I almost forgot to post sth.

I painted Commander Dante this weekend using the NMM (non-metal metallic) method:

Hope you like him too altough he is not an Unforgiven one...

OK Bevulf, you got me wanting to start paining agian. Can you do me a favor please? Can you please give me step by step instructions on how you did the wings on the chest? I love how you did it on Azzy and Dante. This is one of my turn offs becasue when I try it, it is one colour. How the heck did get the grouves black or grey and ontop white without any mixing in.

I have tried and tried, and can never do it. Even when I use small paint and dry brush, I do not get that effect. Can I please have your secret?

I am glad to hear that I encouraged you to paint :D

The Chest Eagles were painted as follows:

1. Shadow Grey + Astronomican Grey as a basecoat

2. Codex Grey + Shadow Grey wash (heavily water-down the mix and wash all over)

3. Codex Grey + Shadow Grey + Chaos Black (once again heavily water-down the mix and wash mainly the reccessess)

4. Astronomicon Grey as a first layer

5. Astronomicon Grey + Skull White as a second layer

6. Skull White as a final layer

Always remember to thin down your paints and with each successive highlight try to not to cover previous one entirely.

hope that helps. If you have further quaetions don't hesitate to ask. I will gladly help you.

and show me your progress :)

Thanks Bevulf. So from steps 1-3, I make shure everthing is covered. for steps 4-6 I try not to cover the reccessess. How do I do this? Would this paint be a bit thicker and then I dry brush it on?

How do i not cover the previous layer entirely? I always seem to cover it all up. How should I try to do the next layer so it dosn't cover it up?

Thank you gor telling me the steps, I will try them out.

you should paint very carefully each part of the chest eagle - every 'feather' - it will take some time but you'll be happy with the result.

Do not drybrush it - i don't use this method on miniatures - it is good for painting dirt on tanks and to finish bases.

Paint should be watered-down - to that of consistency of milk.

These are looking fantastic mate, really stunning work.

A few quick questions, how do you paint your robes and green armour? They look brilliant and the highlights on the armour are very crisp.

EDIT: Never mind about the green, found the recipe on the first page  Question still stands for the robes though ;)

Glad you like them.

I paint robes exactly the same way as deathwing armour:

01. Codex Grey Basecoat

02. Iyanden Darksun

03. Iyanden+Bubonic Brown (1:1 mix)

04. Ogryn Flesh + Little Bestial Brown Wash

05. Iyanden + Bleached Bone (1:1)

06. Gryphonne Sephia Wash

07. Iyanden + Bleached Bone (1:2 mix)

08. Bleached Bone

09. Bubonic Brown Wash - heavily watered-down

10. Bleached bone + Skull White Highlight

11. Skull White as final highlight

Hi guys,

I've decided to change the purpose of this thread - as I take a lot of painting commisions I do not have time to finish my own Unforgiven - in fact all of my latest models are now on ebay and I don't plan to paint more for myself.

Sometimes when I take commissions I'm asked to paint dark angels and I think this is will be a good place to show all of them.

I will be posting all of my works on the Unforgiven in this thread. I don't plan to paint my own army but I really hope you'll enjoy some of my future works

and below is my latest commision work - Predator Destructor:
