Angelus Mortifer Posted July 3, 2011 Author Share Posted July 3, 2011 So, I finally broke through that motivation wall to bring you, Brother Sgt Ixion - Honoured Veteran of the Blood Angels 1st Company. Pretty chuffed with the way he came out, barring a few minor things here and there. Obviously Lysander got demoted but I used various parts from the Sanguinary Guard, standard Terminators, Grey Knight Terminators, and the SM Veterans. Also tried a more concerted attempt at some freehand on the back of the cloak, which came out pretty well. I'm sure I'll succumb to some mass bolter fire, but I'm taking a short break to start a different project (xenos unfortunately), but I'll have something new to post in a little while. But I do see a gravity defying purity seal on his right shoulder :yes: The contrast quality with my iPhone is pretty naff sadly - it all blends a lot better in real life... honest ;) As for the purity seal, I figured that the banner and cloak both fit well together with the direction of the "breeze", but being heavier material than parchment the movement isn't as drastic as something as light as the purity seal... hence its very, erm, dynamic. Nice work again, he tops off an awesome squad; I'm not usually a fan all the bling really, but it is perfactly suited to a group of honoured veterans. Dark Eldar at the mo. That pretty makes me banned from the BA section doesn't it? I'll be coming back to it, just not sure when yet.@BO - Sadly the vagaries of only having an iPhone for a camera won't make that much difference....and Santa is not even bringing me a proper one either, which is rude. I really like the use of the Sanguinary Guard parts on the Death Company and Sergants. It does feel good painting up some more of the thin red line (even if some of them are technically black ) @ Gozu - The Dev Sgt is from the Sternguard set. I chopped off his power fist and replaced it with a standard plastic bolter arm and signum/scanner, and the backpack is straight from the plastic Dev box. I was going to add a servo skull for him as well, but it's just too fragile and wouldn't last 5 mins in my carry case. Aiming to finish my Dread Drop Pod, and then likely switching between honourable Angels and some filthy Xenos (I know, shoot me now). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
