Sorry to ask but did you use the DV Champion legs for him?

 

Yes it the Champion legs from Dark Vengeance cut up & added to the top half of the Space Marine legs.  Same with my Warpsmith I done last year Call of Chaos.  Just need to add green stuff around the leg area.

 

BrotherCaptainArkhan:  I've found Throne of Skulls to be really great.  I've enjoy all the once I been to.  The Warhammer World event team have put a lot of hard work into there events & the amount we see each year.

I've only had one unenjoyable game out of the four year I been going, that 5 games per ToS & I go to two a year, possible a extra one like ToS Nov 2012 or July 2011 ether due to friends going or July one due to family live out side Nottingham.  So your looking 50 games so far?  The unenjoyably game, I'll not go into the whole reason other than they where very negativity, all that needed to be know is - they wanted out rank there friend.  But to be fair I had worst games.

 

But as said in the other topic - The game vs Space Wolves ToS Nov been top just because how close & hard fought it was.  But as said all my games (part from one said above there) have been good.  I met a lot of great people I still keep in contact to this day or met up with them that Warhammer World that different ToS event.

Also it in Warhammer World, for me this is another home, I find it really great to get games in.

 

I am gutted that there been no event over the past while due to work that Warhammer World.  But I am looking forward to the changes that are taken place & most all I'm looking forward being back down.

I'll also possible look that a Kill Team event & a Forge World/GW Army painter masterclass event.  That one event I do regreat not going to is the FW masterclass on Vindicator which focuses on battle damage & weather powder.  I know my friend got me the IW t-shirt attend these event ever time & really enjoy them.  As said a lot hard work put into the event & it clear to see that.

 

I'm just unsure what I will do army list wise.  I want to change it a little bit, but same time ever unit I got in my army I like.  That way Rapid Fire I was going to take my Havocs w/Rhino & Warpsmith.  But ended dropping them from the list last moment.  Just a friend point out my Terminators & Lord Narach give me that Ap2 punch with the Combi Plasma & being able to deep strike allowed me to counter a few thing & where I needed there help. 

 

I recommend going to any Warhammer World event your able to go to.  There a wide range as everyone got something different in the hobby they enjoy & what make it fun for them.

Normally, I don't care for the Iron Warriors paint scheme, but all your stuff is stunning, IP. From the conversion on the models themselves to the bases to the weathering on the vehicles. Just real, real good stuff. And those tabletop battle scenes look epic!

I mange to spend last Saturday getting Lheor Ukris painted. He just been varnish yesterday & now it just to add Blood for the Blood God, along with a few other bit of detail & area to finish painting. I've also added on the Chainaxe to the backpack & just need to paint the barb-wire that holding it.

I've also painted - 15th to mark out his company from Talons of Horus which had him as 15th Fang Warband.

 

I've enjoy converting & painting Lheor Ukris. I might get the rest - Telemachon from the III Legion & Khayon of the Thasound Sons Legion converted & painted in the future.

I've added Blood for the Blood god to the tanks. Just it help break up the model a bit & in my view - it a battle field, the tanks are going to run over those in there way or shot those with the side weapon who may get to close?

Just got a few part left to paint on the Leman Russ before there complete, following the guide from the Forge World model masterclass book vol:1

 

Also a while back when I was orignaly going to try push forward with the Chaos Guard force. I had a Demolisher tank that got a bit broken & part missing after moving house last year. I've mange to find the track guards & sort them out & replace the hull weapon with a spare from one of the two tanks just shown there.

Just return from DWARF wargaming club event - Winter War. This is a single day tournament for both Warhammer Fantasy & Warhammer 40,000. The tournament started a few year ago & is for charity - Help for Hero's.
Since last year, brought in the Warhammer 40,000 side of thing after Fire Storm another event which DWARF run along with Forgotten Hero's for Warhammer Fantasy.

 

My Iron Warriors took part that 1500pts I went with my Throne of Skulls list...............

It was a really great day. As always I'm really happy with the best army award. This year would also see Warhammer player vote for 40k side of the event & for us on the Warhammer Fantasy side. With a best army & runner up for both side - Warhammer 40,000 & Warhammer Fantasy. Just a I'd been told a lot of people commented about my army, how they've seen them that other events or from the White Dwarf & talk about some part of the armies like the trophies which sound really cool from what I was told.

 

Chaos side - I won two out of three games. I loss to my friend Eldar army with three writhknight. I really enjoy the game, if anything I just want to see how much damage I can do to there Eldar army in the game before my army wipe out. It a good challenge.
Lord Narach really show why he where he is today in my Chaos army.

Just two turns, he was the last man standing. For two turn he made inv save vs all three Wirthknight shooting with (1 turn) Eldar flyer shooting. It only on the second round I failed a Inv save from the Eldar flyer, but still 9 Inv save, fail one armour save get It will not die (Warlord trait)

Then I fought Grey Knights & Guard with a Knight ally. I was very lucky vs the Guard, as a lone Iron Warriors with Icon held on that all cost for the relic, very lucky for the game to have ended on turn 5.

 

I think I ended 5th overall from what one my friends told me.

 

The Demolisher Leman Russ - One of my friends won this in the raffle during the tournament. But there a Warhammer Fantasy player & just give it to me to help toward my Chaos Guard army I've recently started showing. Needless to say that help out, mean I just got 3 Leman Russ to get now for my army.

Great one day tournament & a good way to end the year with no other event line up for the Iron Warriors. Three brillaint games. Each unit show why there sort main once in my army just with the history that get added to them thanks to the great games.
Lord Narach doing well from the Inv save vs Eldar. Or in the other games, any time he got into combat kept rolling 6's for the Axe of Blind Fury, slaughter all before him.

 

- I just got the part for re-do part of the maulerfiend. That should get done tomorrow some point, re-building the face area a little.  Maulerfiend for my Call of Chaos.

- I also got my Biker I'll start building.  Since the last update, I bought a box of Ravenwing Biker on Wed to help bring the unit up to full unit of 10 Biker, part this just look cool & other part just hopeful help in games as they often get taken out way to fast, with the rest of my army being Mech heavy.

- Finial going to make a start on my new Sorcerer after Rapid Fire.

Update

 

As said a few update ago. I was not to keen on how the Maulerfiend conversion turn out, but it was that way your unsure until painting had started. I put the model to one side & talk to few friends get idea & for one of my friends to give me a few more Dark Eldar bits from the Talos model.

After building the Sorcerer yesterday & spare green stuff, instead of having it go to weaste, I though I'd get the Maulerfiend converted up. Thanks to B&C memeber Vlâdvar The Destroyer for help when talk on facebook about maulerfiend conversion.

Just as said before though out this army log. I want each unit to be a bit diffrent, to show there history. For me conversion a better way for me to get the story & theme from my head out onto the models. Just writing background is a difficult thing for me, to try get what in my head, out onto the paper. I have semantic pragmatic disorder, a fourm of autism, asperger & difficult with reading & writing. But it has help me a lot when it came to building from high school, Games Workshop hobby & for my NQ to HND model making course.
So converting allow me to tell the story of my army though the models & there history.

I like add a theme & history to each model. So they can tell the story of my army. I'm going to aim have somthing diffrent with each Daemonic tank.

Way I see it is, the Maulerfiend will eat defence work during seige & trench warfare to help recover from any wounds or Forgfiend would eat ammo.

 

I should hopeful get the Maulerfiend model finish by the end of this week.

 

Sorcerer - I've still to get a name sorted for him.

Familiar to the right. This will just be a marker to remind me I've got one in the army list. Part this is because I've already got Servo Skulls models onto the base on a few of my Iron Warriors models. So I'd most like forget I had a familier for my Sorcerer, since I've not really use them in game yet.
This was orignaly meant to be a marker for my Warlord trait, somthing I wanted to do last year. But ended up useing bits for other conversion with some of the marker. The one use here, I though be good to tie in with the army & it a easy way to remind me about the model so it does not get left behind. Still suprise I never loss my Chooser of Slain for my Rune Priest in my Space Wolves army.

Thanks to Daemon2027 for the Raven Guard Captain head. It really help & just help show that sort of strength he got. I'm really looking forward to converting the Sorcerer this week & most all just happy to get the model converted. Since my oppent told me that Rapid Fire about useing a Sorcerer with Lord Narach & his unit of Terminator bodyguards. The idea been there for a few weeks now. I spent yesterday late afternoon converting up the model. Also just how the left arm turn out with the Bolter attach & still allow him to cast psychic power.

 

Now it just the painting side. I want to get a glow effect to show he casting power from the warp.

 

Trophies - Black Legion will be base on my friend Ian army I commented about a few post back. Eldar might be Alatoic base on my friend & old riviel army or maybe his new current Eldar force?

Nid will be base on my friend who got best army that Rapid Fire two week ago.

Space Marines not sure. One of them I'd possible paint as Imperial Fist. The other might be Novamarine or Black Templar or Blood Angels? There also White Scars? Guess depend near the time once the other trophies are painted just for contrast.

 

Going to get the new Sorcerer painted & ready for a game I've got very soon. Really looking forward on useing the Sorcerer in this game.

 

I'm starting to gather bit to start on my Chosen.  Just got some armour loin cloth order & a few ork friends will be donate some toward the unit.  I've also got two Biker I need to convert up to bring my current unit to 10 models.  Possible during very near future convert the third Biker into a HQ chose to go with the unit?

Bugman Bar glow, brown wash*, purple wash*, Cadain flesh dry brush, then elf flesh dry brush.  I use this for standard model as well.  But instead of dry brush paint them on as layer & highlight with Kraken Stone?, add brown wash mix with medium.

 

*Even though the current paints have been out for a good few year.  Still trying to get use to the name changies. 

 

Bugman Bar glow a really good colour.  It because of the first Maulerfiend two year back that led to me buy the paint & trying this out.

 

Thanks for the comment.  I'm really happy how the Sorcerer conversion turn out.  Just it been in my head for two week & spent Sunday later afternoon converting the model, just all click together.  Going to get him painted for a game I've got soon against Orks, just not keen on useing unpainted models personal in games.

It was great, as my oppent with the Novemarine got to see the new Sorcerer today & first thing they spoted was the trophie of there Chapter :D

I found re-building the head part look a lot better & just look cooler than when I orignaly posted the model a while back.

 

Next up - Chosen. Already got a few parts. So ether going to convert them tomorrow or two new Biker if I need them for my game on Thursday. Still work out point & general see what bits I've got for my Chosen. As said there going to be my Kill team unit. Want to try get the Chosen built & ready for Christmas for a few games.

Dang that mauler fiend is looking amazing. The sorcerer is great too, one thing I dislike though is using the basic grey knight sword. So many other great chaotic/evil looking swords why go for one so basic? Just my thoughts mate.

I was orignaly going to use Abaddon sword when I place the order - Little bit warp* that it would break, dosn't have that blade edge so just image wise & talk to friends when shown them the conversion during the week - though it might been a bit to much. 

One though was to try get the face/daemonic look from Abaddon sword over onto this one, but I really don't have much green stuff ability beyound useing it for my base, Obliterators & gaps.  I'd really like to learn how to sculpt, but it just trying to find someone who can help out

 

While Warrior of Chaos range - Got a lot of friends who collect Warrior of Chaos, but a lot of them bin left over parts with out-rage me to no end.

 

But same time this can add to his history as a weapon he had since the Great Crusade, when he was a Librarian.  A weapon that seen him though the Heresy & still serive him well to this day   But it can get replace in the future, say if a plastic Abaddon release or Mephiston or Archaon the everchosen with Warhammer focuse on the End of Times & this can always add onto his story & theme   Bit like, what we see in the Night Lord novels on Talons.

 

*Note:  I don't have a problem toward finecast as other might.  I like useing finecast, for a converting point of view it made life easyer & not everything going all plastic it even better.  Was never to keen on converting useing metal models unless it somthing like my Warsmith Abahorred model.

I've only had a small % of finecast models that bit need more work needed to be done or that not useable but GW customer serivce has always been great & helpful when deal with this.  So I general find working with finecast & plastic better when it come to converting models, like the Sorcerer there

First think my friend spoted was the Novamarine trophie base on his army yesterday.  Then Black Legion on my friend Ian, just ever tournament we went to would pretty much see my Iron Warriors vs his Black Legion, ended up being a running joke on what round we'd get a game.

As said all trophies are base on armies I've fought over the 12+ years now.

I've just got a few things left to add onto the two new Battle Brother & hopeful get them base tonight & ready for undercoating tomorrow.  I've still got my Champion, I'm going to wait until I've seen the Hobbit Battle of the Five armies movie for idea.  The Rhino transport will be getting converted between the 18th & 19th, when I start my Christmas holidays for two & a half weeks.

 

Then unit of Chosen are for Kill team games.  It going to be a unit in the future that I will add a few other Battle Brother to there ranks given me diffrent type wargear & most all just convert some cool new models from diffrent close combat weapons & range weapon to just standard wargear. 

So them, my Iron Havocs & Raptors are units I'm going to go back to in the future to add a few extra models to there squads.

- Chaos Marines, already useing toward Chosen.

- Terminators, going toward my Obliterator conversion

- Chaos Champion, I was unsure if Sevatar would be release in time & useing this as my back up chose for my Power Armour Lord conersion.

 

As said there I've been pretty busy past few weeks & just got this week to go.  But as soon as my holiday start.  I've already got the 18th & 19th set aside to get as much built as possible.  I'm just looking forward to having the holiday to be honsty   I just need to order Bile backpack for the Obliterators.  I might also pick up the new Blood Angels kit for bits toward conversion like the Heavy Flamer & also to use some part toward trophies for the new Rhino.

 

I've just got a Forge World order to place.  I'm just waiting to see what my money like tomorrow - just with Christmas, two gigs & hobbit movie it going to hit my hobby funds   But I want to get the Death Guard heresy body for my HQ chose, Tech Priest for servo arm, model it self be use as Champion for my Cultist?

But it all getting there.  Pretty much my Christmas holidays be about Call of Chaos & play stastion (sp?).  My unit of Terminators will be here for Christmas

Order arrive last Monday.  It part of a on going hobby challenge that been happen over the past year.  This is to make Iron Havocs & Siege Breaker?

I've finial brought my unit of Iron Warriors biker to ten model strong.  I've also had a few games with them before bring my Ravenwing army (Mk2) out for a few games & get use to them gaming wise.

First game against my friend Salamander army, they surivie to the end of the game which was great.  Usely there gone by turn 2, as my oppent put it, there not in tanks & there not having 2+ armour save. 
Then another game against Necrons which sadly saw them gone by turn 2.

 

I've really like building this unit since April this year & adding onto the unit.

Any free time I've had over the past few days has went toward the Chaos Guards.  Next week should see the models varnish & forge world weather powder added onto them, then it just finial detail to add which will get painted during the Christmas holidays.

 

Finial I also pick up the Venrable Dreadnought kit & the plastic Helbrute kit a few weeks back.  I'm looking into adding a Mayhem pack to my Iron Warriors force.  I though be cool, just image of a strike force with them, Lord Narach & his Terminators bodyguard deep strike & take out important bunker or where they are needed during a siege.
Right now I'll be converting two of them with Multi Melta.  The second one, I'm wanting to try convert somthing like Warsmith Berossus in Dead Sky Black Sun as a leader type for this pack

Hopeful get the first Helbrute converted up & ready to paint for the 24th Decemeber along with the Obliterator for Call of Chaos.

It just converting the main part of the hobby I enjoy & Chaos Marines are one of the most convertible armies   Not just that but as said else where, I have semantic pragmatic disorder, which is a forum of autism (not to sever), Asperger & forum of dyslexia.  So written say background not all that easy, while it in my head, trying to get that out onto paper different.

 

However model & general build side is where it all that for me.  As said conversion been a big part of the hobby for 18 year now & allow me to tell the story of my army though the models.

Also going to a model making course in 2005-2008, NQ to HND in Glasgow or any work experience the model making company point out way my mind work & see how model would look plans they had.

 

Also I just always like watch all the stuff Weta workshop does for Hobbit & LotR, all design for the armies, armour & weapons, as well as thing like how Helm Deep was going to look, etc....

 

Just if it a army I enjoy, so Iron Warriors, Space Wolves & Ravenwing.  I'll go out to make them look cool.  Always going for the armies & models I like & can convert.

 

Yes I'm looking forward to trying convert a sort of inspired Berossus helbrute.  It will be some time.  Right now to get the first Helbrute converted.  But this is something I want to get soon.  So be spend Christmas time plan this out while converting the Helbrute I need for the Mayhem pack.  Also been re-reading Dead Sky Black Sun right now.

Update

 

It been a busy past few days for myself & Monday there was last day of the year before I started my holidays. It never been more difficult, but it gotten there in the end. Just Friday I went to see the brand new Hobbit movie & have a lot of idea, lot cool things. Then Saturday & Sunday, going to two gigs during the weekend for - Machine Head on Saturday & then Heaven Shall Burn & Parkway Drive on Sunday. My ribs & right leg been in pain though out the past 48 hours, but a really great weekend. Just Monday seen me suffer.

 

Two & a half weeks. Part this is just get my own space & get hobby. Another part will be toward the play stastion & assassin's creed unity. Other part will be seen family during the holidays.

 

First up, just needed to get my painting station & desk area all tidy up on Monday. Just to get space & to make room on my desk to set aside all the models I'm going to be painting during the holidays.

Just got the Rhino built yesterday & spend today cutting out the plasticard armour plate. During the weekend & part of Monday, I should hopeful have the armour plate all finish, glue & also have the crew memeber converted. Aim to have the Rhino ready for undercaoting & little bit of paint on Tuesday.

I added the Dozer blade after find a Guard tank spure & it cool. Just wanted to add one to show the unit of Chosen rank? with in my warband & there task when it siege/trench.

 

Next up the Champion for my Kill team, trying get a little bit of a Azog look with the mace weapon & also art work from the Bloodquest comic book I shown while back

Semper give me the ok to re-use the model (body/leg) from a old IW model I converted a while back - They where meant for this Kill team when I was planning the unit last year. But time & other stuff came up & mean the Kill team unit would not start until now. But this model was take apart & I've use some of the parts else where, the head is now on one of the new Biker for exsample. But same time did not want the rest of the model to go to waste.

I've just to add green stuff, like the Warpsmith Helbrute I converted up earily in the year. I want this Dreadnought to show sign of the Obliterator virus. Aim to have the helbrute ready for painting for the 24th.

Almost there. Just need to see what tomorrow like & try pick up the last few boxies & order the Warpsmith model for the conversion.

Dammit IP I have a like limit! Seriously great work on your models and I love seeing them when you post updates. 

Your army is a true inspiration and really captures the savagery of the Iron Warriors. Love the work you put into each model, both in modelling and fluff. I've been spend yesterday afternoon & best part of today trying to get current models for Call of Chaos built & ready for undercaoting. Also painted a bit of the Helbrute just help get the metallic armour, longest stage of painting a IW model for me with the shade.

The Warpsmith conversion was inspired by a older conversion I done many year ago for Lord Narach, before he was arm with the Dark Blade (Axe) from the 3.5 codex. When he was arm with a Kai Gun, after a Terminators version of Narach for Conflict Scotland 2005 so I had those chose for events like Conflict & when I started going down to Nottingham for event in Warhammer World. Orignaly idea was base around the Obliterator virus. But as said ended up give Narach diffrent wargear, as seen in the topic with photos of the 2006 era model - before being in Terminators armour with the current version of this Champion with in my grand company

I've just got a Dark Apostle left to convert & a Lord in Power armour, as well as the Battle Brother for the Rhino.

For the Chaos Lord in power armour I have struggle with idea.  But I think I will try convert a more up to date look/inspired by the classic Warsmith model release a good few years & also from seen this (found goggle from Dawn of War game?).  Right now I have one of the FW honour guard helmet, Dark Vengance Chaos Marine (power axe), finecast Servitor arm & spare metal Servo arm from a Warsmith model I bought a long time ago.

Still got the classic metal Warsmith model to paint.

Helbrute

 

The Helbrute was painted on Decemeber 24th.  Since then I've bought the boxies I will be useing to convert up the second Helbrute for my Mayhem pack.  Then in a few week time, I've got a free day which I'm wanting to spend building up the unit leader - While there not one offical, just though be cool theme & model wise.  So want to try convert a Dreadnought inspired by Berossus from Dead Sky Black Sun novel when I've got that day off in a few week time.

I was hoping a bitz order would arrive today. It was the Ork armour plate I use for my whole IW force. Just so I can get my Lord, Dark Apostle & Terminator Champion finish building wise. So hopeful arrive tomorrow.

Quick update

 

It wired how thing go - Just today, usely my day off I'm stuck in the house due to the weather, heavy snow during the night & only settle down.  What better way to spend it than to paint the last few models I need to complete my Call of Chaos vow   Just Lord, Dark Apostle & Rhino crew memeber.  I start painting them in a few min time.

So I'll watch season 4 of Game of Thrones that I've recorded while getting this lot painted.

I notice earily in the day (yesterday) I miss out painting the Genestealer trophie. Orignaly I was going to remove this & replace it with the Bloodletter trophie from the Grey Knight Terminators kit, but was not fitting. I ended up forgetting about this until after the photo was taken. It now been painted & the unit complete. I'll get new photo of the unit on Thursday. This is just allow me to see where my Call of Chaos vows are & let people see how everything look so far.

Wow. I like those Helbrute conversions. I feel they fit the IW a lot. I went with the straight kits for the CS just because they kind of embody the whole 'crazy' person stuck in a fridge look.

 

But these look really good. I can't believe how quickly you take an idea and finish it. I'm truly jealous of that.
