Sounds like a great weekend for sure. Well done on the awards, sure there was some good competition there and all.

 

I am planning to visit there the weekend after next and all, finally get my Thousand Sons on the table.

Photobucket still acting funny right now when trying upload photos or even trying copy & paste these links.  But here some of the games fought during Throne of Skulls weekend there.  All five games where really great & fun.  All brought fresh life into the gaming side of the hobby for me** & pretty much want to try get more games on the go. 

 

**Pretty much I'm just getting tired of say Eldar Warp Spider spam army list & Daemon Screamer Council, those type of list.  I just find them really dull & boring, how they seem to be over taken a lot of events.  Pretty much I flat out refuse to game against them just because I don't find them fun.  But thankful Throne of Skulls is not like that, Throne of Skulls see wide range of diffrent armies & units taken because people just want to spend the weekend of gaming.  As Throne of Skulls Sept shown & as said has to be among the best event I've attended.

I'm really looking forward getting the new Traitor Hate book on Saturday with the new Khârn.

 

Right now I'm thinking

 

- Third Vindicator.  Possible aim on a squad for my gaming club tournament

- Add two more Predators, bring them into squads of 2x 3 Predators.  As I've already got two command Predators built.  I might use one of them for my gaming club as well.

 

I think the thing I'm looking forward to is the brand new background from the book.  Same with getting Khârn, try get him built as soon as he bought :D

Be honesty, while I do have sort core units.  I try change list about from event to event.  This is just more try different things out, give myself deadline to add different models.  End of the day doesn't matter win, loss or draw, main thing is having a fun game rather walk away having a great fun fought game, one I will rememeber & will add theme & history to my army.  It more the model & painting side I like, seen so many cool models that events & cool armies.  One reason Warhammer World event are really important & also why I like that we are able to bring a few different force.  So I went with unbound to give me deadline get the Maulerfiend & Possessed done & then battle forge with those core units that been to lot event & just change between them per round, ether rolling a dice or talk to my oppent before the game started.  As long as I get 2 games with each list.

 

As said, all five games where great.  From what I saw, seem everyone else attending Throne of Skulls always enjoyed all there games.

Update

 

So, still can't belive this time last week I was down that Nottingham for Warhammer World Throne of Skulls.  As said it was one of the best weekend I've had in a long time & one of the best events I've attended.  Ever time I go to Nottingham, I want to try get a lot more hobby done, with the display further added onto that.

 

Tomorrow see the release of Traitor Hate & Khârn.  Needless to say I'm really looking forward to this.  I got the limited ed version order for my birthday & I'm going to buy Khârn tomorrow & get him built.  I've got a few idea in mind on how I want to convert set parts.  While I'm still planning the base, so that may be done later as I've just bought some of the base part from the Assault Marine kits but if they don't get use, Cypher still need a new 32mm base made.

 

But here Khârn I saw that Warhammer World on the Monday on display.

Then the new models & units I'd taken as part of my unbound force for Throne of Skulls.  In all I've painted

- Warpsmith, 4 hour two week ago/Saturday.

- 5 Possessed + Rhino

- 2 Maulerfiend

That lot was painted in a total 48 hours, pretty much during all last week during first week of my holidays when getting ready for Throne of Skulls

With a few more days left of my holidays.  I was hoping to get a bit of hobby done.  So far I've mange to get 28 Bloodletter all on there base, they just need green stuff & plastic tubes & H beam added.  There going to be part of my vows for Call of Chaos in a few days time.
Also try to get a bit of painting on the Bloodcrusher.  There almost finish, just sword need finish.

Then getting some base done for the two Knight models.  Again might use some parts from the Assault Marine base part.

- Vindicator.  Going buy this tomorrow, would like to try the squad of them.

- 30 Bloodletters (3x squads of 10)

- Skullcannon

- Unit of Daemonkin Marines w/Rhino

- Renegade Knight

- Chaos Knight

 

Other wise going have a bit of a think.  But I think lot models I'd like to get done are most like going be kept for Christmas time when I have two & a half weeks off & get as much needed space as possible.

 

But yes, looking forward building Khârn & reading the new Traitor Hate book tomorrow.

He about the same size as the Forge World version, just lean over a bit more with the run.  It really cool, there lot match with the FW version & of course the classic 2nd ed.  He really fun model to build & I'm looking forward to painting Khârn.  Just wanting for Call of Chaos to start & he will be one of my vows.

Yes, was great game vs Tom & Adam from your group along with three other great games during Throne of Skulls & the 3000pt game I had against my friend on my birthday/that Warhammer World.

Quick update

 

Hopeful a clear photo of the brand new Plastic Khârn beside the Forge World version.  I might place a order for the classic 2nd ed era Khârn during the week so I've just got him there & part of the collection.  The new plastic Khârn will be part of my Call of Chaos vow later this week.

Vindicator from 2012 just before the current codex Chaos was release.  Just feel every Iron Warriors force need a Vindicator no matter if it just for display or use in games.

I've been spending the past few days reading the new Traitor Hate book.  So far I'm on the last chapter for the background.  While gaming wise - My Iron Warriors have a event soon.  One of the aim was to use somthing new from Traitor Hate, this case squad of Vindicator.  But from Saturday after getting my book, I wanted to use a formation or two.

End of the day is nice changing list about from event to event.  While I do have a core force, I like change stuff.  This keep things fun gaming wise & help add deadline for any new models & units.

Right now I think I've sorted a 1850pts list to try out.  It current follow the Warband & Obliterator formation.  Then ally in my Sorcerer with the Vindicator, just check with the people running the event & as said see how I enjoy the list.

 

With that, the Warband formation allow me to bring back Battle Brother Vosh for this event.  Forge World sadily not allowed, so he going to "count as" a Helbrute.

Also as part of the formation, allow me to use my Biker in there first event.  I've enjoyed useing the unit of Iron Warriors biker in a lot of game against my friends.

Spent a bit time this afternoon adding trophies to the third Vindicator. 

- Ork trophies base on the 3000pt game on my birthday I had two week ago

- Knights trophies are base on the Knight I fought during Throne of Skulls March 2014

- Mechanicus base on my friend force

 

I've just order some part to convert up a Dark Angel Marine trophy, for this one I'm also going to make him a Veteran of the Deathwatch as well.

Yes, ever single trophy you see though out the army base on a lot games my Iron Warriors have fought since 2001 up to now.  Form the Thousand Son's base on Matt from Throne of Skulls April 2012 only later re-battle that ToS October 2012 against his Word Bearer, to the more recent Ork from the 3000pt game.

 

​Just find it a cool way to theme your force, rememeber great games & wind up a few friends.  I know the Ultramarine 4th Company got one friend annoyed & always asking if there any new once.

​It also pretty cool as a few people got my IW's.  One my friends got a 13th Company Space Wolf with IW armour plate done & I've built a Lone Wolf for him.  My friend from the 3000pt Ork game adding trophies to a few his units.

 

I'm also going to look that starting a facebook page.  It will just be a hobby log & just allow a little bit more photos be shown like some event I go to like recent Throne of Skulls September two weeks ago.

This arrive yesterday.  I bought the art work on my birthday while I was that Warhammer World during the Throne of Skulls event/my birthday.

Just spent today painting the Vindicator tank.  It almost there.  I'm going to try spare some time tomorrow to add transfer from the FW Iron Warriors sheet.  Then try get some time on Friday add weather powder due to that take a bit of time.

Knight trophies - There base on my games during Throne of Skulls March 2014 when I fought them for the first time.  So the blue one from Blood Angels & the red one from Space Wolves oppent.  Going add the Forge World soot weather powder onto them try get as much damage look to both these as possible.

After converting my Warpsmith for Throne of Skulls.  I was left with some part from the orignaly model & with the recent Traitor Hate book, it not like it going to matter how many I have as they are cool models.  So just seen what I can build from what was left of the Warpsmith kit along side the tech-priest & Mechanicus HQ model.

I've also got a Finecast Daemon Prince on order.  Just I've got a event in a few week time & unsure how many Daemon Prince I will need with the Warband formation.

 

I've then got the renegade upgrade set on order.  Just incase I might need to make more cultist as I'm unsure if my list is ok or not.  This is really the first time I'm useing formation & ally (so I can get the Vindicator squad).  So just want to have the models there just incase.  Even then allow me add cool models.

So if/when get around to the unit, they will be close combat.  Then my hope is, when ever Necromunda annouce - I'd like to try get Pit Slaves models, so if & when ever they happen to get release.  Just add them to this new unit of Cultist & I'm current convert up the tech-priest model I've had left over from conversion who will act as there Champion.

It from the Age of Sigmar Ogre Thundertusk model.  It shield part that has that & the other part I use on the other side of that same shoulder pad.

So I've been spend a bit time yesterday getting the weather powder & transfer applyed to the Vindicator.  While today was just getting the finial detail done.

 

I've really enjoy adding the third Vindicator to my Iron Warriors & I'd like to try a all out Armour Company unbound list along side my Predators.

Knight trophies, as said are base on the once I fought during Throne of Skulls March 2014.  When my Iron Warriors battle Blood Angels, seen the Knight fail it charge twice & a lone Iron Warrior with Melta making both overwatch taken 5 hull points of the Knight.

Then here they all are.  I'm still planning out my list for my gaming club event/tournament I'm going to in a few weeks.  One was possible have this lot as a squad, but another plan to possible make them all separate & go with the formation, along with the rest my army hat the moment.

With the event in a few week.  Few of us who are taken Chaos Marines with the new Traitor Hate book have been talking about Daemon Prince because of the Warband formation.  So far it been suggested it maybe best taken between 2-3 Daemon Prince models.

So right now I've got the finecast version of the 3.5 Daemon Prince, as said my all time favorite model.  Then the plastic version was bought today, this was inspired by the Daemon prince from the Chaos vs Ultramarine display from Warhammer World, lossing count amount time the display really help me out with ideas.

So somthing like that.  I'm also going to see if a Deflier mask will work with the Daemon Prince.  It the Skull mask, I was going to try cut part & try use the bottem part from that mask for the Daemon Prince.  Just a long time ago, the White Dwarf shown a conversion of a Iron Warrior Daemon Prince with a face-plate/mask but they done it by green stuff.  I will need to try look out that White Dwarf tomorrow to get some idea.

 

Also my Forge World order arrive today for the Cultist.  This was more as a back up incase my list wasn't legal for my gaming club event.  But even then they will get added & use the Renegade upgrade kit toward the Cultist from the Helbrute formation in the near future.

Good shout with the daemon princes as well. Those extra Boon rolls could mean more princes. I remember that white dwarf with the Iron Warriors DP with the mask. They gave it the whfb dragon wings as well I think?

As for the Defiler part it will definitely work on the Daemon Prince head. Especially the armoured 3.5 one.

Update

 

Just a quick update.  Over the past few days I've been getting my Iron Warriors ready for there next event in a week & a half time that my gaming club holding.  I'm going to use the new Traitor Hate book & just trying out thing like Formation that I've never use to much in the game, I think the only one I've only really use is the Deep Striking Helbrute one. 

 

With that.........here the Daemon prince I commented about in the last update.  I ended up useing both finecast & plastic Daemon Prince models with this conversion.  Just there part on the plastic version I'm not all to keen on & part from the finecast that made it easier to convert the Daemon Prince.

Then today painting.  There still a lot to paint & I need to tr add soot weather powder to the weapon.  Conversion done just for somthing diffrent & like the version Warhammer World done for the big Chaos vs Ultramarine display.

I also got the left over parts from the Warpsmith, Mechanicus HQ & tech-priest from the Warpsmith I converted for Throne of Skulls together to build another warpsmith, with a few formation needing a fair few of them.

He has been painted here & there while waiting on shade to dry on the Daemon Prince model.

Here the finish Vindicator, all ready for battle.  Really happy how the model turn out & somthing I was planning on adding to my Iron Warriors during this year.  But was maybe best I waited, just things like the Knight mask wouldn't have happen.

As said my gaming club event next week.  Right now a few Chaos player are talking about how many Daemon Prince will we most like need.  As well as talking about having a bet on to see who can get the most Daemon Prince during the weekend of gaming.

 

So wanting each one diffrent.  I've pick up the Dreadknight & Soul Grinder, inspired by a Iron Warriors conversion I saw that the Warhamme World 40k open day last year (see below).  Want to try somthing like that & idea from the Nurgle Daemon prince seen in the White Dwarf a few months ago.  Also other image to try help get that finial idea.  I'm wanting to try start building the model on Friday just to get a rough idea & so it ready for painting next week,
