Akan's Reavers

Now, as for our home.... I'm thinking of using the Magog System, which sits right at the edge of the Maelstrom and is marked as +Forbidden+ on the map. We won't use the actual planet though, instead we will have been given control of orbital station, which will be a small Space Hulk modified as a docking station (think like Shipwreck Cove in Pirates of the Carribean, lol). Name-wise, I'm thinking 'Hellion's Refuge', but again, if y'all got a better idea, I'd love to hear it. This place will be used for multiple purposes (sale of slaves, illict items, dry-dock, etc), but primarily it will be used as a Forward Operating Base for raids into the Badab system.

@1000heathens. Very nice idea.

A small Space Hulk modified as a docking station like Shipwreck Cove, I think that the Reaver wrecks in Serenity would be more apt.

I will think of an IC response for Maximillian DeWitt.

For now.... Scrap for the Scrap Gods! Assimilate!

@Excedius: Oh, blood will be spilt, Crimson Angel...

@Scion: Ha, great minds think alike, lol. I'd thought about the Serenity reaver fleet too, but the Shipwreck Cove feeling was too awesome to pass up, plus it will help to actually have a dock to conduct buisness and repairs. How about an amaglam of the two? Hellion's _____ will be the docking yard / marshalling point, and the space around it will be flooded with half wrecked (but active) ships of all classes, with the vox-waves choked with screams of terror, and blood gurgling past lips?

Since it's worked out so well in the past...lets put the Space dock's name to a vote. (Damn, we have to be the most democratic warband in 40k history, lol)

Hellion's Refuge

Hellion's Haven

Hellion's Hideaway

Hellion's Harbour

Oh yes...spilt blood is quite refreshing at night, and a good thing to wake up to. Nothing is better to wake you up then freshly spilt blood........at least thats how Apostolos likes his coffee.

And I second the Harbour. Sounds more like the pirates of the carribean place then anything. Also sounds more like a place for other groups to meet but run by one more powerful group.

Huron and Akan sharing a drink.

Huron: So where are you living now?

Akan: Hellion Harbor.

Huron: *chuckles* Really? That old dump.

Akan: It suits my purposes.

Huron: I'll share a secret with you. All megalomanics do this.

Akan: Do tell.

Huron: Name it after yourself.

Akan: That's incredibly lame.

Huron: Really? I am the Tyrant of Badab. Everyone in the Imperium knows my name. Badab is simply a byword for me.

Akan: I suppose...

Huron: Son I am disappoint. Heathen Harbor, nice ring to it. You see it belongs to you now.. Even though I'm pretty sure you stole it. But fear not, soon enough I will take it from you.

Akan:...

Huron: *finishes drink* Your shout eh, old chap.

Akan: *reaches for wallet while mumbling curses*

Heathen Harbor?

But yeah Hellion Harbor.

Brilliant work here, Heathens, and everyone else too! Loving all the characters, that's what having a renegade force is all about! Maybe if you do get on to a third squad, Akan's Reavers and the Iron Gods could have themselves a little 'exchange program' of sorts? :pirate:

I like the flag, personally I went with the original meaning of the Jolly Roger - quote from wiki:

it is assumed by most that the name Jolly Roger comes from the French words jolie rouge, meaning "pretty red" and referring to a plain red flag which was flown to indicate that the ship would fight to the death, with no quarter given or expected.

..but I really like the red on black you've gone for here. Perhaps you could even vary the design slightly for each squad, e.g. red skeleton on black with a crown for Akan himself, then no crown but holding a sword/spear for one squad, and something else (maybe a hourglass or something?) for the other? Might nicely highlight the individual nature of the units, but still showing their loyalty to their commander?

Also, I like Heathen's/Hellion's Harbour, it has a nice ring to it either way.

I'm not a big fan of alliteration in 40K as a general rule of thumb, and I think "hellion" doesn't work well for a group of blood-thirsty piratical Space Marines.

So, according to everyone's favorite free online encyclopedia, Magog was one of the sons of Noah, and apparently, the majority ethnic group of Hungary (Magyars) claim descendance from him (thus the term Magyar). Now, because I'm all about historic parallels, the main naval base for the Austro-Hungarian Empire was at Pola.

Therefore, I would like to call it the Pola Anchorage.
