That is awesome.:jawdrop:

Thanks! Your smileys made me laugh.

That LR and the doors look great. Might have to steal that idea...

Feel free, but post pictures! The wargames factory skeleton sprues have been redone and you get a lot for one box.

Oh HELL YEAH!

That is awesome.

Thanks! I can't wait to try and paint it. Hope I can paint it well enough not to ruin it.

Been a while since I checked in on this, glad I found it again :smile.:

Great work

Thanks. Glad you found it too! You have the top post on two pages now lol.

Due to how awful rhinos have performed so far in my recent games, I got motivated to put some drop pods together. I have to say that I abhor assembling these. One is glued shut the other two open and will have a simply painted interior. I did a lot of pre-shading in the hopes that I can get a good effect with one coat of metallic paint.

I gave preshading a try the other day, with no luck.  Could just be that it only works with certain colors though.  I imagine metallics would be fairly cooperative.  But I still bet a wash may be needed.

I've got to assemble mine tonight or tomorrow as well.  Soooo not looking forward to it.  I don't wanna mess up so many hours of work, but I am almost certain something is gonna go wrong.

Kierdale- the way the fins meet at the top around the cylinder-engine thing is crazy complicated and finnicky.

Kierdale- the base and doors go together first. But then you have to put on the fins one at a time and line them up to fit on the free-floating center piece (fan). It is a royal pain. And yes this is one of the models where pretty much everything should be painted before assembly.

Firepower- well look at the pic below and let me know how you think it worked. A wash is still needed in a lot of places.

Looks like it made a slight difference, but not a significant one.  I would just skip the step altogether and go with the wash, seeing as you need to do it here and there anyway.  Washes work a treat on metallics anyway :)

Just finished painting the last pieces of my own drop pod.  Assembly tomorrow.  I will sacrifice a chicken to the superglue gods and pray for the best :P

Small update. These guys are taking a while. Lots of details.

I am planning on using this captain from the "Masters of the Chapter" as my power armored Chapter Master. I think the double headed axe is perfect for the master of a head hunting chapter.
