Barbarossa Crusade Army Project

Hate...you...so...much! :P

Before this nasty little slice of awesome came along, the only BT army to pop up that made me seriously question the quality of my painting was Dannis'. Even then, all I had to do was maybe go back and work on some fading/blending here and there, and I'd be as good. Plus, he never finishes anything ( ;) ), so I at least had productivity on my side.

But you....ohhhh no. Not only did you drop a bombshell of Slaaneshy-level artistic perfection on the subforum, but you actually kept up a ludicrously productive pace!

Now I've got Jasper staring at me from my desk, scolding my inadequacy in service of the Chapter.

:teehee:

Much respect to your work, and your GW web mention. I'll just have to hope I end up being a good player so I can still keep my head high around my own little black zealots.

Thanks a lot to all of you. Those kind words always are pure motivation for me. I´d like to share a WIP of my upcoming Preadotr Tank "Greif" with you. Still a long, very, very long way from being finihes but I think it allows a slight idea of what I´m aiming for... :-)

My second video tutorial is online. Still working on my style and some technical aspects. Once I´m sure about that I´ll cover the more juicy contents as black armour, use of oil colours and so on... Keep me motivated and help me with your feedback...

I try and stay away from transfers, but those (the text ones) look fairly sweet. Are those the ones from forgeworld?

And the decal medium/fix you use in the vid, do they work better than just plain old water on surface first then add the transfer. Do they hold better? do the transfers still have a shiny finish to them or a matt finish to them?

They stick better, work on rounded surfaces and give it a matt finish. In the end it´s really hard to tell decal from freehand except for the degree of perfection. Give it a try. I shared your opinion before I first used this stuff. You´ll start loving decals. The forgeworld decals are especially nice and have a pretty thin layer, so they work even better. Really, give it a try it´s worth it.

I like the autocannon too. Very reminiscent of the 88mm cannon. Reminds me of the Tiger or the Panther tanks. :)

The paintjob is very good, too. The weathering and the OSL are just right, imho. ;)

Thanks. The autocannon is a King Tiger 1:35 scale barrel made of brass and aluminum. Cool stuff. Wishful thinking might be amour-priecing shells for the autocannon with S7 DS1 and 2D6 and choose the higher result for armour penetration. But that remains in the land of wishful thinking only...
