Cool beans IP, keep up the awesome work !

I really like the Forgefane unit. But I don't get why you chose that paint scheme for the tyranids trophy when Forgefane was overwhelmed by Leviathan.

 

Jaws will be base on Leviathan Nids, current nids show there skills/experience helping my own Iron Warriors Grand Company against my friend Nids army ;)

 

I'll be adding few Leviathan & the red with blue carapace shell (never sure of there name) fleet onto future models :D

 

Thanks - Little gutted though to find out the Kytan has two left knee parts.  But Forge World have that sorted & the Kytan should be getting built as soon as possible when that arrive.  Also got the Bloodletter started today & going to try painting a test model some point on Friday.

Update

 

Since last update I attended a single day event in Aberdeen, was really great, had some great games & saw great models.  I went with my Knights, this was due to having completed the force led up to Throne of Skulls.  Also just help give me a deadline to get the first Chaos Knight I bought back in two year ago updated & tie in with the look that the rest of my Knights have.  I ended up pick up best army which I'm happy with :D  Sadily there no photos, I had carry a lot with me & seem there no photos taken by people running the event :(

I'm going to use the formastion from the Bloodoath book just to get my Daemon force started & get some games. Then later go on add more cool units. I think near end of the year I'd like to collect a small Daemonkin Chaos Marine force. Have them theme around a warband from the Chaos vs Ultramarine display from Warhammer World. The lord was once a World Eater, he fought beside my Iron Warriors during the Great Crusade & Horus Heresy. After taken heavy loss (base on the Warhammer World display/background) he now join up/join force with my Iron Warriors for help.

Just right now I want to try get my Dark Mechanicus force finish before the end of this year.

 

What I've been useing as referance. Art work of the Bloodletter from the Space Marine computer game for the PS3. I got the special edition for my birthday when the game was release along side with the sound track & cards.

After a month of battling in events. Seem Khorne favour my Iron Warriors with a new unit. The replacment part arrive for my Kytan in the end, arrive on two days ago. Just when I bought the model it had two left legs, I never notice until I was home as I had a lot other stuff sort out/focuse on during the Throne of Skulls event.

 

I've built the Kytan so it look like he just taken out a squad & is looking for his next target. I've got Marine parts on order from bitz box which will be for the base & try talk to one my friends tomorrow see if they've got a few more spare Marine parts. I'll need to try & see if I can also get spare Ork skull from the Ork boyz set to rep his first game.

 

It a really nice model & fun to build, a lot, lot, lot, lot better than the Storm Eagle model ever was............

 

There still bit more to add before the Kytan is ready for painting.

Just though I'd get a quick update

 

I've been spending this week (Wed & today) painting the Kytan model I bought during the Throne of Skulls event that Warhammer World last month.
So far I've still got to do

 

- Add/building up the layer Forge World weather powder.  Also add forge world soot weather powder to the engines.

- Paint trophies & chaos rune

- Blood for the Blood god

Bloodletter for my new Daemonkin force I'm planning on collecting soon.  The Daemonkin warband will be theme around the Chaos vs Ultramarine display that Warhammer World. 
The Lord will be a veteran from the World Eater Legion, who fought along side my Iron Warriors during the Great Crusade, Horus Heresy & Legion War.  Now looking for help after taken heavy loss.

So right now I'm focuse on the Daemon side of this force.

I'll be stay with this look for the standard Chaos Space Marines in this warband, while the Berzerker will use a bit more from the Age of Sigmar range

This went up for advance order today........... & I cave in & bought Imperial Knights: Renegade, save around £90!! Also getting the limited ed Space Marine model for free.

 

For both Knights, I'm planning

- Standard Battle Cannon version, with Mark of Khorne. While getting ready for Throne of Skulls last month, I notice I have 5pts spare & could gotten a second Battle Cannon Knight & just seen how fun the Battle Cannon version is.

 

- Unsure version. Rumour shown that there rule for Renegade (as well as Forge World) to use Knight with Chaos Marines. There seem to be some diffrent set up vs a Imperial Knight version. So I might go with 2x Battle Cannons, try get a gun platforum type theme model with my Knight force been part of my Iron Warriors & for Siege look/theme.

 

It will be a little while until I get around to building & painting the Knights as I'm going to be pretty busy over the next few weeks. Pretty much any painting will be on models I can get built asap like Bloodletter for my Daemonkin force.

Just find this knight by Games Workshop really cool. This was the model I use to help get idea toward my Siege Knight. Really like all the Chaos work they studio done to the model

I was orignaly going to get a second Khorne Daemon box set, but Rengeade set sort change that. I'm looking forward painting up the plastic Bloodcrusher, last time with my last Daemon force (2008) it was the metal version. While cool they where night mare chipping & breaking a lot.

 

Then White Dwarf always pick up each week :biggrin.:

Then the Black Legion supplament. This was the only copy that was not advance order sent to my local store. I'm aim on starting my Black Legion force around October? This will mark 20 year since I started my Black Legion force with my first conversion, as shown the Lord conversion.

 

I've wanted to get back to getting a new Black Legion force for the past few year.  I was orignaly going to try get a unit ready for Call of Chaos last year, but couldn't lock down on a idea on how I'd want my models to look.  But if I can get somthing sorted during ETL, then I'd like to get a squad sorted.  Same with my Daemonkin if possible.  Other wise this will be planned for Call of Chaos.
Just seen the last version of Codex Black Legion when that was release in 2013 & then ADB Talons of Horus novels.

 

This was my first conversion, as seen in the photo there - missing some trophies :sad.:  My Black Legion force was troop heavy & had a lot of Khorne Berzerker from the 2nd ed era clip together models, to the current multi part Khorne Berzerker when they where first release.  Then a lot of conversion useing parts from the Chaos Biker with the Tactical Marine set, before we ended up with our own Chaos Space Marine spures we have today.

One of the armies that I've always look to for idea during the years. Black Legion force I saw during the old GT heats 1 in 2005 down that Warhammer World.

Then Christain Bryne (use to work for White Dwarf) Black Legion force during the old GT heat 1 in 2006. I fought them during round 2? Just amount of free hand art work on the models from the Slannesh unit with there Rhino transport, to a standard Black Legion trooper.

Your horde of Bloodletters are looking good also, I like their Hellblades especially. The accompanying Chaos marine has a nice scheme; kind of Flesh Tearer-y and not your usual all red, which is good :tu:

 

Of your plans, gotta be looking forward to your Black Legion the most :D

So, the pose on your kytan makes me want to make one with a mace rather than an axe. Curse your inspirational modelling!

The new stuff is looking really good btw.

 

Teetengee - That a cool idea.  I'm not a Warhammer Fantasy player or Age of Sigmar...yet, as the Archaon model change that :D  But there a Skaven hero on a sort death roller machine in finecast?  Eddie, over on ADB Blog (on Horus Heresy tale of gamer article) done really cool conversion useing that for his Fallen Angel Knight.  You should check that out or maybe the screaming bell kit with the part I use for my Siege Knight?

 

I bought the Kytan after seen the model in Alex Chaos Marine force that Throne of Skulls & also re-seen the Chaos vs Ultramarine display that Warhammer World.  Pretty much just went to the Forge World store after Round 1 during Throne of Skulls.  Been mean to pick up the model since it release last year.

Yes I'm looking forward getting Black Legion on the go again.  I've got a few days off that the start of May, so aim to try get one of those days kept aside just build up a test model for the Black Legion.  Also found photos of my Mk3 & Mk4 Black Legion force that I'll try upload in future updates.

For the Bloodletter, it pretty easy.

- Mephiston Red (I use spray)

- Brown shade

- The dry rust paint Games Workshop release few year ago

- Bloodletter glaze mix with medium

 

Then there three diffrent highlight with orange, I'll try get there names in the next update.  Followed with sepia & brown shade mix with medium.  It just highlight stage that take a little while.  So far it taken 8 days to get the 20 Bloodletter painted.  I've got another ten Bloodletter I'll start painting this week, while also trying to finish painting the Kytan. 

 

So there the start of my Daemonkin force, it will be Daemon heavy.  But I'm aim on adding the Chaos Space Marine side next time I'm that Nottingham, allow me to pick up a few kits from Forge World store & again get a lot of cool idea from the Chaos vs Ultramarine display.

 

Black Legion - I do have a Black Legion force I'm going to be painting for a friend to use that local tournament in August.  The army will be part of my vow for ETL.  There warband will be useing models from the Horus Heresy box game & will be Slannesh theme.  So I'll start building this army for them after my few days off in May & have them all ready when ETL start.

 

While my own Black Legion force it'll most like be around Call of Chaos time & also spend the Christmas holidays try get a 1850pts force ready just get some games.
 

 

This is just one of those threads that makes me want to pick up my glue and green stuff and get to it. Absolutely inspiring stuff.

 

Rememeber we've got ETL next month which is a great time to get any of these project built & painted.  As well as seen a lot of cool models from the whole forum.

Since the last update, the Kytan is all finish. Just added blue glaze mix with medium, along with typhus & sepia shade to try give heat effect on the weapon/left arm. I'll try get around & do that to the Lord of Skulls model as well as adding the soot weather powder.

Also just had my second game with my Chaos Guard force against my friend brand new Space Wolves drop pod force. So though I'd take the time get some photos of the Chaos guards just before the game started.

 

Chaos Guards where a on/off army during 2012 up until last year. Just got to the stage I wanted to get the army to 1850pts & ready for gaming, useing Call of Chaos last year to help with a deadline. Other wise I don't think this army would ever gotten any further.
I've recently went back to add a few bit of detail to the Tanks. I'm also possible going to try spend the weekend adding some transfer to the Tanks from both Chaos & Mechanichs sheets. Try help add that theme of this force been from a Forge World base planet in civial (sp?) war, with my Iron Warriors end up over taken & taken over the planet.

I'm planning on adding the FW Death Korp Rough Rider models & a few Hellhound to this force in the near future.

 

Also, July mark 20 year since the 2nd ed Codex Chaos Space Marines was release.  I started the hobby just around the (UK) Sept Holidays in 1996, then a few weeks later during the October holiday got my first White Dwarf - 202, which had ton of really cool stuff on Chaos Marines.  From John Blanche art work with conversion idea which has help me out for a lot of conversion idea & why I started Chaos Marines 20 year ago, to art work of the Chaos Terminator - which led to my Unbound army for Throne of Skulls back in March.

 

I though be cool to do somthing mark this during ETL.  So I've mange to get a few 2nd ed era models.  Just the Khorne Berzerker for exsample where pretty much the core of my Black Legion force when I started them, followed with the multi part Khorne Berzerker when they where release a few years later.

 

So this was the first box set I got a few weeks ago, which was 5x Khorne Berzerker.

Then Khorne Berzerker will end up been part of my Daemonkin force that I've recently been collecting with all those Bloodletter shown past few update.
As said they will be part of my ETL vow.

 

On another ETL note - Here the start of the Black Legion force (before the supplament update) I'm current painting for a friend so they can use them in a few local tournament.  It going to be theme around the Slannesh Warband.  So far I've just been building up the Power Armour models from Battle for Catlh box set.  There wanting to theme the army sort of around the Legion Wars, just around time the novel Talons of Horus by ADB took place.

There about 2000pts in all I think?  I've got Be'lakor & a unit of Noise Marines they'd ask me to paint for them just that the end of last year, but ended up holding off when they ask about getting this lot painted as well.

Also tomorrow Warhammer Fest.  One of my friends will be aim to pick up a few Iron Circle models for me.  In games they will ether be Contemport Dreadnought useing Armour 13: Lost & the Damned.  Or against my friends they happy for me to use the Horus Heresy rule for them, end of the day I'm not a win that all cost player & my friends know me as a oppent/just want to use models I think look cool.

 

So I should find out some point tomorrow & get these next week.

Those iron circle models look mean! I hadn't seen them before...

 

Yes, Forge World & Warhammer World annouce that they would be on sale that Warhammer Fest during the weekend there.  There £52 I belive from what been said on the Warhammer Fest rumour topic.  There big models, the event only Terminator model only seem to be half the high of one of them.

 

Also it sound pretty cool.  Seem the Lord of Iron would sent them to diffrent commander to protect them, but also if they failed..........well they'd have the Iron Circle robots to deal with......

 

Can't wait to see how your iron circle turn out!

 

Yes, I've got a lot idea how I want them to look.  I just need to get parts for the base.  I should be picking up the models tomorrow :D

So ETL has started on Sunday & here what I've vow for the first lot. I'll be getting a few vows done, though would be better to break them down as this will give me a chance to later add any new unit/models. Say last year with the Chaos Siege Knight or the Fallen Angel.

Khorne Berzerker next to current Daemonkin Battle Brother. As said in past update, the Berzerker will be part of my new Daemonkin force I'm current collecting. I'll also have other Berzerker converted up in the future useing Age of Sigmar parts. While the standard Chaos Marines will be the same as the painted Battle Brother shown in the photo.

How the Black Legion force are looking. Since the photo was taken. A squad of Terminator & Cultist have been built, they will be part of my second vow for ETL. I should get Abaddon built later today & start painting the inside of the Rhinos & Land Raider so they are ready to build on Thursday.

I spent Saturday afternoon adding transfer to my Chaos Guards tanks. I'm going to leave them clean looking & as a sort of contrast. I've went with the Mark of Khorne with my Iron Warriors force been Khorne heavy. As well as adding Mechanicus transfer.

It been good going back to the Chaos Guards. There still a few things I need to finish painting on the models. With a lot of stuff already built now, like the Khorne Berzerker. I'll try spend a few hours here & there on Friday to Sunday just painting those part of the Chaos Guard force. Use my game next week as the deadline, where they will be battle against my friends Ork army.

 

I'm looking forward to painting the Black Legion force. It been fun building them. I think all I've got left is Abaddon, 2x Rhinos, Land Raider, Dreadnought & a Heldrake.

 

Also my friend mange to pick up the Iron Circle models for me on Sunday? That Warhammer Fest. I should be getting them tomorrow. I've seen a few photos of them already been built & they look really cool.
Also seen all the stuff on Warhammer Fest was really cool. I want to add the Moritats model to my Iron Warriors or use him as a Warpsmith for my Black Legion force. Then there the Iron Warrior dice which are meant to be release pretty soon, so going to stock up on them for my games :biggrin.:

Right now for the Black Legion force.  I'm aim on getting the Cultist on there base tomorrow & I think I've got a Spawn to build as well.  Then Sunday just get all the tanks.  I'd like to try get them all undercaoted soon & start painting the first models on Monday.  Aim undercaot the army though out the week.

 

Update

 

Spent a bit of today painting up the 2nd ed era Khorne Berzerker models. I can't quite rememeber how I painted the World Eater to the left for my Bloodborn unit & why it really helpful to write down note.
For the Khorne Berzerker I've use the Mephiston red spray with brown shade, sepia & then brown shade again before highlight.

There still a lot to get done & I'm hoping to possible get transfer added tomorrow during lunch time. Not quite sure what I will do for the Chainsword, feel like somthing need to be done. I'll have a quick look that the Forge World Horus Heresy book 1 see if there any scripe/letter for the World Eaters.

Also pick up this lot from my friends attending Warhammer Fest. From what I've seen on facebook, seem to been 40 sold on Saturday & 40 sold on Sunday.

There really cool models & looking that the guide, it sorted a few worry I had. For exsample I was unsure if I should glue the mask on or paint it seprate but so far it look really easy to paint it seprate & glue onto the model later with out anything blocking it.

I'm hoping to possible get these two models built on Friday afternoon. If all goes to plan I'm aim on take Friday as a quick day off. I just need to see if I've got enough spare Marine parts to add a Templars to the base.

 

Also I've recently been thinking about adding a Dreadclaw to my Iron Warriors. Not sure why beyound one my friends talk about this recently & asking why I've not got one. Possible have a unit of Chosen. Seen the Warhammer World display with the Forge World model, it does look cool.
So maybe go with a unit of Chosen with 4x Melta, Champion with Combi Melta & Power Fist? Maybe a little while, but aim to try get this done soon just give me chose & I think it'll be cool.

Update

 

Since the last update, it been pretty chaotic with personal life & then my lap top end up breaking.

 

But Iron Circle models are all finish, there really great models to build & paint.  Pretty much ever Iron Warrior hobbiest need them in there collection.  I want to try pick up a few more as there just really cool models

I've just to sort out the points cost later today.  Again you can see some of vow two posted over in the Chaos ETL topic.

 

I'm hoping to also get some bitz together just get a rough idea how I'm wanting the chosen to look.  I'm aim on vow 3, to get there Dreadclaw painted up.  Just though it would be cool get a Dreadclaw, part this was been ask why I've never had one & also once again been inspired by the Chaos vs Ultramarine display from Warhammer World.

 

Also recently - One of my friends is moving home & clear though some of there Games Workshop.  So I've just gotten two complete set of Bloodletter models & some left over part from the Space Wolves spure.  I will be painting a model for there new 40k army as a thanks.

Also took part in my wargaming club first 40k double tournament.  Pretty much, you could't have say Eldar ally with Eldar & Allies of the Apoclypse was remove just help out for people get team together.

It followed the old Conflict Scotland force org chart where it was 1 HQ, 2 Troops, 1 Elite, Heavy &/or Fast Attack, if you wanted a second Heavy support, you needed to unit in all those chose, same if you wanted a third chose.

 

Really enjoyed the day, even though my team mate force got wipe out turn 3 round 1, turn 2 round 2, turn 4 in round 3 - that one was because we didn't want him to get the spot prize for someone who got there force wipe out.......

 

There also a lot really cool armies.  From Tau & Guard (Guard theme as those join Tau), to Grey Knight & Eldar that won over all best army.  There where 6 diffrent armies that had votes, the Tau/Guard army, my own, Tezentch Daemons & Dark Angels, Blood Angels & Imperial Fist & one more which sadily I've forgotten :sad.:

Then round 2.  Pretty much:

 

- Ravenwing & White Scar stole turn 1.

- Tau get wipe out on the RW/WS turn 2 (photo taken on our turn two).

- Turn 2, my unit of Cultist done more damage in one round combat, than my Tau team mate had done.  They charge a unit of Ravenwing Knights (5?) wipe them out.  I think I loss two models to overwatch & then a few more models in combat, only having four models left in the unit.  I was really gutted the Cultist Champion never turned into a Daemon Prince with the mount of 6's I was rolling for save, hit, wound, look out sir.

Also that me bought my ticket for Warhammer Throne of Skulls in September 3rd & 4th.

I'm going to take two army list again as it was fun chose between armies during Throne of Skulls March - Just note on that, none of the list where taloir & I never pick my army base on the oppent.  I just pick the army I wanted to game with.

 

So one will be my Battle Forge, pretty much my core army list but few changies - pretty much a few units I've not use in a while.  Then unbound which will have my Siege Knight conversion & few new models like the maulerfiend.

 

With Throne of Skulls been around same time as my birthday.  I'm sort out a game on my birthday after Throne of Skulls event against my friend - 3000pts & book the Shrine World Boralis IV table that Warhammer World.  It look cool & fit in with the planet my Iron Warriors are battle over in my army background.

Quick update

 

So this week I've been focuse on having the Black Legion force all ready to go & make sure everything ok.  They will be taken part in a local tournament this weekend.

 

Also with the finial week of the ETL.  I've made one finial vow.  I've had the Chaos Champion model for almost two year & though it be pretty cool to built him up as a second in command for my new Daemonkin force when I start building up the Marine side of it.

I'm not all to keen on the mutation look of the Dark Vengeance or the champion model, don't get me wrong they are cool.  Just it not for me.

So this will be getting drop off with them this week so they can get some games.  I'll try get a whole army photo that the event it self.  It been fun painting the army & I think it taken me June & July to get that lot built & painted along side a lot of other models that where not in the photo.

 

Also mange to quickly get some time toward the two Knight models.  So just adding brass etching & adding the loin cloth to the Knights.  I just need to sort there base & they be ready for paint pretty soon.  My aim with the Renegade set was to make one a Battle cannon version just give me chose, while with the Renegade version (rule wise) I wanted to go for somthing that the Forge World Chaos Knight rules don't have.  Then the main reason for any of my models, they just look cool.

Dreadclaw - I just got the Dreadclaw last week & I'm just planning on what to do with the base.  I want to try possible model the Dreadclaw show it crashing into the earth, but it mean cutting off a few legs so it can fit onto the Archaon base.  Then just add green stuff around it.  So still working out a few things before I start painting the Dreadclaw.  But it has been a nice model to build.

Just a quick update

 

Since Friday I was that Warhammer World in Nottingham.  This was for Throne of Skulls during the 3rd & 4th Sept.  Then spend my birthday 5th Sept in a 3000pt game vs my friend & his orks.  Just returned today around 2.30pm.

 

So it also nearly 20 year since I started the hobby.  The new White Dwarf show back issue - 202 that was my first issue & got me to collect Chaos.  While it was the 5th ed box art got me into the hobby.  Though I'd bring my Black legion lord that was my first conversion back in 1996 & let few friends & other people see him.

While Throne of Skulls it self was really great.  Ever single person seem to be enjoy all there games.  I know I had the five best games I've had in a while that a event. 

 

Everyone took models & armies they enjoy collecting & just wanted get games with them.  Each my five games where great, lot epic moment that will further add theme to my own Iron Warriors.  In fact two of the games have sort been added as a bit background toward the 3000pt game vs my friend Orks.

 

Mange to get Army nominee which I'm always happy with.  I also, as said got the Legend for my Siege Knight & Legend award for my Siege Breacher unit.  I was aim for the tank comp since March this year, after building the Knight.  While the squad comp caught me by surprise.  

 

Was also really cool - I was No8 for the event: Khorne favour.  Just with the release of the new Traitor hate book.  Also my very first game was No888 vs Salamander :biggrin.:

Then - Not my one, but the art work Forge World had on display in store.  So they've got my copy all ready to get posted out to me.  That should be the end of this week.  Gutted the Lord of Iron version sold out.  If I knew I'd ask friends pick up the art work.  I've also got Traitor Hate limited ed book on order, it was bought for my birthday as well & I'm looking forward getting my copy this Saturday :D

As well as this Iron Warrior art, again for my birthday.  This arrive last week after paying for the art work during Throne of Skulls Eternal War event that Warhammer World

Now I'm getting my Iron Warriors ready for my wargaming club yearly tournament which is in a week & a half time.  I'm going to use the brand new Traitor Hate book & it mostly just to use formation & try lot new stuff, as to be honesty only formation I've really use in the game been the Helbrute one where they deep strike.  I'm still trying to get my Space Wolves force to fit the Iron Wolves formation - it just trying to get around to adding those Blood Claws units :biggrin.:

 

But right now I'm adding my third Vindicator.  This has been somthing I've wanted to get around to adding over the past few months & I'm useing my gaming club tournament & Call of Chaos as the deadline.

I'm really happy how the Knight trophies turn out.  There base on the Knights I fought during Throne of Skulls March 2014 vs Blood Angels & Space Wolves.

While the Ork trophy base on my friends Ork force after the 3000pt birthday game that Warhammer World.  Mechanicus is base on another friend force.
Same with the Dark Angel, who base on my friend Dave force - He done a really nice battle report on our game back in 2012 just when I was getting this force together

Here what I've current been painting today, extra daemon prince for next week.  Few of us who are useing our Chaos armies with Traitor hate been talking about how many we'd roughly need.  I think it been suggested 2-3.  So I've just built this Daemon Prince on Sunday & spent today painting him.

 

Mix of the Finecast & plastic Daemon Prince.  Just there part of the Plastic Daemon Prince I really don't like.  While the finecast version is base on one of my all time favorite models, but wanted to try make him diffrent from Warsmith Abhorred Riddick/metal version of that model.

Then today painting.  There still a lot to paint & I need to tr add soot weather powder to the weapon.  Conversion done just for somthing diffrent & like the version Warhammer World done for the big Chaos vs Ultramarine display.

I've pick up the Dreadknight & Soul Grinder, inspired by a Iron Warriors conversion I saw that the Warhamme World 40k open day last year (see below).  Want to try somthing like that & idea from the Nurgle Daemon prince seen in the White Dwarf a few months ago.  Also other image to try help get that finial idea.  I'm wanting to try start building the model on Friday just to get a rough idea & so it ready for painting next week,

I've really enjoyed useing the new Traitor Hate book & really looking forward to the event next week.  Just there for a weekend of gaming, catch up with friends.  Just pray to the Chaos gods that there no dull & boring Eldar Warp Spider spam list.
