That's the one! Beautiful sculpt! I even stole the idea of the studded jump pack for my models.

So minus one Vindicator which I will be going into town and buying today, this is my now fully assembled army! I built a stand in Librarian and counts as Corbulo until my fancy pants conversions are done.

The Dozer Blade on the FlamzorBack is magnetized. I'm waiting for the brown stuff to cure so I can file it down flat to the surface and hopefully keep it an invisible join. Keeps all my transports WYSIWYG so the Dozer Blades can be added or removed depending on the points size of the game. I'm currently only running them on the Death Company's Razorback transport and the 2 Vindicators at 1500pts cos I will want them flying over the board to get into position to unload their different types of death on the enemy.

And here is a preview of my converted Librarian. I'm gonna be putting a LOT of work into this guy and he is only around 50% complete. Seeing as The parts came to a big hefty sum, he deserves nothing less.

The torso is from the Silas Hand Black Library miniature. I removed both the arms and kept the cool greaves and used an open hand from the Sanguinary Guard and the Force Staff from the metal Librarian who comes with a book. The legs are also from him. I have since completely removed the left arm from the shoulder and have replaced it with the outstretched pointing arm from the Tactical sprue, with the greave and 'spell casting' hand attached. Looks more dynamic.

There's a lot of green stuff work to do to him for added details.

And we are now fully assembled and ready for some paint!

I am also really happy with how the Librarian is coming along and will have him finished very shortly.

Hopefully now after months and months of grey, silver and green models, I will have some nice arterial red and black ones to show off!

That was something I have given quite a bit of thought to and I cannot actually find any official GW colour scheme for FT vehicles, so I am going to have to make an educated guess.

I will probably go for a scheme not too dissimilar to this:

Black doors, sponsons, turrets, Dozer Blades/Siege Shields and the 'shoulder' parts of the hull. Cupolas will be red though, unlike this version.

Just waiting for the extra fine chain to arrive from the model railway mail order place I used so I can finish the right shoulder pad. I've used a couple of green stuff moulds for the various shoulder pad detailing.

Really happy how he has turned out. I'm going to paint him last and enter him into Golden Daemon this year, see how it does.

Welcome, Flesh Tearers Chief Librarian Agur:

Morticon's rhinos are sexy as hell, but are pretty far from the official FT vehicle scheme if you really want to go the official route.

In IA 2 (i think) there's a FT baal pred. It is all black, with a few red markings on the engine exhaust stacks. and a couple little details here and there in red. (no complete panels or anything)

That said, I didn't like that for my army, and my personal FT vehicles, i copied off someone else on here, and did all black sides, with everything in between the two side track sections red.

Nice work, I'm looking forward to seeing this lot painted :P

What parts did you use for the TL heavy flamer conversion?

Also who makes the resin bases you are using? I've seen a few resin bases for sale around the web but most seem to over power the figure for want of a better description

I used the T/L Hvy Flamer parts from the SoB Immolator and cut them down to fit flush with the mount. Some people use them as is and retain the fuel tank too, but that way you can't magnetize them and I wanted them to be interchangable.

The bases I found on eBay just typing in 'resin base' but I cant seem to find them at the moment. They were from this seller http://shop.ebay.co.uk/616-designs/m.html

Try messaging them to see if they have anymore ready to be cast up

Thanks for the reply.

I wonder if I can use the LR redeemer heavy flamers as I have a few of those floating around the spares box or is the immolator just another rhino with extras frames so it can be canabalised?

What are the best sources for FT 'fluff'? I have read Red Fury and have the WD that covers the old BA Index Astrtes but wonder if there is a WD issue covering the Index Astrtes FT?

I just go by the IA article and the stuff in Seth's entry with the few mentions in the Swallow books. That's all we have.

I have heard of people using a single Flamestorm cannon and mounting it on it's side with the cover from the Razorback over the top of it. I don't see why that wouldn't work with some trimming.

I think I have the answer to the flamers I've got a Baal Pred here with another 2 on back order from Total Wargamer so I can use the sponson mounted flamers.

I don't intend building all three Baals as Preds but wanted to be able to build the various turret options with a few magnatized sponsons and possibly a dozer blade. I can then use the hulls for extra Rhinos or Razors or even a whirlwind if I buy the forgeworld conversion. Does anybody know how many vehicles the FT would have within their 4 companies?

I think that everything thing is top notch mate! loving all the conversions .......except one. The one i dont really like is the priest. I dont think that dantes legs suite the Sanguinary guard Chest as the legs are an old mold and so are a good bit smaller than the current marines. But other than that everything is brilliant! :P

The legs aren't any shorter at all, they just look thinner naturally as they are far more stylised than the huge bulky standard style marine flared shinguards. This especially is pronounced when taking photographs from an overhead angle. The widest point being the shoulderpads, then tapering in to the waist, then continuing to get thinner and thinner as you go down to the shins. It's a matter of perspective. One that I don't particularly mind myself

Thanks for your kind words.

It was going to be in there for a unit to sit in Razorbacks with 2 Sanguinary Priests and support as a counter infantry unit in an older build with 4 x 5 man Assault Squads with 2 built for assault and 2 built to sit back, almost like combat squads.
