greatcrusade08
Ok its time to do a quick roll call for UM4. So far Wan, Idaho and Cadarn should be coming aswell as myself and hopefully thantoes.. though you should all know that this may be my last meet for a while as my wife goes back to work in june and free time will become very difficult for me.. Im hoping to go ahead with the BFM, but we are still looking for tyranid players to volunteer.. also we have had a big problem with people commiting and then dropping out at the last minute.. If we are to run an event of this size i need to know that people are really going to turn up and not leave us short handed.. Im hoping to see the regulars at nottingham at the end of april (24th and 25th IIRC) aswell as many new faces.. attendees: Cadarn Gc08 thantoes Idaho Wan Kernmist ctan sniffle +1 stormbringer firenze armouredwing pheonix knight Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/192795-ultra-meet-4/ Share on other sites
Cadarn
On the BFM business, I know that there may not be many 'Nid players on this board, but I'm sure there are more than a few people who bagged a copy of Space-hulk, so bring along your Genestealers to bulk out the forces of the great devourer. This will be the 4th of these meets, and while they were created as Ultramarine meets, anyone really is welcome. They are chilled out and fun, a great place to test out some random armylist (and get some excellent advice from the people you're fighting against) and just a chance to play a bunch of games against nice casual opponents. And with it being in GW HQ, its a perfect chance for those of you who have never been to make the pilgrimage. It really is an awesome place for any hobbyist. So much so that I took my wife and managed to convert her. Win! Thantoes
If I managed to get there I will only be bringing my Ultrawing. Easy and light to carry, quick to add and remove figs from the case (only 25 models) and will hopefully hit like a ton of bricks on the battlefield. My leary eye is targeting GC08 and Cadarn primarily. GC08 because he has to beat me before he goes on Ultrameet Hiatus and Cadarn because I never got to play him at UM3. ArmouredWing
Well, not wanting to disapoint Cpt Idaho I've got that weekend booked into my calendar and I'll be bringing my Sisters along to see if I can regain some honour after being thrashed by an Ultras force in the GT. I'm also pretty sure that there'll be at least an attendance by a couple of the 1st Mercian Irregulars (Phoenix Knight, Gonefishing, Storm Bringer) although with GF & SB competing in the GT final it may be a bit close in terms of them having to travel up twice within a few weeks. waaanial00
Mwah ha ha ha. A chance to pit my wits against people int he GT final... Man im gonna lose! Just joking it will be interesting to see some really dedicated tournament players in action, have been meaning to attend this little GT thingy for a couple of years and will be getting off my lazy ass later this year. Will be nice to meet some more of the regulars. Wan Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/192795-ultra-meet-4/#findComment-2291826 Share on other sites
Captain Juan Juarez
I really wana go to GWHQ but it is quite a trek, though my partner doesn't live so far away from Nottingham and I'm planning on a long weekend with her in April... So I may have to tempt her..... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/192795-ultra-meet-4/#findComment-2291834 Share on other sites

Heh heh heh. Still we do tend to give each other a hard time rather than inflict our rules lawyering on everyone else, as it is it's looking pretty good in terms of at least 3 of us attending. Have to say I'm really looking forward to it from both the gaming and socialising point of view. Have to say I'm really looking forward to it from both the gaming and socialising point of view. So Idaho told you what happened the last time he went up to Nottingham under a Ultramarine Meet banner then? How many bones he broke and how he did it specifically? It is a good laugh, given most of the regulars are likely to be staying up there (I believe) it should be a great laugh. The gaming is just a side show really. Could be interesting then, as I'll only be taking up my Eldar and my own Termi-wing army (for which I hold you entirely responsible, btw). However mine at wolf wing based, so it could be an interesting scrap. My aim for the next meet is to avoid taking up a single piece of power armour. Heresy, perhaps, but it shakes things up a bit and means it's not just PA beating on PA all weekend. Cadarn
Yep, so I've gone and done it. I'll be bringing a Marine army to UM4, but the challenge for this one is that no power armour is permitted. Heavy on the heroes, low on the balance, maxed out on fun. In all probability I'll have my arse handed to me several times over, but it should prove interesting. At this rate I should even have them all painted up in time, as they're proving easier than expected. Brother Hadafix
Maybe, same as last time. If the numbers are high then I'll stand aside, but can't commit anyway. Would be cool though, I have 1500 pts of BT and that (hopefully) will be going up within the month. Cadarn
10 TDA 2 HQ One Land Raider 10 Scouts 1500 points Been looking for ways to do it without buying any new models. Although I confess that I will be shelling out for the new Venerable Dread, as he is too sexy not to. Then I took a look at my Planet Strike scenery and some spare Razorback turrets, and suddenly I find I have three Tarantula gun emplacements. Win! Assuming people are OK with Forgeworld Rules for the gun emplacements then that could be a rubbish but fun army. Of course, if I wanted to be really cheesy then I could just forgo the gun emplacements and turn the Ven Dread into a certain HQ Dred. :D Can you smell the hero-hammer? CAN YOU?!?!?! As you can see, I'm going the polar opposite end of the scale I've been at for the last two meets. At those events I've been all about balance. Now I'm going to see how a truly uber elite army fares on the table top.
