Update

 

I hope I've got my camera sorted.  I think I just needed to delete a lot of photos as it happen past few times that photos went blurry due to little space on the camera.

 

So I'll give this a try.

 

Some new Dark Mechanicus. As said I've recently work out a 1850pts army list & aim to try get as much of this before the end of the year so I can get this army ready for some games. There been a few changies in units where I need a few extra weapon. While model on the left will stand in as my Warlord until I think of a new conversion to look a bit more warlord like.

They will be painted this week.

The classic Chaos Lord. As said he one my favrout models & I wanted to buy the model as I'm unsure how long he might be on the Games Workshop web site? I might buy another one soon just to keep in the blister so the model there.

There still afew parts left to paint on the model like the tube & H beam. I want to add Chaos rune on the cape. I'm happy how the transfer turn out. I just wanted to add somthing cool to the cape & went with the White Chaos icon from the Chaos Marine transfer sheet. As said I'm going to paint rune which will be in red/yellow as seen on all my Iron Warrior shoulder pads.

Following the Games Workshop youtube video - Painting Ultramarines has been a big help & gloss varnish is the best way to make life easy when useing transfer follow by seal it with gloss varnish. Then once the whole model complete or near finish, just spray matt varnish to blend the transfer in & get rid of the shine look.

World Eater Rhino.  There still a few things left to paint.  But I'm going to wait until I get the unit built & painted.  The unit should hopeful start this weekend when I get my Horus heresy box game.  Also need to pick up a box of Assault Marines for a few Close Combat weapons, while rest models from that kit will be kept aisde for my Space Wolves when I try go back to update them.

Past few time photos been a bit blurry - Melta arm Iron Warrior who was built to see how the 32mm base would look before update the other 19 models.  They will soon be followed by the rest 90+ Power Armour models in my collection.

 

The Terminator with Dark Mechanicus helper who where built a few days before I went to Rapid Fire a few weeks back.  Wanted the Terminator to be theme around a Apothercary like a few of my other squads have in there ranks.

Just said a few post ago.  It really helpful to keep a note book for the hobby.  This is a great way to note down how you've painted set models & armies.  In this case, when I was painting my World Eater Rhino, I forgotten how I'd painted a test World Eater model that was painted two year ago & couldn't match the same way. 

 

Not just that, but it a good way to keep tag on next unit you want to buy & get built, painted & reading for gaming.  Or any hobby challenge, like Call of Chaos, good way to keep note on the units & models you've added.  Also to note down any conversion idea you might have & parts needed for it.

The Iron Warriors look stellar, your collection is huge!

 

Something that just struck my mind which could be cool for Iron Warriors spesifically is to do some "bikers" using the Khorne Juggernauts, feels like it'd fit with the whole half machine thing they got going, and I envision the Iron Warriors colors to look pretty great on them. Just an idea.

 

The red looks really vibrant! You seem to be good with the color, was looking back through the threat and the bloodthirsters wings looked especiallty good to me.

I have been thinking about converting up a Lord on Juggernaut.  Part this is because of the plastic models looking really cool.  Another part was a little nod back to the 2nd ed era Chaos Lord on Juggernaut.  I use to have that model but I think I trade it for the limited ed Emperor Champion (one my other favrout models).

With the Bloodthirster - Following the Games Workshop video over on youtube really help.  For the wings, after following the guide there.  Just add gloss varnish, for me this was just to help the highlight a bit more & to try add another texture to the model.  It seem to be one of the focuse point with the Bloodthister model.

Update

 

Just pick up this lot during the weekend.  The Vindicator was part of a trade (spare Heldrake model I got from a friend a while back) with Biohazard during the DWARF Winter War tournament on Saturday.  I also pick up another classic Metal Chaos Dreadnought.  Then during today pick up my Horus Heresy box game & white dwarf.

Horus Heresy

 

I'm going to use one lot of the MkIV armour spure toward my World Eater unit/conversion for Call of Chaos.  This should hopeful happen during the week.
While the rest of the models will be built for this game.  10x MkIV will be painted as Heresy Iron Warriors & possible convert up the Command model, while the other half of the set will be painted up as Ultramarines.  This way it allow friends to borrow models if they want a game or friends who do have there own copy allow us to swap Horus v Emperor side.

 

While models I'm useing for the World Eater, they will be replace with MkIII models I painted for a Hobby challenge two year ago

Also my Lord of Skulls has return during today.  It been agies since he been with my Grand Company.  With all my models now here, I'm going to try get a new photos of my Iron Warriors force along with Knight, Chaos Guards & Dark Mechanicus as they are.  Also allow me get a quick photo before the 32mm change over on the Power Armour models.

Right now I'm back onto my Call of Chaos vows & with that return is complete the Wyvrens & with that also mean my Chaos guards are that 1850pts.  As said I'm really happy to have the army all painted after a few years with this project going on/off over that time & getting to stage it needed to happen or never.

 

I'm going to add onto my Chaos Guards with a few new units from Armour 13: Lost & the Damned.  Not quite sure yet, going have a good look that the Forge World book during the Christmas holiday.

Spent a few hour ago building up the Vindicator.  Need to wait a few week until I buy the Zombie Dragon kit so it can tie in with the Vindicator model I built a few year ago.  I want to try get a squad of them on the go.  Might try get the third one bought during the Christmas holidays.

As said there, one Saturday I went to DWARF Winter War tournament which was for charity.  It was a really good day, DWARF always run a great event.

- Eldar

- Orks

 

There was a lot of Chaos armies as well, from standard codex to Daemonkin & all really cool, all armies diffrent.

Game vs Orks.  My oppent had commented how the Ork Warlord taken down two Knight in combat.......... they mange to get a third one, still shock how I failed four hits.  But again & along with round 1 & 2, was a really great game to end the event.

Call of Chaos

- World Eater:  Pretty much try get the unit built during this week useing the MkIV armour along with the World Eater upgrade kit I bought from Forge World last month during the 40k open day.  Get them ready to paint as soon as possible.  Also add MkIV backpack to the Rhino crew so that all finish as well.

 

- Sorcerer:  I've just order the Heresy Alpha Legion commander, Harrowmaster?

He should be arrive any day now & going to be use toward my Iron Warriors Sorcerer conversion along with the base.

 

- Nurgle Lord:  He will get sorted soon.  Just try get one parts & try get him built

 

- Vindicator:  Waiting a few weeks for money toward the hobby after getting the heresy box set.  Get that Zombie Dragon kit.

 

General adding onto my Iron Warriors

- Metal Chaos Dreadnought:  I'm going to try the FW Iron Warrior transfer.  Be honsty I never exspected to get another one & as said before I like this model.

 

- Convert up a new plastic Chaos Dreadnought, but that will be model I'm planning to paint during the Christmas holidays.

 

- Forgefane unit.  So there pretty much sorted idea wise.  Just depend if Forge World release the IW Siege Tyrant before Christmas or not?  Other wise I'll be asking for Chaos Marine box set & Rhino so I can build this unit during the holidays.

 

- Juggernaut lord.  I'm wanting to convert up a Lord on Juggernaut as a nod back toward the 2nd ed model that I use to have.  Also the plastic Juggernaut models are cool, be honsty I've never really seen the spure for the kit.

 

I'm also thinking of possible adding a Deflier to my army & have it a bit more control by Iron Warrior crew or have Iron Warrior crew who are part of the Deflier.  Not quite sure yet, need to re-read the Honso short stories in the Iron Warriors omnbius for further idea's.  But somthing I can work out & keep aside for ETL next year.

Hey I built that Ork haha.:D He is getting a bit of a reputation for killing Knights though. Great pics of the tournament though mate. That Slaanesh army was really nice, I heard today I think they raised over £3000 for the charity in one day.

 

I have another Jugger Lord in progress I'll post pics when I get home from work. What do you have planned for the Jugger and plastic Dread? I like your idea for the Defiler as well though.

 

Just notice the word bearer stickers, I'd seen the Ultra ones before but the chaos ones are way cooler. :tu:

Dreadnought will use the plastic Chaos & along the line of my Warpsmith one converted up last year.  But theme it on a Fallen Champion.  Still working out some parts & should hopeful start gather parts soon & going check out a few copy of the White Dwarf fro two year ago as there two great issue showcase Dreadnought conversion.

Juggernaut Lord - I'll see what the spure are like, but I'll use ether the Iron Warrior upgrade helmets for this or MkIII.

 

Wouldn't mind theme them around some of the Horus Heresy models I'll be building from the box game as well.

 

The Word Bearer stickers are cool.  There lot really cool icon, I'll need to try get a scan of them for future models.  Like the icon in the middle, bottem row.

Great pictures from what looks like a great event. Us gamers are always giving a lot to charity it seems.

With Winter War, ended up with £3100 going toward charity which was really cool with 5 diffrent games system happing & around 80 people give or take.

As said there, Winter War tournament a great event to end the year as well.

 

Thanks but it ok.  I'm not really to keen on the Dreadnought/hellbrute from the Dark Veanage (sp) box game to be honsty.

 

Update

 

So today mark the 14th year I've been collecting the IV Legion, my 5th Grand Company.  With a mail order back when you could order bitz, arrive for me to convert up Warsmith Abhorred Riddick to led my force for Conflict Scotland 2002 which I've shown before & done a updated version earily this year?.  Also back when Iron Warriors followed the rules from Index Astarties article in the White Dwarf.

 

Then four year ago saw me start up my Mk6 version & this army log.

 

The first model for this new version of my Iron Warriors has change a lot over those four years.  With parts added to the backpack, Armour plate loin cloth & recently the new 32mm base.  Along with his Battle Brothers led by Bronn Tal, have been one of my most trusted units I've use during these past years, always been main part to any army list.

Mange to get the 2nd ed Metal Dreadnought built during past few days.  Though the super glue been acting funny with the colder weather.  Just there been moment when say the hull fallen apart 24 hours after glueing the model.

Started building my World Eater unit yesterday.  There still a few more battle brother to build for this unit.  But pretty much wanted to get bulk of the unit made & get a idea how I'd want them to look.  The Flesh hound model will be there unit mascot.  It just a cool model & wanted to try & paint one after seen the guide over on the Games Workshop youtube page.

The 5th Grand Conpany is indeed a army to aspire to. Once I finish my call I'll try and get a group shot of everything I have painted.

I think right now the models will be straight from the box, apart from the command.  I'm wanting to try get use to useing transfer a bit more.  I've already started building a few models from the set & there really cool.  Really hope to see these models release in the near future.

Box set is really worth picking up.  Then I'm looking forward to getting a few games next week :D

I'm still aim for the Warhammer World Chaos vs Ultramarine level.  That display really cool, there a lot happing & no matter how many time's I've seen the display there always a new idea taken from it.  It from the display that led to the Siege Knight & Raptors as a exsample as well as the World Eater unit.

Really great to see you have a unit that has stayed with you through it all.

 

Yes - As said few time.  Each ed will carry on the unit name & add even more cool history thanks to the great games they've fought in.  Some models like Narach (Lord in Terminator armour) use to be a Champion in Warsmith Abhorred Riddick unit of Chosen Bodyguards.  Or Krull the Sorcerer.

I like having all my units having there own theme & again thanks to great games help add onto there history.  Just Bronn Tal unit seem to be one of the main chose over the past four years with this version of my army & always seem to be in the list along with my Terminators when I can.

Lord of Skulls model really great.  I really enjoy building & painting the model.  Can't belive two years have past since I gotten the model.  Sort why I want to add the Kytan daemonic walker from Forge World.  I've got a idea.  Just I'm unsure if I will go with the complete kit from Forge World or try convert the model with Deflier legs?
I think one of my friends who started a Daemonkin force maybe getting one for them selfs.  But it will be a little while, possible ETL time?

Also got a bit of painting done to the Bloodborn unit, a unit inspired by Khârn Eater of World novel & the Warhammer World display with Chaos vs Ultramarines.

 

I've still got to add transfer useing the Forge World Horus Heresy sheet for the World Eater.  Then it just to get purity seal varnish onto the models, Games Workshop water effect & finial bits like Blood for the Blood god.

I also have another few battle brother to build for this unit before they are complete for my Call of Chaos vow.

I spent a few hours converted up my Iron Warrior sorcerer vow for Call of Chaos, useing the Alpha Legion commander from the Horus Heresy set.

I'm most like going to glue the base all togather as it look really cool & the main reason for the models I add into my army.

Then spent a little bit of time a few hour ago before DrWho, adding the Zombie Dragon skull onto the Vindicator as well as remove icon & adding brass etching onto the Vindicator hull.

I'm hoping to get a little bit of time tomorrow so I can start adding bone from the kit to help show the warp effect on the tank & help tie in the theme with the Vindicator I converted up three year ago.

 

I'm wanting to try get a squad of these done, inspired by the Space Marine codex & none my friends have any problem with me borrow those rules in friendly games.

Then the classic metal Chaos Lord.  It was just add the rune letter onto the axe & that him complete.  I'm really happy with the model & buying him.  As said the Chaos Lord one of my favrout models & still stand up to today era of models in my view.

Just getting set to rebase my Power Armour models in my Iron Warriors force.  So far I have 77 32mm base kept aside.  I think I need 94 in total.  I am looking forward to this, the 32mm base are cool & that way I'm going to use them for all future Power Armour models.  This is just my chose.

Just sort out a to-do box & help keep any models that are current WIP.  The Dark Mechanichs models just need varnish, so they'll get varnish same time as the World Eater unit just shown in this post.  While the Hours Heresy models just get undercaoted & base coat spray on to them so there ready for my first Horus Heresy game this week & so I can start painting them when I've got a free moment.  Right now all focuse is on Call of Chaos.

Finial.  Warhammer World web site just annouce a few days ago - Throne of Skulls Carange in March.  This will be my first Throne of Skulls in two years, since the update was done from mid last year up until May this year.

I'm really looking forward going back down to Warhammer World.  As shown past few time, the updated Warhammer World is really cool & the display are all really cool with a lot hard work put into them.
Also Throne of Skulls for me is a really great event, bar one game I've enjoy ever other single game.  As said one my hardest fought games has been the Space Wolves one which saw both of us with a mere three models left on both side.

 

I'm looking forward to see what in store.  As July they started adding theme to the events, Throne of Skulls July was Steel Fury, with lot of cool rule toward tanks & lot of conversion suggestion to rep those on our models.  As always, I really like adding sub theme to my units.

 

I'm not quite sure what will be in my army list quite yet.  Waiting to see the pack & also hopeing Forge World release Siege Tyrant Terminators so I can get them converted up & use in a few events hopeful.

Blood born look great buddy. I really like the heavy Bolter with the drum also the axe from the age of Sigmar box is a nice touch. They look awesome next to the rhino.

Sorceror looks good also is that a 40mm base?

 

I think it 50mm for the display base, while the Alpha Legion model on a 32mm base.  It really cool & I'm looking forward to painting the model.

 

Quick Call of Chaos update.

 

Spent a hour & a bit painting the three new Battle Brother for my Bloodborn unit along with the Flesh Hound which will be following the Games Workshop painting guide over on youtube.

 

Bit on the Bloodborn I posted back when Khârn Eater of Worlds novel was release from Black Library.

 

 

The Bloodborn unit are pretty cool. 7 Battle Brother, had a black hand print on there armour to show they will fight to the death no matter what. Be a pretty cool Kill Team unit to convert up.

 

Few bits from page 88:

They were Bloodborn - warriors oath-sworn to a death mission.

 

They came for diffrent reasons: resentment, jealousy; a long harboured grudge; fatalism. Only their blood-pledge united them

 

With this squad been forum of diffrent squad united for diffrent reason.  I though it would be cool to theme two of the Battle Brother around the Destroyer units from the Hours Heresy & inspired by the art work in the first Forge World Horus Heresy book.  While the other new battle brother, I've made it that he new to the unit & still to gain the skull face plate like the rest of the unit.  There was one orignaly on the model but had to be remove due to mistake & I replace it useing one from my test painted World Eater who been posted on here before.

Great update there man, loving to see the progress on those guys, in particular the sorcerer. He looks ready to burn a few folks with his mind for sure.

Update

 

Just bought this lot from my local Warhammer store today, as well as enjoy the day & take part in the store birthday. 

 

I pick up the Tech Priest & Leman Russ.  I want to use the Tech Priest as my warlord model in my Dark Mechanicis force.  Also I've spotted in the Renegade list in Armour 13: Lost & the Damned, I'm able to upgrade models to be theme around Dark Mechanicus which will be cool to try out.
While the Leman Russ can easily be added to my Chaos Guard/Renegade force :D

Seen Archon up for advance order today & check out today White Dwarf.  He a really cool model & if I'm able to get the Daemonic sword, I may use this on Sorcerer Narik Gharrok.

So that both vows complete for Call of Chaos.  I was hoping to get some work done to the Vindicator, but lack of energy & DrWho is almost on TV.  So that will get done tomorrow as I need to add plasticard & the dragon bone to the Vindicator hull.

You know I love the Bloodborn as well. Where did you get the base you have the hound on?

The base came in the pack where you get 20x 32mm & a few of the 50mm base for £8.  This was the first pack I bought when I rebase the first 20 Iron Warriors for Rapid Fire.

 

Also - That the Vindicator you trade me getting built.  I just need to add a bit of green stuff to the model tomorrow lunch time.  If all goes to plan tomorrow, should hopeful have a update between tomorrow or Tuesday.  Getting the model ready for painting this week.

Update

I've just spent the past few hours converting up the Vindicator tank that I trade with Biohazard during the DWARF Winter War tournament.  I will be adding green stuff to the Vindicator during my lunch hour tomorrow so it all ready to get painted during my days off.  This will be join is Brother Vindicator I converted up back in 2012 & aim to try make a squad of these.  So I think I'll add the third Vindicator during the ETL event next year.

Jaws part where inspired by the Slamander conversion I posted up after been that the Warhammer 40,000 open day event down in Nottingham, Warhammer World.  They also need a bit of green stuff, but happy how they've turn out & just for the Forgefane unit I want to convert up during the Christmas holidays.

Then the Tech Priest from the Leman Russ box.  I built him while I was waiting on glue to dry on the Vindicator model during today.  He a really cool model & I'm looking forward painting him the following week.
Been a bit delayed with the Dark Mechanicus, so hopeful push forward in the next few weeks.
