Really old but this is my best bet.  Got some newer (better imo) regular power armour conversions, but don't stand out enough :P.

Incarnadinus, Daemon Prince of Khorne (others were  for scale):

God I hate people more talented than me... I'm going to be lonely in this thread, aren't I? :p

Thoroughly impressed with all of these - I think my favourite is the Night Lords chap. The background fluff is an excellent addition to flEsh them out (I suppose Phoenix Lords have to die sometime ;) ).

(Un)Holy poop, that daemon prince is insane! That's a great conversion, very clever idea with the Shaggoth body as a base. :)

This model isn't 100% finished, but I won't be able to have it completed in the deadline given above; some real life complications have come up so hobby time will be few and far between for a while.

Here is Chaplain Halford of my Confessors DIY chapter:

The headlamp faring is a combination of the out of production metal chaplain biker faring and wings from a ravenwing command squad faring. I also added a riveted armor strip onto the front fender/tire well. (I've toyed with the idea of adding aquila heads on the top join area, and tails on the bottom but havent gotten to it yet).

http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2014/286/7/0/chap_6_by_emo_catboy-d82pn5j.jpg

A decent angle showing the beginnings of Halford's confessional stole (made from an empire wizard bit and joined to the torso with milliput).  The gorget armor is from a sevrin loth honour guard torso.

Picture showcasing some of the flow of the stole vestment.

Stole draping on the other side (apologies that the picture is dark, it was raining when I took the photo and had to hold the model by hand)

15342892610_14c7da5146_z.jpg

A picture with better crozius detail showcasing the removal of the Minotaur head from this Ivanus Enkomi crozius and replacing it with one from an out of production chaplain. The skeleton is clasping a crossbar on the original metal model.  The end goal is to thread chain through the hands so the skeleton is clutching a smoking brazier or censer on a length of chain

http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2014/286/e/e/chap_7_by_emo_catboy-d82pnj2.jpg

A rear picture of the crozius: it combines pieces from the Ivanus Enkomi model (i.e the end cap on the crozius), chaplain with powerfist, chaplain with skull helmet, and out of production metal chaplain pieces.

15342837557_cce973f1f0_z.jpg

A shot from the rear; the backpack is from the new Asmodai model, with the dark angel specific iconography removed.  The smoke was englongated using a contrail from the Skaven screaming bell/plague furnace kit.

++Edit++ better pictures added, and have been spoilered to conserve thread space.++

Hell with it. I reckon a bike would be a fun challenge, and an Outrider chassis might suit your style quite well.

This guy is perhaps my favourite conversion, he's the one I wanted to build and led me to kick off my series of Conversion Challenges,

Probably my favourite ever conversion, he also has a very tragic (but quite long) back-story that I won't clog the thread up with. It'd be beyond amazing to see Greyall draw him.

Twenty-nine entries and I can't for the life of me think of how I'll choose three out of these...won't make it much better, but I've decided to select (and draw, of course) five winners. There'll be something special for the overall winner, I just haven't decided what.

I've thought of it, but I want to sharpen my own decision-making smile.png

Delvarus is progressing fast, so expect the contest to end by next Saturday or so.

Edit: The_Chaplain, is there any chance for you to take some sharper pictures of your conversion? Some details are hard to figure out.

Yes, absolutely-- I wanted to get pics up before your deadline, but my camera phone hates me. I'll borrow my fiances macro camera and post better ones ASAP

I might swap him out if I get my librarian finished in time.

Edit: I was really happy until just now, when realized that I forgot to clean off the model before attaching the strap made of cardstockwhoops.gif

The model was successfully cleaned and I have added a combat blade, as well as some better pictures.

Though the competition seems more than fierce at this point, I have chosen an entry. Cobbled together from pieces of the Dark Vengeance chaplain, the Strikeforce Ultra terminator captain, the Games Day 2008 thunder hammer captain, the Sternguard Veterans sprue, and a head from the ever-wonderful Space Marine Commander set, I present Chaplain Harrion of the Crimson Lords! Will update if I get him painted before the deadline.

Greyall, uploaded some *hopefully* better pictures of Chaplain Halford; lighting was unfortunately pretty crappy with the rain we've been experiencing in my neck of the woods today.

Is his bike called the Painkiller by any chance?

Haha, it might as well be.  I'm not even going to lie; I'm a huge metalhead, and Judas Priest is without a shadow of a doubt my favorite band-- I drew out the initial concept for the model while listening to Judas Priest's "Defenders of the Faith" album, and the name felt fitting.   I can't help but picture a chaplain smiting heretics while belting out hymnals like Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson or even Lemmy at this point.   Halford actually is a familial line in Britain however, and playing up the medieval/knightly theme was my original intent (paying homage to one of the gods of metal is an added bonus).

Thanks Greyall for hosting this challenge! There is some fierce competition brewing!

Well, I'll just check how this thread is coming along...

blink.png

By the Throne, there's some absolutely brilliant stuff here.

There's two thoughts been chasing themselves through my head for the last ten minutes:

"Damn, that's good" - thought each time I see another model in this thread, or pick out a detail I'd missed on first glance.

"Well, I might still make it if Greyall goes mad and opts to draw the top thirty" - thought just before I scroll down and see the next picture.laugh.png

EDIT:

Purge the typo! Purge it with fire and rage!

You have no bloody idea how hard I'm working on my Iconoclast to replace my current entry, sir.

Must get some Unification era Legionnaires in this competition. :P

Fear not Heathens, our brother Barabbas already beat you to the punch with this badass precursor:

I have this fellow. VIII legion Unification veteran.
