The skyhammer is finnaly complete!! Ill post pics tonight! 37 new models done + 2 drop pods!

Thats more painting than ive completed in the last 2 years!!

Now I just have to finish off an assasin and a priest and im ready for this tournament!! Then I can get stuck into my rts vow!!

Major update time! The Skyhammer is done!!! I am quite happy with how it all turned out, and the models really look like a unified spacemarine force! They will make a great option to help make my Blood Angels competative!...... I hope :tongue.:

1x 10 man Melta Dev Squad (Complete)

1x 10 man Grav Dev Squad (Complete)

1x 10 man Assault squad (Complete)

1x 7 man Assault squad (Complete)

2x Drop pods (Complete)

1x 5man Sniper scout Squad (Complete)

1x Culexsus Assasin (almost complete)

1x Sanguinary Priest (Not started)

Gotta admire that you actually paint and non BA force just to use it as an allied formation. Kudos on being so determined. Actually makes me think of digging out my old marine armies and shine it up in case i need space marine allies.

The skyhammer force looks great and if that source lightning is 'messing around' you should mess around more! Looks awesome!

When is the tournament?

Skyhammer looks great Jorre!

I bet you're well chuffed. Looking forward to seeing more soon.

EDC

Thanks! I am Chuffed!

.... Buuuut no rest for the wicked!!

I have since 5th ed built 7 Priests/Noviates + Corbulo! (Dont get me started on the loss of terminator armour!) For some stupid reason I have never magnatised one! So now I get to do another one because yet again my old loadouts are out of date! However the new plastic kit from Gdub is OUTstanding!! So I cant wait to get stuck into this model! The detail is amongst the cleanest I have seen so it should paint well!

Since I have the time I hope to put a bit more effort into this model! so to get a little longer life out of him I have magnatised the cup wrist and the Combi melta arm. This should allow me to use the model as Corbulo or hopefully any other priest they release in the future!

So I thought I'd get a start on my RTS vow while waiting for glues and undercoats to set on my new priest!

First step rebasing!

Oh and incase anyone is interested in the origin of my incredibly creative spartan colour scheme! I copied it from my old bike!

Yellow black and silver!

I

That is a lovely bike... you say 'old' – what happened to it?

Oh and the marines look awesome too ;)

I still have it, but rarely ride it. My new one is much more fun! But I do still love the colours of the old girl! Hence the spartans!!

I wouldnt sell it, ive got this disease that makes me collect bikes! My wife loves it lol.. Its still in use every other week when im trying to rope my mates into mountain biking!

Send me a pm in your ever in Western Australia and well go for a ride!

Ah – you're miles away (thousand of them)! My last mountain bike was stolen and I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet, though I did have my eye on Giant... I do have family on that side of the world so if I ever make it over there I'll hook you up!

So did a little more work on the Mark IV marines for my RTS

Its amazing how much more work I can get done when the finish line of my goal is in sight! When I've got a big project I find it really important to have a way to feel like you have accomplished something even if you havnt finished! Otherwise its easy to get bogged down in a project and not feel like working on it at all! Anyway I'm rambling again! I like to break big jobs up into small peaces so I can see some progress every time I sit down! It really helps me!

Now the end really is in sight! Just got to finish this guy and sort the base out for the assasin and I'll be tournament ready! (paintwise anyway)

Ok so I am neck deep in this Skyhammer project now! Its to late to stop it must be completed by the end of November! Here are some project shots

I have finished building all 20 Devs. 4 with Multimelta and 4 with Grav Cannons.

The first 10 are close to finished and you can get the general gist of the colour scheme!

Another shot of the construction Chaos!!

This guy was orignally built for a BA Vanguard Vet squad in 5th ed. The squad was only ever undercoated and is now very obsolete, some of the models will still be use able, but most will need to be modified. This guy should serve as a Vet Sergeant for one of the assault squads, I just had to give him a new arm and rebase him! For the record GW resin does not like Detol!!

This guy will be a grisly old vet for one of the Dev squads! Puts most Iron hands to shame with his Bionics!

Lastley a squad I pledged for Rage to Salvation!..... Cause I need more to do on top of finishing 40 + models for the skyhammer! However these guys really do need finishing! I have put a hell of a lot of time into this squad already(during 5th again) and they deserve to be finished! This was the first squad I put a bit of effort into dynamic poses and there are various degrees of success here. The paint job isnt to bad I think it will look really good with some of the new techniques Ive learned! First I will give them a edge highlight then finish off all the minor details like chainswords and bolt pistols. I think I will rebase the lot to as this was an experimental base I made ment to have a larva theme! It looked ok, but is far to time and resource consuming! They will look much nicer on my new style of bases and match the rest of my army!
