Skrundle87, The Bloodthirsters head was made using the jaws from a Hive Tyrant and then bashing two Defiler masks together the same way I did my Daemon Prince.

Krautscientist, hopefully his axe is more in fitting his role over the puny power sword he had the last time we saw him. The Sentinel chainsaws were a complete fluke. I had them sitting out looking to see if I could fit them to Zephon without over balancing him and just happened to glance at the Oblit. Cue *LIGHTBULB* moment haha. I'm going to add fists to the other Oblit as well and see if I can change his chain blades. I have an idea in mind for the guardsmen but I'll have a look at that bit an see if I can find it.

Hey Biohazard !

Zephon looks great. He was cool too in Soul Reaver, but not the same "cool" :).

I'm still not sold on the Centurion kit. Your kitbash is well made, yet I can't help but think about a centurion laying on his back, waving his limbs around like a crazed turtle.

I demand more awesome stuff with pics of things and kitbashes from hell !

Thanks guys, good spot on the Legacy of Kain ref Vesper. ;)

Quick update, did a little rough GS on the Alpha Brute and tried adding some of Subtle Discords trim to the first Oblit to see how it looks. I like the chunky feel it gives but looking for some more opinions before doing the other leg.

They're nice....... (but I prefer Kraut's rhino themed lads). :smile.:

While I am really happy to hear that, I have to admit I'm not sure I prefer my own Oblitz anymore... o_O

Seriously, though: The trim on the Obliterator looks amazing and is a wonderful touch -- and an element you'll probably be very thankful for during painting, because armour trim always produces a more "chaotic" look (and provides extra definition for very little additional work). I'd definitely incorporate this element for any further Oblitz you might be working on!

The trim on the Helbrute isn't quite as impressive, but that's mainly due to the fact that it's such a small piece, whereas the impact seems far greater on the Obliterator.

I have to be honest, though: The Alpha Brute still seems less than the sum of his parts to me, if that makes any sense: All the different elements are awesome, but the model itself doesn't quite click with me yet. I am rather confident that it'll just take some slight readjustments to make the model absolutely stunning, but for now, for some reason I cannot quite explain, the composition doesn't do it for me -- maybe it's something to do with the position of the head and/or right arm? Or maybe it's just the fact that it still feels like the model you converted from the DV Helbrute would make the better Alpha guy?

...

Sorry for not being much help here, buddy

The Obliterator outshines the Alpha Brute now - the leg trim is a great touch, follows the GW Chaos ethos: "Thou Shall Pointy Arrow Chaos!"

Great use of the otherwise clunky looking Centurion armour - and that evil Chaos Raptor helmet set low like that gives him real character.

Wow, thanks a lot folks, I've been planning to add the trim to the Oblit from the beginning but wasn't sure it would work. Like I say I like the chunky solid look it adds without the shoulder guards.

OSS, Your words cut me like knives :tongue.: but I agree there are definitely elements on Krauts that I wish Id thought of.

Kraut, thanks for the comments on the Oblit, as for the Alpha I think I know what you mean, although the trim piece I added to him was just a mess about.  I do have a lot more to work on and add so stick with it I'll hopefully convince you. While I like the DV Brute I still feel he's far too different from the rest of the force. I do have plans for a converted Typhus and plague zombies as well so Nurgle may yet come a calling.... :)

  • 4 weeks later...

It's taken a long time to update with so little but real life has been throwing me a few curve balls lately. Not least of which is the news I'm going to be a father!! Really excited but also terrified of the fact I'm going to have to act like a responsible adult soon!! So at the moment my man-cave is being cleared out to provide space for a nursery.

The mini update here shows that I've added a couple of bits to the Alpha Helbrute and added more trim on the first Obliterators leg. Obliterator #2 is early WIP here as well.

Nice poses all round, especially the Dread. Such movement is difficult to achieve with one, but this dude is positively stalking forward to :censored: somebody up. It is the head tilt that does it, full of malice. Actually, where is the head from?

As for the oblitz, well it has already been said - awesome work!

Thanks for the comments on the Oblits guys. I'll have more pics when I work on them again. For now I have picked up the Gorehound again. Just messing around with a few bits. Looking to add a cockpit, mine only has a single pilot in the head down to space and I'll just explain away that the rest of the crew are in the main torso. ;) I don't think the chain blade is gonna cut it I just thought it could have been a good stand in if I did want to run it as a Knight.

Anyway onto the pics.

First off my newest tattoo on my right calf. :)

And now the Gorehound. Bear in mind I will have to do a LOT of cleanup on this before it is finished.
