The armor looks well shaded and gross in all its applications. The robes on a few of those guys are top notch though! My only opponent nowadays is my little cousin, but I've beaten him everytime we play so he's starting to lose heart in the game. Trying to make lists that should be easy on him but I dunno, heh. Max- thanks bud, I try! Flint- thanks and yeah it is a very different look. Just had the idea in my head for a long time, glad I was finally able to finish them. The wash I used is actually a shade of brown with a tiny bit of green in it, really great for Nurgle. Then I followed up with a green wash on the robes and the sores/fleshy bits. Anyway, first thing I did when I got home was get to work on something sorcerous! Just a couple WIP pics. Did some GS flames on his outstretched arm and GS'd a little tabard thingy in front. Really been putting off painting his actual head, those little lines look really intimidating... For some reason I sold all my old TS except for one head, dunno what I was thinking.....maybe I was going to use the head as a trophy, who knows. Just a OSD thing I guess all my guys have to match colors if their weapons are the same type. Deathspectre, psh cute! Thanks though man. Wicced, hmm thick you say? Might just be the quality of the photo, using my phone for these pictures. The blue is like a 1:1 ratio so that part can't be thick haha, although the metallics could be thick in some areas. I really hate painting gold... Guardian, thanks man, it's a few layers of really watered down caledor sky over a black primer. Think I'm going to do ice blue highlights and then mix in a bit of green for extreme highlights, so it looks kinda turquoise. Should be interesting to see how that turns out! He's still very WIP too, going to be adding a sort of half cape and he'll be holding the DV DA chaplain helmet in his hand. Haven't made much progress on this guy with work and summer classes but I'll start the cloak thing soon. Just have to wait for the GS and oil to dry on it and I'll prime it, but that probably won't happen for a few days at least. Anyone have any idea how long sunflower oil takes to dry? Last time I didn't let it dry fully and it cracked the paint a bit. Started with white and did repeat washes and more white, turned out well on the plague marines and his flames but the blade pretty meh. Might go back and just do some blending on it instead. His turquoise highlights didn't show up too well in the pictures either but they're pretty subtle which I like. Anyway C&C if you don't mind. He's used to inspire and be charismatic, when ushering cultists to their death lol, what better way to show that then through his facial features. BUT that's my personal Preference !
