The Tempest Hounds

Recommended Posts

LR is progressing slowly. Have blue layers, blue highlights, more metallic washing, lightning, skulls and a few more odds and ends to finish up yet. Figured out what I'm going to do with the sides though, adding a guardsman corpse hanging on one of the hooks from the CSM vehicle sprues and a little line of text on the other side. Here's the progress so far though.

Correctly placed Sponsons! Yay!

Love the Spawns. Perfect models for a Night Lords Spawn.

Indeed they have and thanks brother. It's good to see you, haven't seen any of your updates in awhile man. sad.png

yeah i've got a little modelling blues at the moment.

i've got many projects lying around in various stages of completion, but lack the drive to finish them.

but as usual, it will pass sooner or later and i'll be back with some updateswink.png

Thanks Gratan and I agree they do make great spawns for Night Lords.

Wicced, yeah I lost my inspiration for awhile but it comes and goes, hopefully you'll get yours back soon! Awaiting your return brother. :P

Alright so this thing's taken quite a bit longer than I thought it was but it's essentially finished. Glad to finally see it painted actually after seeing it sitting around primed black for so many years. Just have one thing left to do (the loyalist hanging from one of the sides). Anyway here are some pictures, C&C appreciated.

Well just finally finished up the last part of the LR, the side. Got sidetracked by Diablo 3 for a week but I'm back and another claw is already in the works next. Anyway here's that finished part of the LR.

that blood angel is awesome...but how is he being held on...

for me as a fellow Night Lord...I would say we just super glued him to the wall or mag-locked him there to rot...

but other non-chaos people are gonna be like

what

how

why...

the why just proves they are loyalist...haha

great works all around I like watching your work get better

If you look closely, you can see one of the large hooks from the tank bitz is right behind him so its being used like a meat hook in his back. Nice work Tanith, but I think he needs to be roughed up a little more... He's still basically in one piece...

you finished that beasty nicely brother :tu:

two nitpicks though, first is the clean look of the trophy marine, i mean we're night lords after all whistlingW.gif

second is the scroll on his arm, it's flowing like the tank is moving, but the purity seals and his tabard are just hanging down.

Thanks brothers aye he is indeed actually hanging from the hook. I drilled into his back and he's not actually physically touching the vehicle itself. :P Noctus and Wicced you guys are right though, think I'll drill some bullet holes in him and switch that purity seal around a bit. Glad everyone recognized what he was though! Hope my friend recognizes his own marine. :P

On the topic of the raider, I switched around the extra long purity seal so its flowing with the others (Wicced tongue.png) and the angel now has a few bullet holes in him as well.

Onto other things, been busy with this new claw. Tried some new techniques out from a friend but I'm still getting them down, on the next set of normal guys I'll sit down and take a day or two just to practice the GSing of the joints. For these guys though I'm going with the mediocre for now. tongue.png Anyway, I recently watched a movie and got the inspiration for my champion from. Any guesses who it might be? Anyway crappy pics, C&C if you don't mind.

Edit: Oh yeah does anyone know where my champion's right (anatomical) shoulderpad came from? I found it in my old bits box but I have no idea where it's from but I love the way it looks.

Hmm thanks Vazzy.

I Tanith Ghost answer the Call of Chaos and vow to complete two units of
Plague Marines, two Rhinos and a Havoc squad before January 15th 2014. I
promise to update my project at least three times per unit pledged or face the
wrath of the Dark Gods! If I do this successfully I will receive the
Mark of Dark Glory and continue on the path to ruin. If I fail I’ll wear
the Mark of the Lost and I expect no mercy on my soul!

I'll start with the two plague marine squads, will update shortly.

Looks like a cross between Jason Vorhees and The Crow so that's a win in my book.

Love the metallics on these guys. The bolter marine next to the champion...where is his left shoulderpad from? DOn't think I've seen that one before.

Yup you got it Kael, was watching one of the Jason movies a few nights before starting on these guys. The champion's name is Vorhees. :P The bolter marine with the knife in his other hand? That shoulderpad I think was from Kromlech.

Wicced the sword and the mask/helmet are from puppetswar. Here are the heads and here are the weapons. They work pretty well too, love the weapons. Can't wait to use more of the swords and the axes too.

ah darn it, i feared it would be puppetswar.

their parts are really hard to get where i live, but they've got so many great parts, like the night lord shoulder pads (i think the call him vampire lords or something like thatwhistlingW.gif )

Thank you both very much!

Sorry for my absence, I wasn't feeling very inspired to do much work but again inspiration hit me (I have no idea where it came from but it came!). Chances are I won't finish my CoC vow but I'm going to try. So up first is a chaos lord WIP and will follow up with the 2 plague marine squads here hopefully tomorrow. No paint yet, wanted to get some input before I start GS on these guys, what do you think of this guy? Sorry for the even poorer quality pictures, I just discovered the light in my painting room went out so now I only have my desk light. wallbash.gif

Same place as before, Puppetswar mayhem knights. Another update with GS on the lord, followed by the two champions of the respective squads. They still need GS and the lord needs a bit more but soon they'll be ready for paint. Both squads will also be similarly clad in sores and nurgle stuff. Fluff will follow on these guys after I finish. Something weird too, found out my new phone takes better pictures than my old camera, sign of the changing times I guess.
