Horus Heresy from Forge World!

Recommended Posts

Night lords would use Mk III just as much as the other Legions. :D

The NLs use overwhelming force to crush an enemy and the Mk III would be perfect for this, especially in a heavy assault situation where they can get in close and scare the heck out of an enemy.

What will Forge World think of next?

Mk IV Armour of course!

Thats not Mk. 4 (Maximus, for future reference) armour... the left shoulderpad and the legs have studs, and thes models don't.

I know, I am a nitpicker, but armour studs are just that awesome.

EDIT - sorry, had it confused w/ Heresy (Mk. 5) pattern.

No but I am in the middle of sculpting my own at the moment anyway that aren't that different just in actual scale for an Iron Warriors army to battle Apologist.

I would love an army of those Mk IV's though.

Okay, you going to post pics of those in the future?
Any word if they're going to do Mk. I Thunder armor? I would love to have squads of Sternguard and Vanguard Vets in these older Mk.s of armor. Although I don't think I'd spend the money for the Mk. VI because you can almost get a whole suit of Mk. VI out of a regular box of tac marines.
I have trouble deciding which armor Mk's i should buy, Mk. II would be nice with the Phobos pattern bolters.

Sounds good to me. I guess it just depends on which Legion you want to recreate and which chronological period of the Pre-Heresy/Heresy your Space Marine Legion is going to be set in...

I mean you may even want to go back to the very origins of the Space Marines when they were organised into Regiments-prior to the Legions being created; but thats totally up to you.

I'm having the same difficulty in chosing to be honest. Though I have ordered the Mark III armour. <_<

It's possible but I'm thinking that they won't. There is talk of a mk VIII honour guard coming up next friday though but whether this is speculation or fact I don't know.

The beauty of these Mk VI marines is that you get the proper arms and chest plate which you can't get in regular tactical squads. You also get the rimless shoulder pad.

Brother Kairon: If you are doing pre-heresy then the Mk II is your friend. Throw in some Mk IIIs and Mk IVs and you are good to go.

It depends on what era you want to do, early crusade where they are still finding the Primarchs you've got the Mk II and Mk III with the phobos pattern bolters, for the latter half of the crusade you have the Mk IV and Umbra bolters.

For the Heresy you have Mk II - V for the post Istvaan era, Mk VI for the invasion of the Sol system and the Mk VI and VII for the defence of Terra and the siege of the Imperial Palace. <_<

It is true mate.

This is a mk8 collar from a Sergeant. As a sculptor and caster myself of mk8 that is unmistakable. Looking foward to seeing their take on it. :)

Yeah, with Forge World posting the pictures for Mk. II Armor and Phobos pattern Bolters, I'm definitely going to be getting at least 4 boxes + the Pre-Heresy Weapon Kit that has those flamers, meltaguns, and missile launchers, though I don't think I'll be using the meltaguns, probably going to hold on to them though (probably give them to my boys in Mk. III).

So, as far as I've read so far, the general consensus is Mk II/III = Phobos Pattern, and Mk IV-V = Umbra Pattern? (My legion's armor stops at Mk V)

Horus Lupercal
