Quick update

 

Just spent a little bit of time getting the trophies added to my new squad od Terminators.  I'm just waiting on some part's for there base to arrive & want to try get the unit all fully painted by the end of the week with Throne of Skulls March been really soon.

 

I've also got a Autocannon arm Terminator for Lord Narach unit to build up as well who will be model painted before the event.

 

I'm really looking forward to return to Throne of Skulls & Warhammer World.  Just get a few games during the weekend & just see a lot cool hobby.

Here how the Knight looking after getting the model varnish during the day & adding some Forge World weather powder.  I'm waiting until tomorrow see if I need to add another layer of weather powder.  Beyound that it just tidy/finish painting part of the Knight now.

Also got the transfer added on today.  I was hoping get that done yesterday but ended up with a headache due to I don't re-act well when it way to sunny/no shade.

I've added part from the Battle for Calth transfer sheet.  Just recently Midnight Runner suggested about running the Daemonkin codex for my unbound Chaos Knight force, pretty much just allow me to use the Forge World rules with my Mark of Khorne.

Just as always give me diffrent unit to try out in games & somthing I'm looking forward to trying.

 

I've recently been thinking of re-starting my Daemons army later this year which will be Khorne heavy, all thanks to the Bloodthister model & my last Daemon force was Khorne heavy with Bloodletter & Juggernaut.

So Daemons are somthing I'd like to collect later in the year.  Just need to get my Dark Mechanicus up to 1850pts & update my Space Wolves right now.

Update

 

With my holidays starting soon & Throne of Skulls March happing.  Just pushing forward to get everything ready for the event.

Here the Siege Breacher Terminators, with the rest of the squad shown further down.  The Terminator model are really cool & really great to build & paint.  Just wounder how the Siege Tyrant Terminators will look when Forge World release them?

Chaos Knight almost there.  It just getting the finial detail painted.  I'm going to try spend later today getting that done.  Then during my holidays, I'm going to have Monday set aside to tidy up my unbound Chaos Knight force for travel down to Nottingham.  He borrow the arm's from the first Chaos Knight w/Warshrine parts I done two year ago.  His combat arm will be painted later on this month for another event I'm thinking taken my Knights to.

The rest of the Siege Breacher Terminator.  Part for there base just arrive yesterday & got them quickly built up before a game I had later on.  The unbound Terminator army is really fun to use, it suprise how resiliant (sp?) they are.  Useing the new Tactical object cards.  Throne of Skulls will have there own set of Maelstorm cards for the event.

 

So I'm aim on getting these Terminators undercaoted later today & shade added.  Then spending tomorrow getting as much painting done as possible.  Then I've got Tuesday set aside during my holidays just get any tidy up done for them & the unit of Terminators I done for ETL last year/bought during the Warhammer World grand open in May.

The Autocannon Battle Brother who will be join Lord Narach unit of Terminator.  I might end up useing the MkII Iron Warrior helmet, the other chose was FW Khârn bare head or with Deathwatch been release tomorrow, possible use the Iron Hands bare head?  I'm not quite sure yet.

 

Also I didn't have a ammo box with the Autocannon.  Bu quick search in many bitz boxies, I mange to find a old Chaos autocannon ammo box.  It was part of a spure that came with Autocannon, Launcher & another weapon that has a Genestealer icon on it.  This was back earily 2nd ed when the spure was use for both Chaos & Genestealer cult.
It was really cool that it needed little to no work, just a quick file mold line off & it fit perfect onto the current Terminator Autocannon which you can see in the photo.

 

I'm just waiting on a bit order to arrive, which should hopeful be today.  Just get some last trophies added.  This Battle Brother will be the model I paint up before the event.  Somthing that been happen since Conflict Scotland 2002 when I painted up Sorcerer Krull.  Since them, I've always seem to be painting a model before travel down.  So he going get painted on Wed.

- Base:  I'm going to make a new base for my first Chaos Knight, the Warhsrine one.  Just I've got better idea & just make it bit cooler.

- Bloodletter Banner:  This is also going onto the same Knight just to help tie in with the rest of my Chaos Knights.  I've also got a Assault Cannon that'll replace the heavy stubber weapon as well just make the Knight look more fear.

- Tactical object cards:  I like Maelstorm & all mission, anything add onto to the game/mission always going be cool in my view.  I'm looking forward getting my own Maelstorm cards that are going be given during Throne of Skulls event.

 

Then the Assault Marines & SW upgrade going toward my Bloodclaw unit for my Space Wolves force.  You can see a army log kicking about for my Wolves on these forum.  Current just got them move over to 32mm base & now looking to use the Iron Wolves foramstion & need to get Blood Claws, as well as transport for my Long Fang units.

I'll try get the Terminators posted up later in the week, just down to personal life & as said there with Throne of Skulls it just get everything painted.  So been spending today painting up the breacher terminators, when I was also pick up the Deathwatch box game.

 

Also after talk to a few friends today, I'm going to keep the Iron Warrior MkII Helmet for this Autocannon model as end of the day it is cool.

Update

 

Throne of Skulls March is this weekend & I've been spending the past three days painting pretty solid to get everything complete.  With tomorrow aim on getting everything finish & ready to lay siege to terra - Warhammer World.

 

Here the Terminator w/Autocannon who will be part of Lord Narach unit of Terminator bodyguards & who I've been getting painted during today.  I just need to add transfer to the Mechanicus trophie & then get him varnish & add Blood for the Blood god along with finial parts to finish.

Always seem be case that I'm painting near to a event & this has been somthing that been on going since my first event - Conflict Scotland 2002.  When Sorcerer Krull was added to my force the day before my first every Games Workrhsop event back then.  Just bought the Sorcerer model as I though he was really cool.  Since then never seem right if your not painting right up until near a event.

Rest of the models I've been building & painting are going to have to wait until after Throne of Skulls.  Just quickly take the photos above while I had the Autocannon Terminator model there.

 

I'm really looking forward to returing to Throne of Skulls.  I really enjoy the event since the change over from the old UKGT heats & finials to the Throne of Skulls format in 2010.
Also since Warhammer World was update last year, I'm really looking forward spending time re-seeing the Chaos vs Ultramarine display.  This has help a lot since last year for a lot of ideas, from the Chaos Siege Knight, Raptors & few other models.  Also I'm now looking to re-start my Daemons (Khorne) in the near future.  So hoping to find out how the Bloodletter for this display where painted.

 

I've been thinking about starting a Daemon force for a while.  I sold off a lot of my first one.  Then I sort got put off Daemons when the current codex was release, this was just due to the very dull & boring Screamer Council army list that was kicking about.  Nothing to do with winning or lossing, just have no hype or will to game after that.  But now warp spider spam replace that for me.

 

But since then with the Bloodthister model been release last year, Daemonkin codex & now the new Wulfen book.  I really want to push forward & get Daemons back on the go & to join my ever growing Iron Warriors force :D

When the lone Melta arm Iron Warrior held out against a Imperial Knight by overwatch.  The knight failed it charge twice rolling double 1's, been 5 then 3 inch away?  This lone Iron Warrior making overwatch both times, take the Knight from 6 hull points to 1 before the game ended.

Update

 

During the weekend there, I took part in Throne of Skulls March: Carnage in Warhammer World.  It was a really great weekend, with great games, seen really cool armies, seen really cool display again & buying new models.

 

For Throne of Skulls I chose to take down two unbound armies with me.

 

- Terminators:  This has been a force I've been planning for a while to use in a Throne of Skulls.  When I saw March, I knew right away I'd use this as my deadline to get my Terminator force complete.  This saw me getting the Siege Breacher theme unit painted during past few days before attending the event.

 

- Knights:  I'd just bought my fifth Chaos Knight & though I'd take a unbound Chaos Knight force with me as well.  This also give me a deadline to complete the new model.  Also I really enjoy building & painting the Knights, there some of the best models & the video by Games Workshop on youtube really inspring (sp?)

 

Overall, it was remind me of Storm of Iron.  In fact when the Knight was annouce (already said in the update back then) I was just reading the Titan battle scene in the Storm of Iron novel.

 

So here the Knight I was painting during the second finial week before Throne of Skulls.  He was finish on Monday?  Just I wanted to try keep all the finish models as a suprise when going to the event.  I also spent Monday adding the Forge World soot weather powder onto the engines to help further add that theme as been part of the Iron Warriors Legion.

- Bloodletter:  I'm wanting to start my Daemons again.  I'm also going to use a few unit of Bloodletter for summon when I try out my Chaos Knights with the Daemonkin codex, thanks Midnight runner for that idea & will be really cool theme/background.

I'm going to use the Chaos vs Ultramarine display for idea for painting the Bloodletter.  But yes, keep a eye out for Daemons in the future.

 

- Kytan:  Since seen the model during last year Warhammer World re-grand open been preview & on the Chaos vs Ultramarine display.  I've been wanting to add the Kytan to my force.  But I've had a lot of other hobby to get done or money needd for other things.
Since Warhammer World has a brand new Forge World store & with the model been in stock, I though it would be time to add the model sooner than later.

 

For Throne of Skulls

 

I had a lot of great games.  I got a grudge match against my friend Rich & his Tau, dispite going to Throne of Skulls event for past while we've never really gotten a game until Saturday.  Really fun game & Rich shown me that Tau are just as good in combat as they are as a gun line force that there normal know for.

 

Then grudge match against Dave & his Mechanicus.  I battle against Dave during Throne of Skulls Sept, against his Imperial Fist force & there was a lot of epic moment, real fun game.  So we've got our grudge game sorted for a re-match.  Talking during the event, we've planned to try link any future games together to try forge a background & theme which will be pretty cool.  The Mechanicus trophies I have on my Iron Warriors force will be theme on Dave force.

 

This is why I like attending event - Getting great games & seen cool armies.  Throne of Skulls is how I enjoy the gaming side of the hobby/event wise.  While I'm not all to keen on ETC or more hardcore events, other like it & I have no issue, end of the day it all about find what you enjoy in the hobby.

 

My Iron Warriors where also up for Army Nominee, along with both really cool Chaos Marine force (see below) & Space Marine force which won the Best army award in the end.  It was really tough, as there where another 8 or 9 armies on the list, but only three armies where going onto display due to space. 

They where all really cool & again, I like going to Throne of Skulls events to see other people armies, it great seen fully painted armies that a event.  There a lot of really great ideas & while I may not collect say - Tau, there idea there I can use on a current force.

Everyone who attended Throne of Skulls March got maelstorm cards just for this event.  There really fun & reward aggressive play style :D  I'm looking forward to trying these cards out in future games against my friends.

Then the Chaos vs Ultramarine display.  This is my favrout, I always enjoy seen this display when going to Warhammer World since they where all brought in last year during the update.  Ever time I've went to see the display there always somthing I've never notice before.  As always it great to check out for idea's.  As said I'm currently adding Bloodletter to my Iron Warriors.  Same with the Kytan.

Yes the Age of Sigmar Chaos shield are really, really cool.  Same if your able to get some of the weapons & head from the kit for few Chaos Marine conversion.

Just with the Terminators, I was hope for Siege Tyrant terminator be release from Forge World from the Horus Heresy weekender.  But nothing was shown.  So this was plan B & those shield where going to be use for ether once.  I'm happy I got it done for Throne of Skulls & nice way help sub theme the unit, help building up my Siege breacher strike force.

 

I'm spending today recovering & just sort everything out right now.  But once I'm ok, I'll be getting the Kytan & Bloodletter built soon,

 

Yes it really great, there where a lot of other really great armies.  From two Nids - green & a blue/white - Dave who army the blue/white belong to, give me a Genestealer trophy two year ago which you can see on my Biker unit update, there was a cool Tau force with light up object marker?  Just to name a few.  As said this is one of the many reason why I like attending Throne of Skulls & getting idea from them.  Also it though lot great games led to the history of my army, all those Mechanicus trophy added are base on Dave army, same with the Imperial Fist from our last game for example.

 

I'm wanting to try get one more Chaos Knight added to my force in the future & have it a bit more demonic looking with the idea Midnight runner give me in regard to Daemonkin supplement & Bloodletter summon units.

Not sure the point, it been somthing I've ment to do is write down all unit and gear with point cost, champion and unit names.

 

But check Nov last year update. There over 300 models. Since then the terminator, knight, kytan and 20 bloodletter. Just bought another box a few moment ago.

 

Little problem with Kytan. Seem he has two left leg parts. But I phone FW yesterday and replacment should arrive soon.

The army pics look awesome mate. The Knights really fit tie in well with your IW scheme. Good effort on the nominations as well. I saw that lava Kytan on FB and it's a cracking model too. Good to hear FW are sorting you out with your own though.

Great slew of updates IP, I love the new Termies, the epitomise your army very well; as ever nice selection of Trophies on them! Begs the question, will you be adding more after ToS? They look far removed from their Justeraen base, well done :)

 

I enjoyed reading your post about it too, I love it there and would love to go back hopefully year end. Massive kudos on doing so well and all the recognition on our awesome army! Or, with the Knights, armies :D

Bio - Thanks, yes as always I'm really happy with the nominee.  Just I really like seen really cool armies & going to event like Throne of Skulls see so a lot.  From Dave & his friend Nids & another of Dave friend who use Tau this time, in past using Chaos Marines & Dark Eldar.  Just to name a few.

Yes I've been watching Alex lava theme Chaos Marines on facebook as well.  Was gutted I never got to talk to him about the Chaos army until near the end of the event & spotted the army just before round 4 started on Sunday after getting breakfast that bugman bar.

 

I like to think that the Knight as much a part of the Iron Warriors Legion, as Titan are.  I think I will try get one or two more Knight model so I can use another Battle Cannon version for example & just try get different conversion/theme.

 

Hydra - Yes, as said in PM, try get to Warhammer World when time permit.  It really cool & there a lot there.  I really like seen the display.  As said I've seen the Chaos vs Ultramarine display a lot now & ever time there something different.  In fact I only just notice the Bloodcrusher who charge into a Ultramarine on the bridge, I think I've posted a photo of that.

 

Yes ended up with the helmet in the end as it seem to fit the model after talking with a few friends.

 

Midnight Runner - Thanks.  They are cool the Justeraen Terminator & easy to remove the Eye of Horus Icon & replace it with another using one of the Legion shoulder pads.

Trophie wise - Mechanicus once I painted tie in with Dave Mechanicus force I fought in the last round.  I'll also need to try add more Tau trophies, with the cooler new kits that got release last year.  I did have a Tau helmet from the new Lord of War model kicking about but it may ended up going missing.  I'll need to try find it & keep it to one side.

 

Yes I've just built 20 Bloodletter a few moment ago.  I'm just wanting to think how I want to do the base.  It'll still tie in with the rest of my army, but maybe use some Cork, try base from a Sigmar model I saw on facebook a little while back.
Thanks again for that idea.  My friend collect the Orks want to game against the Knight + Kytan with Daemon support.  They like the idea & remind them of bit background in the 5th ed Ork codex.

 

Also just trying work out how I want to paint them.  Sort want to ether go mix with the Chaos vs Ultramarine display & then also using the painting guide on the flesh hound from Age of Sigmar box game that Games Workshop have on youtube, where they use a bit of grey/brown colour.  Or just stick with all red, again like Chaos vs Ultramarine display from Warhammer World.

 

I'm hoping to get back around Sept/Oct time for Throne of Skulls.  Also say it worth picking up the sound track that on sale base on the display.  Each song 15 min long with four in total.  It just £10.  But it really nice as I found the sound track for the Chaos vs Ultramarine added to the display, same with the light when you see Red you think Chaos are winning, Blue Ultramarine are pulling the battle back.

Still can't belive it was just a week ago that I was down in Nottingham for Throne of Skulls.  Time just seem to fly by really fast & still great & needed weekend of hobby.

I've recently been spending today getting the first Knight in my Iron Warriors force updated.  I bought the model when it was first release & took idea of useing Warshrine part after seen the orignaly conversion on facebook as the manger of my local store shown me after talk though few idea conversion.

 

Just wanted to get the Knight updated a little to fit & tie in with the look & theme of my other four Chaos Knights.  Useing Bloodletter banner as a loin cloth & also use of transfer since last year.  Also the Assault Cannon to rep the heavy stubber.

I just need to add some Forge World weather powder when time permit during tomorrow & just get the last few parts painted so he ready to join back in the ranks.

Then during Thursday night, spent a few hour building 20 Bloodletter.  I'm aim on getting a new Daemon force on the go later in this year, once I've got my Dark Mechanicus force to 1850pts.

Just right now I'm going to use these Bloodletter as part of my unbound Chaos Knight force, with them having Mark of Khorne - Midnight runner suggested I use the Daemonkin codex, allow me to use these cool models in my army.

 

I'm hoping to get the base done tomorrow & getting a few of them ready for painting next week.

Then as said there, when I got home I notice my Kytan model had two left legs on Tuesday.  Still no post yet, but hoping it arrive soon.  So for the time I'm working out pose for my Kytan & just working out overall look.

Update

First all, sorry in advance.  The photos where taken pretty quick, as I'd just gotten home around 8pm & had a lot to get done :(

 

I've been spending today painting up the Bloodletter & to get a idea how I want the models to look.  There still a lot to get painted.

So here first one I was painting a little bit during yesterday & while waiting on shade & glaze to dry, as well as the Abaddon Black that was very water down painted onto the base/cover the Mephiston red spray.

I've just got to paint the yellow dots/bump & then apply shade of sepia heavy mix with medium & then same with brown shade heavy mix with medium.  It just the highlight stage that take a little bit time (three diffrent orange) & then the shades from brown shade & then Bloodletter glaze mix with medium.

I mange to find parts (box bought a while back) to build a further four Bloodletter.  This has now allow me to get three units of 8 Bloodletter for summon them or general useing codex Daemonkin & the Bloodoath (Warhammer World book) formastion.

I'm taken Easter Sunday off this week & aim it to be my own hobby day.  I've got a unit Blood Claws to get built & will also spend time painting the Bloodletter that I've spent today painting or that least get the one that more advance finish to get a rough idea how I want them all to look.

I'm also going to possible look into collect Daemonkin force in the future, possible Call of Chaos :D

Yes the Bloodletter are on 32mm base.  They've help a lot, beside more room & looking cool.  I've found them really help balance the Bloodletter models.

 

Kytan - I'm still waiting on the right leg to arrive.  Once that arrive I'll work out all those finial parts like the base & how I want to pose the Kytan model.  I'm hoping it arrive tomorrow.

ok, so now I say my 'a-hole' thing... 

while it's striking why would the hazard stripes be on their faceplates? 
Being a fluff bunny, isn't the point of the hazard stripes to attract enemy fire to the points that are the most heavily armored like their shoulders and gauntlets? 

Again, I could be wrong, as I'm not a IW expert in anyway

Don't worry.  Just point out (not mean anything bad) with the hazard stripes

• Main thing is, I think there cool.  With Iron Warriors been a dark colour force, this is great contrast colour, when people look that the army it draw there attesion in.  You've notice it there
• I'm not the only Iron Warrior hobbiest who done this.   A few exsamples would be Migsula who use to post on these forum done a small amount on his own really cool Iron Warriors force.  Dantioch been doing a half hazard stripe idea over on his really cool Horus Heresy force both past & current

  I've put them mainly on the face plate, close combat weapons & loin cloth just help with contrast colour.  Same with blue been my spot colour help try draw that focuse when people are looking that the army.
