Space Hulk Terminator Conversions

Im glad to see not everyones getting too bored of the Space Hulk invasion.

 

@ Lord Commander Vulkus Dorn : As requested heres a mini tut on replacing the shoulder pads

 

You start with this (check out the crisp molds......)

The secret is to remove the pad to but not damage the "under pad" armour that sticks out at the front and rear. You should be left with something like this.

I use clippers and then a knife to remove any bits that are sticking up.

Next test fit your pad to make sure you are happy with how it sits. I use superglue to stick my pads on and as resin has a bit of flexibility its just a case of line it up, push and hold until it sets.

 

You should have something like this. Note the standard pad peeking out under the new one.

Heres where we are with this one. I think Ive settled on the pose.

There are a couple of mold lines to sort but then its spray and paint time. Hopefully done by the end of the weekend which gives me two weeks to paint my ironclad dread!

Well Ive manged to get some blue on this mini.

Theres still a load of detail to do on it but I thought Id do the Tyranid armour in the same style as the one held by the first termi in this post.

Its not glued on and needs to be weathered to tie into the base but Im not sure if its bright enough. Im not sure if I should do it orange and yellows.

I think your painting and conversions are fantastic!!!! Very well done.

Personally, I think the Tyranid armour in the Terminator's hand should be a diferent colour, it is too close to the Ultramarine blue.....a more contrasting colour would be nice.

Thats the nagging doubt that I have too. In real life it is a much brighter blue on the armour but I may switch it around to white armour with orange shading (and I hate painting white)

Well I went for it and changed the colour and I think it works without being too bright.

 

Thats my 5 man squad (almost) done. The bases need touching up and edging. Theres all the lenses but I'll do them in one hit.

 

Ive got to get onto my Iron Clad dread or I'll not stand a chance in my LPC vow!
