pattison
Iconic model & very well executed. You're right about the scars, they are actually funny on a twin Lightning Claw model, hah. I like the base he's on, and the colours are just great. The highlights are of the usual Vadskær quality. :P One thing though: seems like that some blades of the right hand claw are bent. I don't think it's a visual illusion as this is the case on more than one photos. Maybe you could give them a careful correction without damaging the paint? Vadskær
@ Kable: Thanks mate - always nice when you stop by :) @ pattison: Yup, you're right! The blades aren't the best part of the sculpt, since they join a bit from the fist. One is a bit crooked, and I will remedy that with some carefull appliance of tweezers later today. It was evident that this was a limited run model, as there were some faults with the sculpt. One, as you've already seen, is the claws. Another is the curve of the leg-armour at the calves. It is usually quite curved, but in this sculpt it was kind of flat and non-symmetrical. Thanks for the praise - it's nice to know I also paint a good bluie ;-) /vadskær
Calgar 2.0
How did you paint the digital camouflage on Harker's fatigues?
Vadskær
How did you paint the digital camouflage on Harker's fatigues? Hi Calgar, It's basically just a codex grey underneath with patches of chaos black, vermin brown and shadow grey, which was then individually highlighted and shaded where appropriate :-)
Vadskær
Hey all, Well, I just got fired yesterday, which blows big time. But on the plus side, I will now have a LOT of time to paint and model, so expect more frequent updates as I rush to complete a bunch of marines. Cain Tiberius Kondrad
Sorry to hear about the job Bud, They obviously do not deserve someone of your talents! All the best finding a new job. incarnus
Hi Vadskær, I have been lurking in your thread for ages now, and am constantly amazed and inspired by your minis. You have had a very positive effect on my own Dark Angels and my painting in general. I hope you will not mind that I linked one of your photos into this Ultramarines thread, they were asking about the size of the primarch models and I remembered your shot of the Lion next to the Templar/DA kitbashed fellow. On another note, I noticed your Harker was featured on the Secret Weapon gallery. Best of luck on the job front, I hope the economy in Denmark is more conducive to hiring than ours here in the states.
Vadskær
Hi Cain & Brother Khairon ;) Thanks guys...it came as a complete surprise and it wasn't due to lacking performance, but budget cuts. Still sucks to have to vacate your spot in a half hour and not be allowed to tell anybody before the "official" news was e-mailed

Thanks a lot for the praise - it would be nice to see some of your own work, if you would like to share it? No problem with the links to the Ultra thread - size comparisons are difficult most of the times, so it's good when we can help eachother out. I'm a regular customer at SecretWeaponMiniatures, and I like the personal contact and interaction with Mr. Justin. He was also in the sad situation some time ago when he lost his job, but managed to turn it into a very positive output of bases. Thanks, the job situation is not critical, and I'm getting a nice agreement with my former workplace, so financially it's looking alright. Here's a couple of new minis that I finished yesterday. One is from the Sternguard box and the other a Vanguard veteran. Both are really nice models, but as I think I've mentioned before, I expected a better degree of detail on these minis. They are a new sculpt, but the jump pack is coarse in more than one place and some of the small details, such as skulls on the helmets aren't that good either ;) Don't pay too much attention to the base on the Vanguard - it was a quick fix since I'm going gaming next week. It will be improved when I get back. C&C much appreciated as always! /vadskær ^_^

SnorriSnorrison
Please, do write some battlereports, or at least take some pics. :) Nice stuff, as always. I like your light...nice and a chilly white, not yellow or orange. Mind if I ask what bulb did you use? Snorri

I've been deep in the magic land of Paintmania for the past days. The light is a dougnut shaped fluorescent bulb. It gives superb light for painting and also doubles quite nicely for pictures....that, and a white wooden table creates my light. /vadskær
Vadskær
Good evening all, I'm back with a blast! I've got a whooping 7 new miniatures to show-off tonight allthough I will never attempt a batch paint like this again! Too darn much detail :D Here's a group shot of all of the guys. The following posts will have detailed pictures and comments on each of the chaps. Enjoy, and show them some love :D /vadskær
Vadskær
First up in my detailed display of the hard-hittin' seven is this veteran with a massive powerfist. The model is a mix of a DA veteran, a generic assault jumppack with added purity seals, a powerfist and shoulder pad from the Sanguiniary Guard set. The head also comes from that box. Vadskær
Next up is another chap with four long service studs and a bionic arm, which came from the Commander box. Backpack and the other arm is from the assault box. I tried a darker skin-scheme for the heads of these marines for a new challenge, and it was nice to experiment with a more tanned/dark skinned look. Vadskær
This chap is from the Mk II Veteran box, which, in my opinion, includes some of the very best marine sculpts produced by GW so far! Not much conversion done here except to exchange his right arm. Originally it was a lightning claw, but I opted for the powersword as I found use for the claw on a differrent model. Vadskær
The fourth member of the squad is also from the Mk II Veteran box. On this one, I changed the right arm for a powerfist from the assault box, as I thought it would fit the pose perfectly! I also tried to do his chest eagle in silver tones, but decided that the gold complemented the colour palette better.
Vadskær
This one is my favorite sculpt of them all! It is dynamic, and the armour and helmet is just gorgeous! No changes/modifications were made here :)
Vadskær
Here's an angry marine! He has had a close encounter with something claw-like which he decided to catch with his face. No modifications were made to this great model. The face was a challenge to paint as always :)
Vadskær
The last one is all-plastic. He uses parts from the DA veteran kit, the command squad (arms & shoulder pads), backpack from assault box and purity seals from the Ravenwing box. Captain Conrad
Im a great fan your assault marines in particular the power axe/plasma pistol bloke who i agree is possibly along with claw sicarius (Which you also did brilliantly) the best marine/s GW have ever made and you made him look even better.
