drawing board every time I see your work. Its a true inspiration to see someone as good as you tackle ALL of the Primarchs. I have to say your depictions of the Lion and Sanguinus are among my favorites, can't wait to see the Night Haunter! Also good luck and congrats on your child! And may you continue to grace us with your art.
So, I just thought of this; soon you'll have all the primarchs done but, I have noticed that you have two versions of Horus (A "good" and "evil" version if you would allow me to be so bold). Now forgiving the horrible grammar, I think that you should do an "evil" version of all the other primarch's that turn from the Emperor's light, just to be consistent.

Hey, congratulations. I doubt I'm alone when I say I think the wait is certainly worth it. These pictures are fantastic!

I'm suddenly gripped by a compulsion to buy World Eaters... I think there's a pattern developing here. ;)
