Gritty looking army, very much in keeping with the SW fluff.

I like the mud pigments on the vindi, but the same needs to be done to the tracks.

really looking forward to the finished results of the pred..

That is pretty amazing... I really need to learn how to use green stuff, perhaps you could pm me giving me some ideas? I really need to learn lol, the most green stuff i have done is GS some holes when i glued canis together.

Things i wanna no is like what conditions u need to keep the gs in, i usually keep mine in a cup of water when sculpting.

I really need help lol

Well, what do we have here.

Insane looking conversions and nice paintjobs for sure ;) , very inspirational work brother.

The powders on the vindi-shield look awesome from here, but as stated before, you need to do it on the tracks as well.

Which powders do you use, FW?And most importantly how did you apply them and does it hold?

Thanks in advance, already left a giant barrel of wolfwhiz in your other thread as bait ;) .

Jeez its been a while but I'm not dead just been busy with new job and other oddities of life.

@Bulwieh They are just artists pastels that I rubbed over an old sieve for ages to get them into a powder. Its not great but its certainly cheaper (its also why there are some larger flecks in there). I used black, two shade of brown, grey, a yellow and some red and just mixed them together in a tub to get several shades that I wanted. I used the FW pics as a rough guide to the colours I was aiming for btw. Then I used the techniques in this video tut http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx1e6ooh8PA . Its suprisingly simple to do.

@The son of Russ I just mix up small amounts of GS and work my way through the little pile. When I need more I mix more up. I don't have any spcial way of keeping it and whilst I know some of my friends keep it moist (either by having it in their mouth or in water as you do) I don't bother.

Theres a few different tuts on this link http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/kb.php?mode=cat&cat=14 and they cater for different abilities. I've not read through many but they are supposed to be pretty good. Failing that a quick search through our very own modelling section should get you some tips and hints.

@Warhorse very much appreciated, always nice to have some freshly cooked grub.

@Lord Ragnarok, ShotgunFacelift, Kaneda21, Wolf Lord Karulfr and Grimblood thanks for the kind words guys.

Without further ado, heres the altest shots of my Vindi and Pred. Obviously vindi is further long, just need to finish off the skulls and storm bolter and I think its there...

As you can see I have found my camera's lead so I should be able to update the freehand bits too soon.

I apologise for the dustiness of the models, I've been redecorating and I didn't wipe them off before I took the pictures which is why they look a little fuzzy on some of the close ups.

Well, good that you're back brother. Nice painting and dusting on the preds, good job.

Did you bring them to good use in games in 5th ed. yet?

Can't wait for you to update the freehand thread *bouncing from one asscheek to the other* :) .

ok, small update. I've started work on my Rune Priest again, I also thought I would show a couple of my GHs.

Oh and I scrapped one of my WG and started again.

Rune Priest. I know you'veseen this before but I thought I would show off a few of the bits I've sculpted on him.

The start of my new WG. I scraped the guy with the old Russ head and GS armour in place of this one. looks stockier. Thanks to The Darker for the torso.

The head is from an Avatars of War model (I know the picture is a bit shoddy).

Some GHs. The one with the small head and meltagun will get some GS hair... and a neck.

http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp86/stinkenheim/DSC01360.jpg

This is the basic wolf totem, the three I have in my army will have different pelts and talismans sculpted on, but they will all be back mounted.

Oh and a little shot as to a one off model I'm making. Will likely end up on a certain auction site when finished. Cookie to the firt person to guess his identity.

@ Bulweih Yeah I've played a fair few games of 5th. won all but one of them, so I'm doing well with the new dex. Recently been playing nids a lotmore though so they haven't taken to the field recently.

Holy God damn smokes...awesome work man, I loved all of it, the lord with the dwarven hammer and classic looking shield is deffo my favourite, cant wait to see the wip on the guy with the half metal face finished...i have one of those heads in my army but i constantly shy away from painting him .... i dont even like painting normal bare heads lol.

Keep it coming tho man it certainly is inspiring... im off to paint :(

any way, been busy today with gluing bits together and writing a tut on sculpting fur, but heres a shot of my WIP runepriest...

hes meant to look old and hunched, as though his powers are taking their strength from him. hes meant to be leaning on his staff and using it for support more than as a weapon.

i know hes looking quite barren at the moment, but he will get more charms and wolf tail talismans than any other model in my army, he will also be one of the most heavily cloaked models, with only the wolf priest having more wolf pelts than him. i basically want him to look like an oap ;)

I really like this guy, and especially when you load him up with GS.

"hes meant to look old and hunched, as though his powers are taking their strength from him. hes meant to be leaning on his staff and using it for support more than as a weapon."

Though I see what you are doing, before I read your thoughts on him, I thought of him as hunkering down, tapping into the World Wolf, grounded by his staff and unleashing some serious ¡FZzzapp!

.... what is an oap?....

@ wolf lord digby nice try but nope.

@ marshal yeah some of my friends are a bit unsure about the old man look, I quite like your idea about him focussing his powers... might use that when people complain about marines not growing old :D

By the way, oap means old aged pensioner, he's drawing his pension and managed to get a bus pass and a discount card for B&Q :D

@ grey mage They didn't take too long to get to that stage to be honest.

I sprayed them black and basecoated them scorched brown. I then used the big flat tankbrush to heavily drybrush them my special mix. Then a couple of drybrushed highlights and the main colour was finished.

The weapons were basecoated and given a few washes before edge highlighting boltgun and then chainmail.

The freehand and scratches were then applied, and lastly I started putting the powders on.

Probably about 2 hours max for the pred, and a bit longer on the vindi but only because I kept going back with powders. So I will probably spend another 30mins-1 hour on the pred before its done.

Tried searching around, but is there a guide that you have posted on how you paint your power armour and just Space Wolves in general? Have been trying to come up or find a paint scheme for ages for my Adepticon army and this one looks just too good not to try.

O.k guys, sorry it's been so long since the last update.

What with my new job and not playing much I kind of slacked on the whole hobby side but rest assured I'm slowly getting back into the swing again.

Also apologies to Lord Ragnarok, I know I said Sunday but I went to the pub instead, surely as a fellow wolf you can forgive my desire to consume vast quantaties of ale :)

Also apologies if the images are pretty large, will try and egt smaller shots sorted when I get time. And also sorry about the glare from the flash... think that's everything I've got to apologise for :D

Rightyho, here's a couple of shots of my terminators.

This guy was the one who had two thunder hammers. I wasn't quite happy with the posing and got hold of some lovely shields by Scibor so thought, 'What the hey, make him fully WYSIWYG' so he now has a thunder hammer and storm shield.

http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp86/stinkenheim/IMG_0189.jpg

Then theres anopther guy, basically just showing off the shield. I'm very pleased with how they look and would recomend them to anyone looking for decent storm shields.

http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp86/stinkenheim/IMG_0191.jpg

Then there is one of the power armoured Wolf Guard Pack Leaders. This is to replace the one I was least happy with (the guy who had Leman Russ' head). Much more pleased although there is some bad news too.. but first the pictures.

http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp86/stinkenheim/IMG_0194.jpg

O.k, the bad news with regards to this guy (apart from the fact that I used another limited edition model for the axe head) is that he now no longer has a place in my list.

I've finally decided to ditch all my power armoured Wolf Guard, as much as I liked my conversions. Instead I am replacing them with terminator armoured Wolf Guard, each with poer fists and storm bolters. Harder hitting, and more survivable (although I am losing Sweeping advance, swings and roundabouts).

I'm still working on most of them but I am showing you the start of one. I think I should be able to arm him with dual power fists (already filing down Calgar's arms) so I wanted him to look a bit more fierce. Ignore the legs, it's only the torso that has had any work done so far.

http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp86/stinkenheim/IMG_0199.jpg

Now onto some Grey Hunters, first up is one of my wolf totem models. Many thanks to The Darker for the lovely torso (also used one on the PA Wolf Guard above).

Since these shots were taken I have now finished his banner so I will try my darndest not to wait so long before updates to show it off.

http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp86/stinkenheim/IMG_0207.jpg

Here are a couple of other Grey Hunters. However since I modelled them and added in the TDA WG I no longer require the power fist models. Curses to my ever changing list. I will still keep them though, just in case I go back.

http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp86/stinkenheim/IMG_0201.jpg

Then there are two of my Mark of the Wulfen models. Glad to finally put the lightning claw wielding Wolf Guard to use...

http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp86/stinkenheim/IMG_0186.jpg

http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp86/stinkenheim/IMG_0187.jpg

Right, I think that's it... Oh I have also started painting my Rune Priest, so I will try and get shots up when He is done (so far nearly finished the main body and face. Just weapon and backpack/pelt to go).

Again, sorry for the delay guys. Have this rather large keg of ale on me, I promise it's nearly full *burps*

Oooh, nearly forgot the Long Fangs,. Not much done but thought I would post it while I'm here ^_^ They are all getting either older looking armour, or more bionics than my regular marines.

Andy

Hail brother!

Good ale you got here.

Long time, no see....it's good to know you're back on the horse...err wolf :D .

As always you provide inspirational work, thumbs up all the way!

And as brother wolfpack I can't wait to see them painted.

Are those the scribor celtic shields? They look awesome, but I heard they are very thin, which is why I haven't bought them yet. What's your opinion regarding them? Good to work with?

...and on a slightly related note, there are those of us that still wait for the Rags symbol tutorial, mainly myself and I :D , so if you ever find the time you know ;) .

my desire to consume vast quantaties of ale

Only if that included a bare Knuckle and chair bashing challenge to all in the pub! :P

...

I love the big axe head guy. I'm sure you'll need him in the future.

Welcome back! Thanks for the eye candy.

It's always nice to look at your work wolf brother, as I've mentioned before you are one of my favorite people who helped me get inspired! I only wish I had your GS skills, oh.. and I love your tanks! I hate painting tanks LOL always a pleasure brother. Keep up the amazing work. Your one of my heroes here. Good to see you back.
