Firenze
The nice thing is that with two elite forces fighting, even a large game isn't going to take all that long. :P Indeed. At 1750 my army has 25 models. At 2000 it has 26. I like it as I can fit the whole thing into the small carry case and since only the termie chaplain is metal it doesn't weight 500000000000kg. It also only takes me about a minute to get them out of the case and ready for battle. 25.... How, may I ask, did you manage to get that little models into 1750? Unless its deathwing... I may bring along my DA/SW/Knights Griffon all combined. Maybe because Im lacking anything to do... waaanial00
You cant possibly make this sound normal can you? It just keeps coming back as sounding very dodgy. Hotel will be booked on Monday. Where you guys staying? Tried out my 1st, 4th and 10th list (well a version of it, I still have not built my Storm) and I got a win against a Blood Angels player, to his credit his deepstriking failed and allowed me to ruin half of his army whilst the other half was waiting in the wings ready to deploy. Still it gives me hope for taking on your Ultra's. My scouts even achieved something, Shaking and Stunning a Dreadnought (rear armour), destroying a multi melta from another (front armour) and shaking a drop pod! Not bad really considering they usually do next to nothing. Maybe the secret is to drop them before the game and have 2 of their heads come off? Hmmm maybe im on to something... Thantoes
I think it was more karmic dice rolling, my dice have been misbehaving for weeks in preperation for that days gaming ;) They misbehave because they know they have nothing to live for and that they will be discarded on a whim. So they punish you for your apathy and general uncaring ways..... I, however, treat my dice like unruly children. To be praised and punished for their deeds. And I get average results from them. Which is good. They are also now well worn in, having been used for over 2 years now :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/192795-ultra-meet-4/page/4/#findComment-2322327 Share on other sites

waaanial00
Or maybe they got inspired by the slogon on the wall. "Scouts be ready" It was a scout hut :) I got really freaked out by this comment as last night my game was also in a Scout hut, which had the slogan on the walls. Then I remembered that you had played GC08 and you were referring to his game. Gave me a bit of a worry that B&C members were stalking me then  As to Brother-Chaplain Gaius, if you have a passport and a couple hundred dollars you are more than welcome :teehee: We wouldnt hold your current country of residence against you should you chose to make the journey. storm bringer
I'm from Andover in the south, and to me, everyone north of Stone Henge is a northerner! :) That's almost as good as my sister thinking Cwmbran was in Cumbria. Lol. What's the crack with points levels for the weekend? If I put together a few lists what would be a good mix to prepare for? (taking into account group games etc.) Definitely get yourself a couple lists. I'm taking a 1,500pts list, 1,750pts list, and have 2 variants I can utilise if my opponent want's to face a list without Honour Guard! (chickens) Speaking of your sis, she mentioned she was thinking about collecting an Eldar army if memory serves me? Have you convinced her to become "one of us"? Id loveto do the BFM idea but considering i may miss the nextcouple of meets, i figured if we stuck to the one big game, that way we can get some grudge matches in too. Yeah I would enjoy having a few games against various people so any more than a single large scale game is a bit much unfortunately. Besides have we got enough Tyranid players for all of the Marines players being able to a game? Well, I hope to bring my nids although given I've been running marines since the new codex I'm afraid I will not get round to painting them all up or WYSIWYG-ing (understanding wife and kids only goes so far and the new dex is a massive change). I can do 1500/1750point lists no worries. Can someone just confirm that its the weekend of 24/25th April at WW? greatcrusade08
Can someone just confirm that its the weekend of 24/25th April at WW? yup thats right.. its not a formal tourney or competition so WYSISYG and painted minis is not absolutely necessary, we are all friendly guys here. Captain Idaho
Yeah it is 24th and 25 at WW. Should be a hoot. Does anyone want to share a room for cheaper than a single room each? I will book it on Monday and PM you any details if you so require, also PM you the time planning details of the Saturday. Really cant wait for this, been practicing with my alternative army and have even (shock horror) started painting some scouts. It turns out my hiatus from painting has not given me super painting skills and I still suck, still sme paint is better than no paint :) Not a chance of getting them fully painted though, the other list might be (as its a tournament list for later in the year - not being uber competative with it so dont worry) so there should be plentsy of cool in game photos. Thantoes
Shock and Horror.....but I am sorely tempted too bring along 2 lists. My Ultrawing list using Deathwing rules or Ultrawing using Wolfwing rules. Shake it up a bit, have each player I play role a D6. On a 4+ he gets wolfwing otherwise he gets Deathwing. Except for Cadarn. He gets the full fury of the Deathwing rules vs his Wolfwing.... Each list plays significantly different from the other and uses the same models so I dont have to lug around a massive case. Sound like a good idea? Cadarn
Should prove interesting. Its ended up that I'm bringing two lists to play at 1750. One is reasonably balanced, in as much as that word can be used with Wolf-wing. It's varied and pretty solid, while still holding true to my rule of no Power Armour. The second list is... well... it has 15 models. At 1750 points. 3 HQ. (Space wolves can have 4) 2 Troops. (Totalling 5 models each. One has character upgrade) 1 Transport 1 Heavy Support Never will a single turn be completed faster. Hmmmm, let me try and guess Logan, Njal in runic terminator armour OR Bjorn the Fellhanded Wolfguard battleleader in terminator armour 2 x Wolfguard packs. 1 with Arjac upgrade Land raider Crusader as a transport Land raider Redeemer/Crusader as heavy support How close am I?
