{OOC- Yeah sorry about that... I got over the flu well enough, but my son got an ear infection on the way. Won't let me put him down. Lol... It'll probably take me an hour or more to type this out...}

{Day 3, 1230 TST- Thinderhawk of the Guardians of the Covenant}

With a sigh of frustration Inquisitor Decklan activated the vox mic once more. " Very well marines but know this when you want to get off this rock you will answer this conclave's questions there is no other way out of this system. And before you tell me that inquisitorial orders prohibit it, I am of the Ordo Malleus specifically charged to erase any daemonic presence on this planet. As far as the Malleus go I'm the lead here. Whatever your mission may be you and the inquisitor who ordered this will have to speak to me before this is over. Emperor guide you well." Killing the vox line Decklan hung the headset back up and turned to the techmarine, " Have the pilot get us out of here please. Set course for the drop off point."

"Appraise Ryas of this and advise he find out what got them in system." And with that Decklan sat back down near the auspex. After a few moments he unclasped the pouch on his belt and drew an onyx card from his tarot. On its face a daemon stared back, one of perverse beauty and utter malice. He put the card back and clasped the pouch tight. " Maybe some "mercy" killing will set the mood right." He chuckled to himself as he pondered on what was to come and the surprise sure to be on the traitors face before the end.

Inquisitor Draken breathed a heavy sigh of releif. It surely wasn't a permenant solution, but at least it bought them time to get the information that he needed. Within a few more moments, the engines of their own four thunderhawks were heard over the unceasing rainstorm above their heads. Walking out into the dull, muted daylight, he watched as the transports not only drop off the manticore missile turrets, but the two razorbacks, complete with their devestator crews. As the two Gunships landed beside their transporter brethren, the crews began to exit the thunderhawks to prepare the defense of their new base of operations. Out of the transports themselves, two squads of Stormtroopers exited into the rain. One particular moving in a precise manner towards the Inquisitor. "Lord Draken, the full ground team has finally arrived." Reported the sergeant, his military manner impeccable. Nodding to the Sergeant, Hannibal watched as the stormtroopers began to move and set up the Manticore turrets. "Expecting company Lord?" The sergeant asked, his crisp voice enough to make even the hardest of the veterans of the Crimson Moons to look up from what they were doing. Shaking his head, Hannibal looked off to the east. "No, not yet. Though we may have some troubles before we can continue on in our mission. What are the astropathic signals reporting?" He asked folding his arms as he watched the final components of the base were set up. "Strange readings to say the least Lord, various readings indicate that the warp is starting to become more turbulent, quite possibly a daemonic incursion will be taking place soon. It could also indicate the great enemy might have been called by something, though we cannot be sure." The sergeant said, then added. "Another item of interest Lord, it appears in trying to contact you, one of the Astropaths was killed, might there be something that would concern us here?" He asked, watching Inquisitor Draken intently. Looking at the sergeant he thought for a moment. " It could be a psychic blanket on the planet by the Inquisitors here. There is definitely something very wrong about this world, after we are finished here, we will most likely conduct exterminatus on this Emperor-forsaken planet. But first we must find one of the radicals said to be on the planet.

"You mean other than you?" Asked the chaplin, walking up behind the two. Smiling, he shook his head. "You should know by know friend I did not choose this fate. Nor did any of us." He replied, turning to regard the Chaplin. Looking past the chaplin, he noticed the Host shambling up from behind. "Friend, we have heard from others, they feast upon the beast, your friends seem to be walking into a trap we think." It said, twitching slightly. The sergeant looked between the three, then nodded "I'll tell my men to prepare for long nights ahead then. We shall be ready for any threat Lord." He said, turning to make his way back to the two squads unpacking gear from the transports. Watching him go, Hannibal sighed.

"Long nights indeed..."

evidence suggests he is consorting with the Xenos known as the Tau.

Two things. One, there are no Tau. Kroot Mercenary army only (we're on the other side of the galaxy from the Tau Empire, and only the Kroot can use 'proper' warp travel.

Second, you don't know about the Kroot until Tyrak is attacked at his rendezvous. I was expecting that not to have happened yet, but if you like I will move it forward. If you want that to be the case, then the Imperial Navy and Exorcists Chapter attacked him and his fleet at the rendezvous, only his base was destroyed while his fleet fled. Kroot squads faced by the Exorcists in the base point to Tyrak's involvement with the Kroot Mercenaries.

OOC: You missed the part in a far earlier post then where my Cobra Destroyer (before the my fleet arrived) where it's long rang scanners detected something similar to the Tau's warp drive. Thus the "consorting with Tau" is merely what Ryas assumes the evidence means, not what actually is. :down:

I know you did, but Kroot are capable of full warp travel. Tau are not. Whatever ship you detected skipping off the warp has nothing to do with me. Link. Look under the entry for the Kroot Warsphere.

I know that, the Inquisitor doesn't, and being a "Pariah" he can't exactly go an ask an astropath to investigate without them screaming insanely at him.

So, if the Tau aren't involved with me, are the Tau are about to turn up where you are? :lol: Has Tyrak inadvertently left the party just in time?

*Shrugs* Who knows, i'm using an RPG "encounter" table for half my stuff (its how Ryas' crew detected the 'bounce' in the first place)

{Day 3, 1300 TST- Thunderhawk of the Guardians of the Covenant}

The clearing was just south of the predetermined ruins, a crater dug out by a random lance strike from the day before. The rain made the ground slick and everything smelt of ozone and glass. The thunderhawk landed with a grace unlike that of most super-heavy fliers a sure sign of a great pilot, but the inquisitors didn't have time to marvel at it. The ramp hit the dirt with a whine of winches not used to the moisture and swiftly five armored giants in power armor swept out and scanned the perimeter with guns trained. After the Astartes came the Inquisitorial party not as impressive a sight but one that carried just as much importance. When all had disembarked the group moved swiftly to the northern edge of the crater under cover of the trees that hadn't been vaporized. The thunderhawk gunned its engines and flew away chased by two valkyries.

"Keep your eyes open and weapons ready, we don't know what we're gonna find here. Spearhead formation lets get this traitor and be done with this." Said Inquisitor Decklan as he racked the slides on his twin bolt pistols. And with that the party headed north out into the scorched jungle towards the temple hiding their prey.

(OOC- I left this crazy open. Didn't know who was running the ambushers or for that matter the orks on the other side of the temple or the daemons or what-not. :) Just try not to inflict too many casualties. :D )

I hope that the map helps out people. Anyway INQ D you won't need to worry about daemons or orks showing up as that the orks aren't really moving and the daemons have been ordered not to.

[ooc]That sounds about right. Also Ripath, no need for that, they can just take it if they want it :P Sucks for the guard!

"Oh, fething wonderful. Another combat deployment, and this time to hunt down an Inquisitor. I hope the Emperor is watching this, and will soon bless me with vacation time on a paradise world..." The woldiers under her command laughed a bit, although they all felt the same way. Still, orders were orders-- they arrived with the Inquisitorial force, attempting to hunt down Tyrak and others.

Basavriuk. Tyrak's gone off with his rogue fleet, whilst Basavriuk is still stuck on the planet. If you send a ship after Tyrak you will break the blockade of the planet, and stand to lose both Tyrak and Basavriuk. Not sending a ship means you lose Tyrak (although the Imperium hopes to pick him up at his rendezvous point) but get to keep Basavriuk. It's something Tyrak noted when he was carrying out his plan.

He'll be caught later, like all good heretics. :P

Inquisitor =D=, is Inquisitor Hayes with you? :huh: I'm confused as to whose Thunderhawk I was getting a lift in.

(OOC)- From what I remember the marines(The emperors chosen's group) volunteered their thunderhawk as a transport and to whom the valkyries belong volunteered them for escort... I'm not sure its hard to keep up with so many peoples perspectives and stories. I find myself needing three pages open just to get things as right as I can. Originally I just wanted to take the valkyries but a thunderhawk is a big and welcome upgrade for the inquisition.

As for where we are I have placed us just south of the temple in which Basavriuk is hiding so that we may forward the story a little. I'm remiss to acknowledge it but Shunch is not going to return to us, I would like to ask that if someone feels they could, run the heretics group. {nudge nudge, CoughTyrakCaugh.... :) } If no-one else I could give it a try. I'm just not that good at evil... :P

Hope that clears it up a little.

Oh and yes, you did send Hayes with us, everyone on the Thunderhawk was everyone who wanted to go. I never did get very many replies so I've left it very open to newer people by not including names or numbers (Save for the marines.). From what I'm to understand a Thunderhawk can seat 30+ people so there's room to go around. Citation!

I would like to ask that if someone feels they could, run the heretics group. {nudge nudge, CoughTyrakCaugh.... ;) }

I could run the heretics if you want, but itif you mean with Inquisitor Tyrak, oh no.

Tyrak is a much more complex Radical than your average Chaos-using daemon-summoning Radical. He's taken the whole idea that the Inquisition does what is necessary even though it is morally wrong to a much higher level - he knows it's wrong, he knows there is no salvation for him, but he does it anyway for the sake of the Imperium. That fact that that will do more harm than good, and he can't see that, is what makes him a hypocrite. He's going to end up sparking a much longer reaction than he knows.

Furthermore, any Radical I do will never break their Ordo-specific oaths. Like it or not, Tyrak has not betrayed the Ordo Malleus. If anything he has betrayed the Imperium at large in a bid to further the aims of the Ordo Malleus. Taking charge of the Maeroc heretics would break that cycle. Plus he's off elsewhere, and with a rather large fleet in tow.

If you want me, GMT, to do the heretics, then I'll need to know more about Basavriuk and what he's up to. I don't want to disrespect him.

*OOC*

How about we just say Basavriuk escaped off planet and someone makes up a new immediate threat that we all know about (so that we don't go after Basavriuk). That way if Shunch ever does come back he can. Not looking likely right now I know, but it seems the easiest option anyway.

Could we tie that in with the Ork Hulk? Part of Tyrak's rationale for leaving as he did was that the Conclave couldn't spare a ship to follow him without breaking the planetary blockade and losing Basavriuk. Plus, I think someone had a fleet inbound. Under Admiral Dress, I believe?

*OOC*

I suppose the very presence of the orks would prevent most of us leaving the planet, but we'd still need someone to come forward as the big bad. Stanisluas (not sure if I spelt that right, sorry) is looking to be the most likely target for now, but we'd have to write it in that we are making him our primary target.

OOC: That fleets already arrived, its mine and is where Ryas is currently commanding from. (The Battleship)

yes well I'm surprised that more inquisitors haven't noticed the big four kilometer wide shield thats visible to the naked eye. or the fact that it is psyker magic. Also the fact that tyrak put out a warrant for him. wait if an Inquisitor puts out a warrant for someone then goes traitor, does the warrant stay?

I assume so. Remember Stanislaus has not been declared a traitor or anything, he is wanted for questioning. His only status to the Conclave is "hostile".
