Hi, hope Im not too late to enter.

This is my Scythes of the Emperor Chapter Master "Thrasius", he's made up from various bits from forge world and GW.

I built it quite a while ago now and just never got around to painting him, the idea I had in mind when working on him was simple really..........MAKE HIM BADASS!!

In an attempt to balance all of the (frankly awesome) Power Armour shown in recent days, if it's a valid entry (the model could be seen as a kitbash as much as a conversion, albeit using WHF bitz than 40K ones), I present Dark Magos Mirosa currently allied to the Bahltimyr Reavers happy.png

i know he is subpar compared to many, but this is The old Bird. the for a time, leader of my raven guard, before they went traitor. the only decent picture i took of him was this one, and it pretty shoddy. veteran of a thousand wars, a man of old earth and a slayer of kings, The old Bird was cast away from command and discarded decades before the dropsite massacre, yet he still fought, and died, on those accursed obsidian sands.

(the wrist to mace hand joint is meant to be at that angle, don't worry, its not broken.tongue.png . the gap was eventually filled with gs)

Chosen Tshengu, Loyal bodyguard to Vikan Prixus lord of the 123rd company VIII legion, cult-brother of Yaga the cannibal wytch. Known as the Dark-Hearted, within the confines of his cell, he holds something precious, in a cryogenic box at the end of his cotbed. Something precious, something loved, something dead.

Post your best conversion here, and if it reaches top 5, I be drawin' it :)

Only SM, CSM and Daemons allowed, only one entry per person. Lasts until I post my next finished drawing, which should be happening in around two or three days.

Well, been a while since I posted here, but seems as good a time as any to start again.

So, I originally posted this guy a long time ago to introduce my DIY Chapter and get some feedback. After some technical difficulties it didn't work as well as I'd hoped, so I might as well try again. Frankly the workmanship is shoddy compared to the models on display here, the sword is not at all how I wanted it to come out, and he breaks so much it'd be less painful to remake him from scratch.

However, he's my first ever model so butts to it. Here is my entry for Greyall's contest.

The picture isn't great. It isn't awful, either. Let me know if a better picture would change my chances, but given that some folks are posted unpainted things, I have a feeling that the question is less "what's the best model" and more "what inspires Greytall?" That, I think I can do!

The claw hand is an open-handed Space Wolf power fist with the wolf iconography shaved off. Then I clipped off the tip of each finger, mutilated a lightning claw (I never much liked lightning claws) and carefully glued the blades where the finger joints had been. It's my favorite conversion. I kind of what to do a whole squad of dual lightning claw terminators and find enough open-handed power fists and lightning claws to do all their gauntlets this way... but that's crazy talk. And also lightning claws aren't all that good on terminators (though, by the way, it turns out that they are often REALLY good on Blood Angel captains... biggrin.png, especially if he's got a power fist on the other hand...). I also made the "iron" halo behind him, and I'm quite proud of how it turned out as well. I had to chop up a spare sanguinary guard head to make it work.

Anyway, his name is Captain Calin Vassago, master of the Knights of Blood 5th Company, and I always imagined him as a moody, almost bipolar maniac - cheerful and gregarious one minute, grim and death-wishy the next - but he's either got a touch of Sanguinius's foresight or some brilliant tactical instincts, because when he throws himself headlong into the worst of the fighting, it almost always somehow turns out to be the right choice.
