2nd ed era Khorne Berzerker I painted two week ago.  There still bit to finish painting, like adding highlight to the transfer.  I'm not quite sure what I will get done for the chainsword.  But try get somthing sorted out ether tomorrow or during the weekend.  Just wanted to get them painted & get a rough idea how I'd want the models to look.

These 10 Khorne Berzerker just got undercaoted earily today as well as useing the Mephiston red spray basecoat.  Look like I may found the unit there Champion should should be arrive in the post next week.  It a metal Chaos (Khorne) Marines from RT era.  Or maybe a HQ chose for my Daemonkin force?

Then the Black Legion force I'm current painting for a friend to use in a few local tournaments.  They got the army just before the supplament was updated.  This will be the Slannesh warband with in the Black Legion.  I'm painting them in a sort diffrent mind set than I would paint my Iron Warriors.  Just I've got to get them all ready preferible before end of July so my friend can get a few games with this warband.

 

So right now just trying to get all the basecoat done, metal work done, etc... all that once.  Then going back to the units & getting all detail painted like Chaos iocns, etc...

 

These two Rhinos have been undercaoted earily today.  The models to the right are going to be Cultist, useing the Witch Elfs models, they will be part of my second vow for ETL.  While bottem of that box is going to be Spawn for his warband.

Then the two unit of Chosen & one unit of 20 Chaos Marines.  One thing I do regreat is after building the Warp Talons, forgetting how much extra parts, just I'd use the Raptors helmet for the Chosen models/units.  But the models have already been glue & try sort anything was just going to damage the models.

So next week will see these units get all the detail work painted & as said onto things like Chaos icon.  Just need to think of a sort of Slannesh colour to paint onto the models.

 

I've still got Abaddon & Be'lakor to undercaot.

Then part vow 2 will be Terminators, Obliterator, Cultist & Land Raider for this Black Legion force, as well as the spawn & possible Noise Marines?

While my own models will possible be Chaos Knight (FW), Rengade Knight.  Right now I've got a few parts to make up a unit of Chosen & possible try get them a Dreadclaw.  Also the classic Chaos model I've got arrive in the post next week for my Daemonkin & also the classic Chaos Dreadnought from Dosjetka I've still sort out.

Excellent work on the Iron Circle! If you ever want to use them as something other than a Contemptor in your 40k armies, you could also go the way of using them as Kaselan Robots for your Dark Mechanicum Detachment, as your comparison photo shows that they are pretty close in size to a Contemptor, and so are the Kastelan Robots -- just saying... ;)

 

I also really like your paintjob on the old plastic 'zerkers (still my favourite bunny ear helmet design, btw), but I do have to say that an entire, huge mob of the exact same model in the exact same pose does seem a little strange amidst an army that has otherwise been converted and customised to the umpteenth degree. Don't get me wrong, the paintjobs are fantastic, but maybe you should at least make a few small conversions and tweaks to the second batch of models?

Just quickly say - With the 2nd ed era Berzerker.  I just wanted to paint them as they where (beside given them new 32mm base as Power Armour models look a LOT better on the 32mm base) for old time sake as they where the core of my Black Legion force just before the current multi part models where release.  Again just for old time sake, with Icon Bearer & a RT era model I should be getting next week who'll be the unit Champion or Lord?

When I get to my Daemonkin force there will be a lot conversion for my standard Chaos Marines & Berzerker useing mix of Age of Sigmar models.  I've got a lot planned for this small Daemonkin warband :D

Update

 

So some time stuff happen & sort of knock you off track, that what June pretty much been like.  Adding onto that, my lap top ended up not working.  But thankful the Mechanicus have granted me a brand new lap top that I'm still getting use to.

But it new month & time push forward.

Any time kept aside for the hobby been spent getting the Black Legion force painted for my friend to use in a few local tournaments.  Here how there looking so far.

 

Way I paint armies for other are diffrent from the way I paint my own models.  Right now I'm about to get the models complete for ETL reason, but once the whole army fully painted I'm going to go back, add battle damage & extra stuff once everything painted.  Just allow me to spot anything that I may miss or just need tidy up painting wise or add any other finial details.

 

So here the Rhinos I've been painting today for the two unit of Chosen.  I'm hoping to get them finish on Sunday, as well as build the last few units so there ready for the next vows for ETL.

Then Be'lakor.  I gotten Be'lakor from them a while back, but chose to wait until I started painting the Black Legion force.  So first photo was one I'd taken back just a few hours before my lap top chose to stop working.  Again I've just started painting him, along side Abaddon during this week & wanted to get base painted today.  I'm wanting to try get both models finish ether Sunday or Monday latess.

Getting my Daemonkin force on the go.  So this was from the Battleforce I bought a good few months ago.  I just need another Battleforce for my planned 1850pts, then going on to add the Chaos Marine element to this Daemonkin warband.

Then just put this here - I've not forgotten my Space Wolves.  Still sort out a few things, but the army log will be returing soon.  Here a unit of Bloodclaws that are current been built, I just need Beastmen shield for the theme I want to go for & just make it easy say if there next to a unit of Long Fangs or Grey Hunter in game.

So with Vow 1 for ETL almost complete.  I'm just planning on what to do next.

 

- Black Legion:  So right now my main goal to get the Black Legion force fully painted for my friend.  I think I've got three weeks to get what left built & painted.  I'd like to keep the third week aside just to tidy up & add any further detail to the models, pretty much ready drop off for them.  There first event in August & I'll try see if I can get a army photo of them.

 

Iron Warriors:  As always, there always a unit & models I want to add.  End of the day it all about cool models rather than what ever the current "top" internet list is, for me.

 

- Possessed:  After a few friends have use them with there own Chaos Marine armies.  I've been thinking about building a unit.  I'd like to try theme them around mini Obliterators, sort of the first stage.  Like we see in BL novel where a IW battle brother in a Raptor unit notice how his wargear starting to become part of him.
So I'm still working out idea before getting this unit.

 

- Chosen w/Dreadclaw.  Pretty much Dreadclaw was suggested by one of my friends back in May & why I've never had one in my army.  Though a unit of Chosen would be cool, theme them around the Star War ARC Trooper.

 

- Another Iron Circle model.  There just really cool.

 

- Chaos Knights:  I've still got both Knight models to get converted.

 

So I'd like to try get this lot sort of planned for Vow 2 for ETL

Just Oct time going to mark 20 years since I started collecting Chaos Marines, Black Legion thanks to White Dwarf 202.  So I've been thinking going back & bring my old warband back.  With them been Khorne heavy theme - 2nd ed era Berzerker & then later the multi part models.  I'm going with the Hound of Abaddon formastion.

 

Also forgot to add - Look like my Iron Warriors have got there sight on next Throne of Skulls in Septemeber.  I'm really looking forward to this.  Beside Throne of Skulls been a really great event.  It also land on my birthday as well, so instead of spending my birthday travel back.  Just spend it that Warhammer World & get a few games against friends I know in Nottingham.

Also took part in my wargaming club first 40k double tournament.  Pretty much, you could't have say Eldar ally with Eldar & Allies of the Apoclypse was remove just help out for people get team together.

It followed the old Conflict Scotland force org chart where it was 1 HQ, 2 Troops, 1 Elite, Heavy &/or Fast Attack, if you wanted a second Heavy support, you needed to unit in all those chose, same if you wanted a third chose.

 

Really enjoyed the day, even though my team mate force got wipe out turn 3 round 1, turn 2 round 2, turn 4 in round 3 - that one was because we didn't want him to get the spot prize for someone who got there force wipe out.......

 

There also a lot really cool armies.  From Tau & Guard (Guard theme as those join Tau), to Grey Knight & Eldar that won over all best army.  There where 6 diffrent armies that had votes, the Tau/Guard army, my own, Tezentch Daemons & Dark Angels, Blood Angels & Imperial Fist & one more which sadily I've forgotten

Then round 2.  Pretty much:

 

- Ravenwing & White Scar stole turn 1.

- Tau get wipe out on the RW/WS turn 2 (photo taken on our turn two).

- Turn 2, my unit of Cultist done more damage in one round combat, than my Tau team mate had done.  They charge a unit of Ravenwing Knights (5?) wipe them out.  I think I loss two models to overwatch & then a few more models in combat, only having four models left in the unit.  I was really gutted the Cultist Champion never turned into a Daemon Prince with the mount of 6's I was rolling for save, hit, wound, look out sir.

I'm going to take two army list again as it was fun chose between armies during Throne of Skulls March - Just note on that, none of the list where taloir & I never pick my army base on the oppent.  I just pick the army I wanted to game with.

 

So one will be my Battle Forge, pretty much my core army list but few changies - pretty much a few units I've not use in a while.  Then unbound which will have my Siege Knight conversion & few new models like the maulerfiend.

 

With Throne of Skulls been around same time as my birthday.  I'm sort out a game on my birthday after Throne of Skulls event against my friend - 3000pts & book the Shrine World Boralis IV table that Warhammer World.  It look cool & fit in with the planet my Iron Warriors are battle over in my army background.

I was hoping to get the Black Legion side of Vow 2 for the ETL complete for today.  But sadily with the recent heatwave - as always it led to me getting a really bad headache, that only just clear a hour ago.  Just mean I've got a lot work to get done on Friday & Sunday.  I want to spend next week tidy up/any last moment stuff need painting & hopeful drop off the Black Legion force with my friend so they can get a few games & ready for there first tournament in a few weeks time.

However I did mange to get two Chosen Battle Brother built yesterday.  There part my my ETL & since May I've been thinking of adding a Dreadclaw unit.

Also with Throne of Skulls in a month & a week?  I think I will try get a unit of Possessed converted & be part of my unbound list I'm take - along side my Battle forge/core of my 5th Grand Company when going to event.
Once things are sorted, I'm going to start buying the models I will need for Throne of Skulls.

Quick update

Though I'd take some quick photos of the new unit of Chosen for my Iron Warriors.  Both models should be finish tomorrow, with just the trophies, blood for the blood god & a few other parts left to paint.  Was just getting the Games Workshop water effect onto the base when the photos where taken.

I've got another order with Bitz box for the rest of the squad of Chosen.  I'll also need to remind memeber that my gaming club not to forget to bring the Power Axe from the Thunder Wolves kit they said they had spare, so I can get the Champion of the unit built.

So if all goes to plan, I should hopeful have three more Battle Brother built on Monday & ready for painting.

 

Also mange to get a hour & a bit spare to get some time toward getting the Knight built.  Both models have been waiting there since the Renegade box game was release in April.
I said one of my friends is moving house & is clear up some of the models they no longer need.  I shown a while back the two complete spure worth of Bloodletter.  I also got a few Age of Sigmar models from the box game & use part from the Icon toward both Knight models.

So there still a lot work get done & still bit planning/idea's.  I'm not sure if I will have both models ready in time during the ETL with only a few weeks left which will be gutting.

 

I've also just place a order with Forge World for the Dreadclaw that will be the new unit of Chosen transport.  I'm going to try aim this as my Vow 3 for ETL.

Update

 

I did have a few more photos of the Black Legion commission, but sadily not turn out right or to blurry :(  I think I press a button/setting on the camera.  So I'll try take new photos near the end of the week & hopeful have Vow two complete for ETL.

 

But right now there almost there.  Just spent today painting the Land Raider as part my ETL vow.  As well as painting the Obliterators.  I'm a little delayed, but I'm hoping to have everything painted by Friday.  Then I want to spend Sunday, Monday & Tuesday getting all the models tidy & then just case of dropping of the Black Legion force with my friend.  As said there first tournament in a few weeks time & I'm going to try get a photo of the whole force.

 

When I'm painting for other, as said I go in a diffrent mind set.  I want to get all the models to a set stage.  Then once everything there, go back & add those finial detail, like wanting to add Chaos rune, they'll be added during the Sunday/Monday/Tuesday when getting everything all finish.  Also just allow me to check the models with fresh eyes,

Dreadnought.  I like how this has turn out with a few spare Daemon Prince bits I had.  I think the model really needed the loin cloth added to him.

Then another two Battle Brother for this unit of Chosen that will get painted tomorrow.  Also with my bitz box order arrive today, spend a little bit of time converting the Bolter arm Battle Brother for the unit.  Depend how it goes with the Black Legion force, then the Bolter model might possible get painted on Friday.

I also need to remind person that my gaming club to bring the Thunder Wolves power axe so I can build the Champion for this unit.

Yes, Dreadclaw just arrive today.  With the Knights, yes they will be in the same colour as my current force, all give me chose & most of all, all been really cool models.

 

 

Can I ask ya, what blue do you use to highlight the black?
 

 

The Fang or older ed of the paints Shadow grey.  Then if you want to go further, Russ Grey.  But this is the main colour I use for highlight black paint.

 

Quick update

 

I think I may have sorted out my camera, possible just wrong button.

 

So after spending this moring that Castle Campbell just get space & clear my head.  Spend a few hour today painting the Cultist for my friend Black Legion army, along side the Obliterator useing the Skaven models with few spare Dark Eldar mask.

 

Right now the army nearly finish.  I'm spending Sunday, Monday & Tuesday pretty much getting all those last detail painted & making sure everything ok.  But for ETL reason, aim Sunday or latess Monday to get my vow 2 complete.

Then mange to get a spare hour & a bit to try convert the Champion for my brand new unit of Chosen.  The serco arm with screen inspired by Dantioch, as he use this part for his Heresy Iron Warrior commander.  While the servo arm on the backpack from the plastic techpriest (rest model going to be use as a Cultist Champion).

Then as said there, my Forge World order arrive with my Dreadclaw & Renegade brass etching.  I'm not quite sure when I'm going to get this built to be honsty.  I was hoping to get this ready for ETL vow 3.  Right now it - Try get the Black Legion force painted for my friend & ready drop off with them next week, with the tournament just two week (from tomorrow).  Not just that, but I need to tidy up my room as work getting done to the house, so unsure if I can get models like this & my Renegade Knights built or painted :(

I've also said about looking to add a unit of Possessed.  Since thinking about it, I'm now starting to lock down on ideas how I want this unit to look.  As said, one my aim is to theme them around the Obliterator virus, sort of the first stage, since Iron Warriors look down upon the more warp mutation look.  So right now I've got the idea in my head, it just case of now getting those parts & start building the models.  There going to be 7 of them right now, with the Mark of Khorne which I though was pretty cool.

 

But when looking for idea for there Rhino transport.  I'm thinking going along the line of Christian Bryne vindicator that was shown in White Dwarf 301 (UK).  Just the look & colour of the model really cool & really fit the theme of the Iron Warriors.

On that note - I'm aim on pick up a few things tomorrow from my local Warhammer Store.  From new Maulerfiend, possible box to start the Possessed models?  I'm also pick up some other Chaos models for a diffrent game, however some of the parts from the Varanguard Knight will be kept aside for the Possessed as well, as there some really cool weapons.

Just bought this lot during the weekend.

- Chaos Marines, for my IW Possessed unit.

- Techpriest, again use servo arm toward the IW Possessed, while the Techpriest will be built ether as a Cultist Champion or for my Chaos Guards as it just a really cool model.

I've just been spending the past few days getting my friend Black Legion force all finish up & ready for there first event a week from Saturday.  So today just getting all the last moment stuff done & painting the edge of the base.

So this will be getting drop off with them this week so they can get some games.  I'll try get a whole army photo that the event it self.  It been fun painting the army & I think it taken me June & July to get that lot built & painted along side a lot of other models that where not in the photo.

 

Also mange to quickly get some time toward the two Knight models.  So just adding brass etching & adding the loin cloth to the Knights.  I just need to sort there base & they be ready for paint pretty soon.  My aim with the Renegade set was to make one a Battle cannon version just give me chose, while with the Renegade version (rule wise) I wanted to go for somthing that the Forge World Chaos Knight rules don't have.  Then the main reason for any of my models, they just look cool.

Dreadclaw - I just got the model on Friday there & got the model built on Sunday.  I'm just planning on what to do with the base.  I want to try possible model the Dreadclaw show it crashing into the earth, but it mean cutting off a few legs so it can fit onto the Archaon base.  Then just add green stuff around it.  So still working out a few things before I start painting the Dreadclaw.  But it has been a nice model to build.

With my ETL vow 2 complete.  I'm possible looking that a third vow.  Sadily it will not be the Knights or the Dreadclaw.  As said with the Knights, I need to sort out the base.  The Dreadclaw need a bit green stuff added & again the base need done.  Then next week I need to clear my painting station, with work happing in the house it going to become a bit limited to try paint any models.

But I've had this single spure Champion model since two year ago, 2014.  I'm thinking of converting him for my Daemonkin force.  Theme wise, he will ether be second in command or part of the chain of command.  I'm going to use the Forge World Berzerker body & pads, while I've got the Night Lord Terror squad helmet arrive next week.

Quick update

 

So this week I've been focuse on having the Black Legion force all ready to go & make sure everything ok.  They will be taken part in a local tournament this weekend.

 

Also with the finial week of the ETL.  I've made one finial vow.  I've had the Chaos Champion model for almost two year & though it be pretty cool to built him up as a second in command for my new Daemonkin force when I start building up the Marine side of it.

I'm not all to keen on the mutation look of the Dark Vengeance or the champion model, don't get me wrong they are cool.  Just it not for me.

Yeah its been a while, I took a break from 40k after Deepstrike Radio ended, I needed to cleanse my pallet as it were.  I am back now and am working on some 30k Space Wolves since we will see Forgeworld covering them by years end!
