Im still not overwhelmed by the storm raven, I think it is mainly the "bubble" turret and the air vent behind it, I may end up removing those, and I think that will make it much more stream line, and alot more like a mini thunder hawk, which I quite like the idea of.

As for the Dreadnought- Wow!! The Blood Talons are amazing and I absolutely love the Magna Grapple-it really looks right to me, as though it could easily grab onto a tank with enough power purchase to then pull said tank along, consider me sold on at least one of those release day :-)

the stormraven looks like papa nurgle threw up, and they attached wings to whatever was spawned out of its orifice :)

the dreadnought though looks AMAZING :woot: if id dident own 6 dreads already id buy one....heck who am i kidding il buy one (two most likely  )

The vent can be left off with no hole in the fuselage. The turrets ring is about 1 mm too tight for a Razorback or Predator turret but that can easily be fixed with some tools.

I will see how I like it with a smaller intake and a Razor turret but having built one with all the regular parts, I might just leave it unmodified. It looks great on the table with an army around it.

when are you going to paint them for your BA army? ;D

is thear any sarcofagus for the DC dread? dont know if i like the skull or not

You get three different sarcophagus fronts with the set; one DC (shown here), one Furioso and one Furioso Librarian. You can see the other two in the older thread with the sprue pics.

I'm going to paint 1-2 of both as soon as I get to buy them. :)

Nice Mate, can we please get a shot of the storm raven from below and behind? that and the turret seem to be the biggeest areas of contention and it would be nice to see whats there.

I had to stop taking pictures before I got to that. I intended to get some profile pictures, some detail shots and a good view of the back side but I had to put the cam away.

I'll be leaving town early on Thursday and won't have the time to go to the store tomorrow, so we'll have to hope GW gives us some proper shots some time soon.

The back looks good in my opinion, by the way. The only thing that's underwhelming is the dread grapple - how is a single steel cable going to hold the dread stable in-flight, let alone keep it from trashing the whole Stormraven during an orbital landing?

AG, question on the magnagrapple, is it just a part that fits on top of a dread (IE when i magnatize it will it be really easy)

It's not even glued on the picture, it fits really smoothly and I don't even think you need to magnetise as it kinda sticks to the roof plates. So really, really easy.

Magnetising both the smoke launchers and the grapple would be the optimal way to go I think.

tbh, if the "fin" on the back would be more.....eh...body instead of "fin" i MIGHT have liked it.... ancient where are the grabby things attached that should hold the dread? i dont see em ;)

The holding grapple and winch are underneath the tail portion, just outside the hatch. I didn't manage to take a picture I'm afraid. It looks like one half of the Furioso magna grapple, just a winch and a magnet on a rope...

My reaction:

I dig the Stormraven, alot! (except the turret and vent... but should be an easy fix)

x2 and then some.

The SR not nearly as hideous as the leaked photo led me to believe. And other than the boom box on his head the new Furioso is sweeeeet!
