Dosjetka
OK, cheers for the info :) Will have to try it out! I agree that none of their bases really scream "Dark Angels" to me either, but I do like their Ruined Temple range of bases. Maybe try those out? Example of use in the spolier bar below: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/25/#findComment-3352953 Share on other sites
Vadskær
@ reckoning34: Thanks Buddy! Always happy to have you stop by :-) @ Ludovic: Just got a good look at your blog - good to have you back in the "business" of painting! Yes, the Ruined Temple range is great looking, but I just think they are too plain and flat. However, the base I'm using for my Apothecary diorama is actually a 90x120 Trench base from Secret Weapon - but I think it's discontinued since it's not the one they have on sale in their current rage. Aaaaand since TGIF, here's another Chimera. This was the first one I painted, and the only conversion was to use the top hatch from a Forge World tank. I think this looks way better than the standard turret-top ring, and it creates a slimmer profile. Enjoy! /vadskær http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_7164.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_7168.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_7173.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_7177.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/25/#findComment-3353252 Share on other sites

Vadskær
@ Captain Semper, Vourne: As requested, here's some of my infantry, DKoK! They aren't painted to match my tanks though. These three are part of the 5-man command squad from Forge World. The two remaining, a rifleman and the commanding officer is still absent any paint. I painted these three at least a year and a half ago, but are still very pleased with the results - although I think I will repaint the red on the banner as my colour-control with red and blending skills have progressed quite some since I did these. Enjoy, and thanks for your kind words :-) /vadskær http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_0088_zps062c326c.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_0093_zpsbf0941c2.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_0096_zps43bcc046.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_0102_zps171c590e.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/25/#findComment-3355879 Share on other sites
Vourne
Really lovely. The Death Korps of Krieg have always been my favourite IG army. I especially like the shade of green you've achieved for the cloaks. Great work! Captain Semper
 This is truly awesome work - the tone of metal is superb! Really like, well... everything! Coats are fantastic (greens and greys work really well) and the banner is really, really well done: contrasting but not unrealistically bright! I really look forward for this army to grow! Vadskær
'Evening Chaps! I've put the final touches and brushstrokes to my mini-diorama today: + Fallen Angel, repeat, we have a Fallen Angel + It was a blast to paint, mainly because it was such a varied project, where I got to paint several models, which were all very different. The apothecary was a fun challenge to paint, as I haven't painted to much white before, and not on such a small scale, with shading and different colours in between. The jars of liquids was cool to have a go at, and the fallen commander was a model I'd wanted to paint for a long time. The marine standing over-watch was from the old Space Marine veterans metal set, and even though it isn't the greatest sculpt, it just suited this diorama perfectly, as if the situation is very live with action and enemy fire. The base is an old product from Secret Weapon Miniatures - no longer produced or in stock. I initially purchased it for a Vendetta but found that the flying stand didn't fit. Enjoy the pictures. C&C and questions are always welcome :-) /vadskær http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1352_zpse3719fc0.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1360_zpsa56d7e7c.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1363_zps63fdc64b.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1371_zpsb06692b6.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1372_zpsdd700146.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1378_zps5ef38a6c.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1382_zps472e5faf.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1389_zps16a22d86.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1393_zps85286848.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1400_zpscbd3db64.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1405_zpsc607aa01.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1410_zps06a74fad.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1414_zps790c52d7.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_1421_zpsf2670293.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/25/#findComment-3372056 Share on other sites
TheForgottenAngel
That is amazing! It definitely captures the moment and looks like a snapshot in time! My only critique would be to add a muzzle flash to the Dark Angel providing security. It would I feel be the only element needed to bring this diorama to the next level of SUPER EXTREMELY AWESOMETASTIC level Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/25/#findComment-3372065 Share on other sites

HJL
that is really really good. It captures the marine desperately trying to hold off a horde of something while the apothecary does the last rights. Urauloth
Love the diorama! I feel compelled to comment on your death korps again, though - they're the best I've ever seen, hands down. Vadskær
Thanks Guys for all your very kind comments! Crusader_Weber, KaosRaptor, Stobz, HJL, A Kvit Ghost, stepper - I'm very glad you like my work! Some of you asked questions or suggested improvements. Crusader_Weber: Yes, I agree that muzzle-fire/flare would be awesome. However, I have only seen one or two instances of this produced to a realistic level - and I haven't a clue as to how I can replicate it. Stobz: The only reason I didn't add any scripture was that I closely followed the 'Eavy Metal colour-scheme. Don't know why they chose not to do any. A Kvit Ghost: Thanks, I'm glad you like my Krieg. I have a bunch more waiting to be painted so there will be more in the future. The bases are from Secret Weapon Miniatures, from their Trench themed bases (the same as the 90mm oval base used above). /vadskær Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/25/#findComment-3372888 Share on other sites

TheForgottenAngel
I hear ya man about the muzzle flashes. Very hard to get right and would probably take away from the diorama than add to it. I honestly like the script not being on the armored part of the bike. It just doesn't feel right when I picture it. The clean lines allow you to see the embossing without making it too busy. Well done Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/25/#findComment-3373527 Share on other sites
