BTW what Lightning Claws are those?

From the metal veteran box.

Ah actual claws for PA. I wondered why they aren't as oversized as the TDA claws usually used on PA marines, for lack of fitting ones. Too bad there are so few.

[Edit]Hmm I can see a right LC looking similar, but the only veteran with a left LC looks quite different.[/Edit]

Brother Sgt Osiris (1st Asst Sq 2nd Company):

Awesome Sergeant. Great kitbash, great pose, great paintjob.

Cheers Quixus, I'm really pleased with the way he turned out. He was originally meant to be looking forward but the laurel around his helmet meant it didn't fit straight - so now he looks a little nonchalant, taking out one adversary but already looking for another before the first one is even sliced and diced :D

You're right about the claws, and it is annoying there isn't a greater selection of LC arms for power armour. The right arm is as you say, from one of the standard Vets -

The left arm came from the original Cpt Sicarius model (an awesome fig in of itself, and one who will certainly be appearing in Vanguard armour soon) -

yea that limited eidition captn Sicarius model was awesome  found it abit to static however and since i dident knew that it was limited edition :P i kinda missed out...

i got myself one though, with oversized termi fists as someone here said B)

Afternoon chaps.

After what has felt like the longest and most annoying house move of all time, I finally got a paintbrush back in my hand a couple of weeks ago, and I can get back to throwing stuff on here - hurrah!

First up, I felt it was high time my Priests stopped hiding behind ablative wounds (though they never stayed in their transports on their own ;) ), so this fine looking gentleman will be running with some standard Asst Marines and, at a later date, some Sanguinary Guard. He's not 100% done, as I want to add some small aditions here and there, but he's good enough for now. Having to use my camera phone for now, so it doesn't pick up on the edge highlighting very well, but you get the idea.

...and here's a group shot of the Priesthood so far. Two more to do over time, another Pwr Wpn and one in TDA, and then they'll be done.

More to come fairly soon.

Another quick update. Finished off another JP Flamer to pretty much complete the 1st Asst Sq (barring maybe another Sgt variant at a later stage).

Lame phone cam FTW :) !!

Next up, Terminators ;)

My favorite of your group shots! AWEsome work. Very inspirational. :)

Cheers fellas for the positive comments. Sooner or later I'll get back to the fortress...

chainswords on priests? :)

how do those work for you? i could never pass up on 4 WS5 S5 I5 PW attacks :P

love the sheen on the powerweapon, how did you achieve this?

Yeah, I've been running the standard load-out for a while purely because I've tried to use the 15pts elsewhere in my general lists. They've worked ok but nothing necessarily overly spectacular, mainly because of the composition of the two JP Asst Squads I currently use. Also, my painting thus far as been geared towards a solid "core" army with very few truly special squads/tricks, but I'm now finally branching out to encompass a lot of the fun stuff (Sang Guard, VV, Termies, and variant Priests etc).

The power weapon scheme is:

- Regal Blue basecoat.

- 50/50 Regal/Ultramarines Blue

- Ultramarines Blue

- 50/50 Ultra/Space Wolf Grey

- Space Wolf Grey

- Skull White highlight

The middle four layers need to be a bit fluid to help to move the paint around to get a good blend - something I still find difficult to manage every time.

Great work mate! I really like your priest conversions, and the painting as well :)

did I see that right that you re-positioned a SG leg for the powerweapon priest? nice one dude. looks great! the blade has a great blending effect as well ;)

Oh, and I like what you did with the priest's chest symbol :(

Keep up the good work. ;)

Snorri

chainswords on priests? :D

my priests have the actual priest arm with the reductor/narthecium thing on it and i usually use it as power weapon. no one in the 6 or 7 tourneys ive done that with have said anything. i just painted them like blue power weapons to make them WYSIWYG. could do same thing with chainswords.

Thanks again lads, much appreciated.

@Snorri - Yeah, a quick leg chop and reposition created a nice fluid pose (something myself and Midnight seem to have an unwritten challenge over ;) ). I really like those particular SG legs for my JP Priests but I didn't want to replicate it too much from the first one I did.

@1Drop - The Apothecary arm comes from the SM Command Squad set. I pretty much used nothing but SG and DC parts for the Priests (barring the obvious direct only model), although the guy on the right of the group shot has the chest armour from the Baal Pred commander. Also, the power weapon arm on the latest Priest is the Sgt's chainsword arm from the SM Devastator kit, with the blade replaced with the DC one.

(Termies are coming along nicely :) )

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok, sadly real life is getting in the way a bit, but managed to finish my first SH Termie. Straight up paint job with no mods, and these guys really are a lot of fun to paint. Didn't realise quite how bulky these ones are compared to the standard set, and because of their dynamism, I'm sure they could probably give a Land Raider a cover save :geek:

The red is a wash-out again because of the camera, but it's good enough to just make out some of the highlighting. 2 Thunderhammers almost done...
